Feathersoul and Leafpaw

This is just for fun and is optional: you don't have to do it if you don't want to. Anyone can join if they want to. Just no pups, please, as that wouldn't make very much since if they came alone, lol. The training will take place in the Sandy Hollow, although to make things interesting we can/will travel around the territory. It takes place on a warm, cloudy day in Greenleaf.

Feathersoul sat down in the warm sat, glancing around for her Daughter. The small black fae smiled in content. It was the perfect place for training. It was a warm, yet cloudy day in Greenleaf She wondered about what he would want to do first. Oh, so much to do to prepare her! Fighting, hunting, fishing, herbal knowlage...

Leaf made her way, through the forest not minding where she stepped. She was a pretty wolf, but she didn't try to keep herselfpretty as she did not see herself as so. And yet, the dappled light that shone through the leaves of the green leaf trees danced upon her soft pelt, in soft rhythmic steps that went along with the tune of the wind rustling in the trees. She stepped lightly, her small, delicate paws never making a sound as she came up before Feathersoul, her mother, mentor and friend. She smiled and sat down before her, her paws neat and posied as she sat straight. "Good morning Feathersoul." Her smile, always there, didn't falter as she spoke softly, her voice still audible however. "What will be doing today?"

Feathersoul dipped her head in greeting to her daughter. "Good morning to you too, Leafpaw." She smiled, running through her list once more in her head. "Well, I decided to let you decide what we do first." She paused, curling her tail around her paws. "What would you like to do?"

Leafpaw thought about it, narrowing her eyes. Her rotund ear flicked slightly, as she thought about it. She didn't like conflict, so she wouldn't enjoy fighting though she had to learn it anyway. Hunting sounded like fun, but herbs interested her more. The apprentice looked up at the black female before her, wanting to get the worst over with. "Lets do the boring one, fighting." Yes, she saw fighting as a bore, a dull excuse to take out your anger. But Leaf felt no anger towards anything. Nothing could truly make her mad, so this was the right thing for her.

Feathersoul chuckled at Leafpaw's "enthusiasm". "Well, I can see you're very excited today," she laughed, standing up. "Okay, first, front paw moves." She trotted a few paces into the forest, leaning a branch up against the side of a tree. "Now, just score your claws down it or whack it with your paw."

Leafpaw walked up to the tree and did as the medicine wolf instructed. She looked at the tree sadly, it had never done anything wrong to her, why should she hurt it? The small female shook her head, that was not what she was supposed to be thinking! Leaf looked at the branch and standing on her hind legs, gave a clean swipe to the branches base, sending it off a few feet. She sighed, she had done well, but she didn't know what was exciting about fighting.

Feathersoul sighed. "Okay, I can see that you're not excited about this. But sometimes it will be nessicary. One time, coys attacked the camp, and I had to fight too." She padded over to the branch, grasping it in her jaws. "You'll have to fight if something attacks you." With no warning, she swung the branch at Leafpaw, aimed to whack her shoulder.

Leafpaw was about to give a positive reply, when her ear twitched to a sudden whoosh. The female turned her head, in time to see the branch being swung at her. "Hey!" She ducked down, feeling the branch whizz past her ears as she stood just as fast and brought her paw down upon the stick with a hard whack. The branch was rather hollow and broke easily beneath her sudden slap. "Well that wasn't very nice."

No mercy? Leafpaw shuddered at the thought, and yet when she had hit that branch an odd sense of satisfaction came over her. She, the quiet, kind she wolf, had enjoyed the splintering break of the branch. But she knew she preferred her new role. "Fine..."
