Weedpaw flicked her tail. She gazed up at the sun and narrowed eyes. Whats taking her so long? The fae snorted and gazed back at the ground.

Scarletsoul padded into the area and shook out her fur before entering the clearing. Seeing Weedpaw was already there, Scarlet gave a small smile and brief nod of greeting as she trotted up to her apprentice. "Sorry I'm late, got caught up with some things." She barked once she came to stand in-front of the female. "Want to dive straight into training?" Scarlet asked with a slight questioning tilt to her head. "Or do you want to ask any questions about training before we begin?"

Weedpaw lifted her head and nodded. "Questions first. How did the clans start? I mean you all talk about them,but I have no idea what they really started from..." The brown fae slapped her tail on the ground.

Scarletsoul hesitated for a moment trying to remember the story she'd been told thousands upon thousands of times by her parents when she was a pup. Confident she could remember it all, Scarlet sat down and made herself comfy signalling for Weedpaw to do the same.
"Alright...I may as well tell you the while story so sit back because it's going to be a long one.
     Long ago, way before any of us could remember, there were three Clans - DireClan, FoxClan, and CoyClan that ruled the land we now stab on. If I'm correct: DireClan wolves were known for their strength, and wolves of both FoxClan and CoyClan were known for their intelligence and cunning nature. No-one knows exactly where each clan's territory was but it's thought that CoyClan populated what is now WindClan territory, FoxClan in what eventually became ShadowClan territory, and DireClan taking up the rest - that was, ThunderClan and RiverClan territory.

    The three Clans lived in peace for a time, however tensions soon arose. Despite owning half of the forest, Whitestar - I believe the leader of DireClan - desired even more territory. Fierce attacks were launched against the other two Clans, who were hardly able to fend off the merciless DireClan warriors. In a moment of desperation, CoyClan sent a young apprentice named Crystalpaw to FoxClan, hoping that the other Clan could save CoyClan from the destruction looming over them. Crystalpaw quickly snuck away from the battle and raced across the moors to FoxClan territory. The journey seemed impossible, but thankfully, as the apprentice crossed over to FoxClan territory, she met a border patrol and was able to deliver news of the fate that would befall CoyClan if they were not saved. The poor apprentice must've been terrified... Anyway in with the story.

    Accompanied by FoxClan warriors, Crystalpaw hurried back to CoyClan, praying that they weren't too late. The journey back was harder than the young apprentice had anticipated - the FoxClan warriors were slower than Crystalpaw, which was not helped by the unfamiliar terrain they now faced. However, they still arrived at the CoyClan camp in time, and eventually the DireClan warriors were forced back towards their own territory. With the battle barely won, the two Clans realized that there was no hope in defeating DireClan for good unless they fought together, and an alliance was formed. The day after the battle, Crystalpaw, even though she had not yet completed her training, was made a warrior and given the name Crystalshadow in honour to her courageous and brave mission she accepted.

    After that fateful battle, nothing was heard from DireClan for moons. CoyClan took this oppurtunity to rebuild and train, while FoxClan worked on expanding their camp and building up their defenses. The two Clans frequently met at the FoxClan camp to plot their next battle with DireClan, and discuss possible reasons for DireClan's absence. Eventually, FoxClan decided to send a spy out to DireClan territory to discover why they had suddenly disappeared. The spy was a warrior named Ashwind who remained in DireClan territory for three days before returning to his own territory, where he announced that disease had severely weakened the other Clan. Following Ashwind's announcement, the unanimous decision to attack DireClan was made.

     The following morning, all CoyClan and FoxClan wolves who were able to fight moved toward the DireClan camp. The attack took DireClan by surprise, and, thanks to the disease that had weakened them and the number of attacking wolves, the once fearsome Clan was easily defeated and banished from the forest. The territory was split in half, with CoyClan now owning what used to be WindClan and RiverClan territory and FoxClan owning what eventually became ShadowClan and ThunderClan territory.

    Peace once again ruled the land, however, again, the peace did not last long. Early one morning, the FoxClan deputy, named Tawnywing, snuck into the CoyClan camp and assassinated the CoyClan leader, Heatherstar, and her deputy Silverfoot. Unfortunately for Tawnywing, Crystalshadow caught the FoxClan deputy by surprise as he was sneaking away, and Tawnywing was killed. The warriors of CoyClan later declared Crystalshadow leader, who then declared war on FoxClan. Many fierce battles were fought, and he number of deaths on each side was overwhelming, and eventually only a small amount of wolves from each side remained, and many of those survivors left the forest and never returned.
    Eventually, more wolves arrived in the forest, and the wolves who arrived after the war are our ancestors. Fierce territory battles were held, and thankfully these disputes were solved at the first Gathering, where the first leaders of ThunderClan, ShadowClan, RiverClan, and WindClan stepped forward to claim the lands best suited for their Clans, and agreed that Gatherings would be held at every full moon. Mothermouth was later discovered by a wolf named Moonwing, who was banished from WindClan for almost dying while following a feather. StarClan later made contact with Moonwing as she touched her nose to the Moonstone, and she was then welcomed back into WindClan, and the decision to have one medicine wolf for each Clan was made. I do not know if you yet know about the Moonstone or Mothermouth but they are very sacred places to the clans and you will surely make at least one trip there in your life time with the clans.
    More recently, a warrior named Direblood and his sister Moonshadow, left Windclan along with a large group of wolves to create Sunclan. Starclan ruled that there only be four clans in the forest so Riverclan was split to welcome in Sunclan which brings us to the now. As I said, long story. Hope I didn't bore you." Scarletsoul finished with a small chuckle. Curling he tail around her paws, the fae waited to see what Weedpaw's reaction would be to the story.

Weedpaw shifted her positions a few times as the long start was told. It was actually quite interesting. "Long story ya' got there Scarlet." The little apprentice flicked her tail. "Though...It was actual' pretty good."

Hehehe yea sorry, typo. Ya knew what I meant )

Scarletsoul sat up a little straighter hearing that Weedpaw enjoyed the story and she gave a little nod as she spoke, "Yes, long story. Long past. Glad you liked it." She smiled as she hauled herself to her paws and flicked her tail. "Anymore questions?" the rusty-brown female asked, standing patiently waiting for an answer.

Scarletsoul thought for a moment and nodded. "Yes, I have a quick question. Before you joined SunClan had you had any combat, hunting or tracking practise?" Surely Weedpaw had to hunt along the way as she travelled to the territory of the Four Clans, but the apprentice was only young. Kept Scarletsoul wondering how she made it. The small female obviously had spirit and determination.

Scarletsoul nodded, an impressed look on her face. "You mean Two-legs? That's what we call them here. Those tall, pale, skinny creatures." she explained and flicked her tail. She could tell by the apprentice's reaction that talking about her history made her uncomfortable and Scarlet decided she'd try say clear of that subject all together when talking to Weedpaw.

Weedpaw shrugged. "Whateve' ya' want ta' call them." The brown apprentice stood up and arched her back in a stretch. She then cracked her neck. "Shall we get to work?" The fae rolled her shoulders as she said this. Wanting desperately to get away from the last subject.

Scarletsoul rose to her feet. "Sure. Show me what you already know and we can build onto of it." the pretty fae began. "Attack me." she instructed, not bothering to crouch into a defensive position. She wanted to see what her apprentice would do first if a wolf was off guard. Scarlet waiting for Weedpaw to make her first move.

Weedpaw frowned. Although,she was nothing if not obedient. She took a dash at her mentor,and slid under her from the front. She slid out the back and used her teeth to grab onto her tail. With her eyes closed,she then tried to trip her mentor's hind legs.

Scarletsoul was impressed that her apprentice knew this move - or a move like it - and gave a grunt as teeth met her tail. Hearing Weedpaw come in for another attack, Scarlet didn't bother to turn around, she just dropped to the floor bringing her legs and feet up to her stomach, and quickly rolled away. Spring back to her feet, she turned to face Weedpaw and gave a brief nod. "Good move, but it would be more effective if you slid under on your back so you could rake your claws across your opponents stomach next time. But in real combat, your opponent would've dropped on-top of you to suffocate you. That's when you roll away." Scarlet explained watching Weedpaw closely. "Want me to show you?" she asked knowing when she was an apprentice she'd learnt best when watching and trying herself.

Weedpaw shook her head. "Nah,I can picture it quite well in my mind." The apprentice pondered about improving that move. Usually I'd just pull em' by the tail and lift them up...But that was when I played with the small sappy pups at ta' farm Weedpaw shook her head as she flicked her tail. "Want me to try anything else?"

Scarletsoul chuckled. "I wouldn't squash you, but okay if you don't want to." Padding a little closer to Weedpaw, Scarlet narrowed her eyes for a moment. "I want to see some of your defensive skills. I'm going to do a simple, basic attack and you're going to defend yourself, okay?" she explained and twitched her tail.

[color=green]Weedpaw blinked. "Sure whatever." The apprentice shrugged and backed away from Scarlet to give her some space. She narrowed her eyes and bunched up her muscles.

Scarletsoul waited for Weedpaw to take a step back before she attacked. She took a deep breath as she waited. Swiping a quick paw towards Weedpaw, Scarlet aimed to hit the side of the apprentice's face, her claws sheathed as not to hurt Weedpaw. Scarlet knew Weedpaw would become a great warrior because she was showing signs of skill even in the early days of training.

Weedpaw watched as the paw flew towards her. She turned and and padded backwards towards Scarletsoul. She then bent down to dodge the paw. Her green eyes shut.

Scarletsoul felt her paw hit thin-air and gave a grunt of approval. Intrigued at Weedpaw's strategy, Scarlet lifted a lightning-fast paw and aimed to flick both of Weedpaw's back legs out from underneath her, trying to knock the apprentice off balance. She didn't know how the female would respond to this and her golden eyes smouldered the curiosity. From what Scarlet could tell, Weedpaw was a keen fighter.

Weedpaw was surprised,and slipped under Scarlet's paw. She hit the ground,her chin in the dust. Weed snorted and sat up. She used one of her paws to rub under her muzzle. "Oww."

Scarletsoul cringed as Weedpaw's chin hit the ground with a thud. Feeling a little guilty, Scarlet flicked her tail and looked down at the female. "I'm not saying never but try not to turn your back on the enemy. They'll be in your blind spot." she barked before adding with a friendlier tone, "You alright? Made a good smack noise there." She chuckled teasingly trying to lighten the mood a little.

Scarletsoul narrowed her eyes at Weed's words, trying to detect the accusing tone and venom in the sentence. Shaking her head, Scarlet ground her teeth together as she decided. "I think that's enough combat for now. Lets move onto hunting." she announced with a sigh. "Can I see your hunting crouch?" she asked wondering how the female had hunted before hand.
