The Tunnels

he crept down into the tunnels and inhaled the cold musty smelling air, he continued walking with moonpups teeth sunk into his sensitive tail. he trotted through the tunnels, shivering a little at the coldness. he whispered "its really dark but you need to becareful for tree roots at head height moonpup" he continued walkin soon coming to a large cave in the tunnels and stopped.

SnowFlower ran ahead of them into the tunnels and stopped in front of them, "what are you doing here?" she asked.

Direpup stared up at snowflower with no fear at all "im interested in whats down here snowflower" he said calmly as if explaining why he was going to the fresh kill pile.

"ok but be careful." she warned. "where are you going from here?" she asked,"after all its named the tunnels because it connects to a lot of other places." she said.

Moonpup jumped as she heard Snowflower speak. "Why did you follow us? Its not an adventure anymore with a warrior around." She stepped sideways a bit and hit her head on a root. "Ouch," she mumbled. "At least I'm used to the darkness, and I have a good sense of smell and hearing."

"we are going to the moor from here snowflower" direpup announced "and then all over the territory we are going to be the best wolves ever"

Moonpup nodded. "Yes, the best wolves ever," she agreed. She shifted her paws. "Are you gonna go now? Please?"

"please snowflower i know we wont get lost, not with moonpup she has the best nose out of anyone in the four clans!" he blinked big pitiful eyes at snowflower "come on pleaaaaasse"

"Ok just this once, but be careful ok?" she said as she turned and padded towards camp.

He grinned then shoved his tail back in moonpups mouth and continued on, holding his head high he said "direstar of darkclan and his loyal deputy Moonsong are walking through their territory like the pros they are" he chuckled and continued on.

Moonpup gave a muffled giggle around his tail. "Yeah," she managed to get out. "The pros we are." She fell silent for awhile then spoke again. "Do you really know where were going?"

"yeah, to the moor through the tunnels! the best adventure ever! and then we can practise our hunting skills on real animals not just leaves!" he chuckled and continued on he sniffed the air then began racing forwards up the tunnels went and they found themselves on the moor

"Alright." she said, following him to the moors.

he sat in the dark tunnels panting hard, his eyes blinking pupils dilated he gently placed the feathers down and nudged them over to moonpaw, his eyes shining with affection for the blind fae.

he flushed under his fur, and licked her cheek his blood red eyes shining in the darkness he pickedup the feathers again and said "im not very good in these tunnelsyou would probbaly be better, do you want to lead the way?"

He flushed under his fur again and touched his nose to moonpaws "same to you, you make me feel like im normal!" his blood red eyes closed for a few moments. his heart beating fast.

direpaw gently loped after moonpaw, his blood red eyes glancing around, his black wet nose sniffing the air, he came up beside her at the moor.

Moonwhisper flt her paws take her on the familar route through the tunnels. The darkness enveloped her, and she smiled despite herself. The tunnels were like a long lost friend of her's, being reunited at last. She wuld missthm, but all for the better. Lying down, she put her head on he paws, her eyes closing.

Waking up, she felt an unfamiliar lonlyness settle down over her. Standing, she shook out her pelt and headed for the moors, intent on getting back to camp. Maybe Shadepaw was ready with the poly juice.

Shadepaw entered the tunnels in a frantic search for his mentor. His eyes full of worry as he searched. Not even a scent in the tunnels. "This is the only place he could be, I've checked everywhere else. He has to be here!" He whispered, a tear rolling out from his eye.

Heatherpaw padded solemnly after Shadepaw, being carful not to trip. Coming up to stand next to the Medicine wolf apprentice, she touched her tail lightly to his ear, trying to comfort him, "Where ever he is i'm sure that he is proud of you." Raising her muzzle she sniffed around, trying to detect any trace of Skydust's scent. Nothing. Turning back to Shadepaw she cast him a sorrowful glance.

He looked at Heatherpaw. "It sounds like your saying he's dead. He is not dead! I refuse to believe it. We'll go back to see Russetstar, maybe a search party can be sent out." He said, turning back. "We have to get back to camp though. I scented some other clan wolves earlier."
