Hawktalon sat, his amber eyes glittering. Where was Moonpaw? He told her to meet her at this spot! He grunted, laying atop his branch.

Hearing a grunt,she snorted and dashed over to her mentor's scent. She skidded to a stop at the sigh of the brute. "What now? Oh no patient one?" She snorted and flicked her tail

Hawktalon jumped out of the tree, sides heaving. "What do you want to do today?" he asked, sort-of mockingly. "Or, what do you like best?" He sat, staring at his apprentice with warm- yet cold- eyes.

Moonpaw shrugged. Not caring about his mockery. "I've learned a bit from Tigerstorm." She snorted. "Not that you care though. But,I would like to know how to hunt."

"Alright, let's learn the hunting crouch, first." Hawktalon crouched, his tail tucking under him. "Crouch like this, but keep your balance. Don't let your belly or tail touch the ground, prey can hear that. Just keep low to the ground and don't touch the ground, got it? I fell my first time."

Moonpaw nodded. She then crouched. Slowly she inched forward. Her belly fur jus barely touching the ground. "How's this?" She had hunted before. But with little success.

"Rise up a little higher. That way the mouse- or other animal- won't see you." He crouched yet again, just a bit more off the ground then Moonpaw. "Try again, please."

Moonpaw nodded. She then crouched again. Lifting herself up a bit more. She quickly crawled forward. Starting to get used to crawling towards the ground.

"Good job! Now, lets start out with something small, like a vole perhaps. What do you small?" Hawktalon asked. Vole, mouse, and one of those two-leg's pigs... he thought.

Moonpaw blinked. She opened her maw. Emerging herself in the scent of the forest. She closed her eyes. Focusing in the smell. She took a deep breath and closed her muzzle she glanced at her mentor. "I smell a mouse,vole. And so,etching from a Twolegged." She sniffed the air,then crinkled her nose. "And a stale scent of fox i think." She snorted and flicked her tail.

"Smell again. Something similar to a warthog, and it does come from a two-leg. The scent is strong." He smiled. His apprentice was doing just fine.

Moonpaw turned to Hawktalon,and frowned. "I've never heard of a warthog." She sighed and sighed deeply. Then flicked her tail.

"Erm, what about a hog?" Hawtalon paused, sighing deeply. "Really, I'll tell you if you don't know. Now, see if you can reconize the scent." He waited for his apprentice's response.

Moonpaw snorted and scented the air again. She sighed and turned to her mentor. "Never heard of a hog either. Just tell me." She frowned and sighed. She flicked her tail and blinked.

Hawktalon sighed. Being a mentor was hard. "It's on a two-leg form. It's a pig. Ever heard of one, Moonie?"

Moonpaw narrowed her eyes at the name 'Moonie'. She growled and snorted. "No. Don't you adults always tell us to stay away,from Twoleggeds." She snorted and glanced around. "Now what?"

"Alirhgt. Do you smell anything you want to catch?" He smiled at his apprentice. They hated each other, yet they liked each other in a friendly way.

She shrugged. "I want to try somehting big. Maybe a deer or an elk." She blinked and flicked her tail.

Moonpaw wasn't quite ready for something that big. "Could you do something small, like a rabbit, before we go for one of those? If you smell a small female deer, we can go for it together."
[If it is, would you want it under large or medium animals if we get it?]

(Eh lets just to to rabbits first.)
Moonpaw flicked her ears. Acknowledging what he said. "Well,then i can try for a rabbit instead." She blinked and sat down.

"Alrighty then! Remember, rabbits can me as quick as a bullet. Try to use the element of suprise to catch it." Hawktalon sat upon the ground, his fur twitching every few moments. His amber eyes glittering.

Moonpaw nodded. She scented the air,and closed her eyes. Taking a deep breath. Immersing herself in the scent of the forest. She caught the scent of a rabbit. The wind was blowing from it. She smiled. Its not going to scent me. She then crouched and started to slowly stalk forward. Her belly fur,barely above the grass. She crept up on it. She then pounced,and caught him,and sank her claws into it. She then bit its neck. Putting out of its misery.
She then picked it up and dragged it back to Hawktalon.

"Good job. We could now go and hunt the deer together, if you'd like!" Hawktalon smiled. Sitting down.

Moonpaw flicked her ears. "Ok." She then titled her head upwards. And opened her maw. She scent a herd not far from there. She glanced at Hawktalon. "Follow me." She then dashed off. She skidded to a stop at the end of a clearing she watched the group of deer much on the grass. She sniffed,waiting for her mentor.
