Amberleaf was calm as she padded to the training area. This was her first apprentice and she hoped that she wouldn't mess it up. She felt she was honored with the privilege of teaching Hurricanepaw. She waited for her apprentice.

The goofy big pawed apprentice lolloped up his face in its normal slightly crazed grin. As he skidded to a halt the crazed grin faded to be replaced with a fawning look. He was smitten with his mentor and he was trying his best to hide it. He sat down and flicked his ears "where do we start Amberleaf?"

Amberleaf gave a brief smile, her eyes had something hidden in them but she always had that. She was asked what they were doing, and she figured the fighting basics would be good. "Battle training, attack me, try your best." She said with a challenging tone. Her graceful step as she gazed around her.

The big pawed apprentice had grown alot since his pup days, he was tall and lanky, his paws still a bit big for his frame. He shook out his fur and crouched down watching amberleaf with his gray gaze. He leapt aiming to slip between her front legs and scratch at her belly with his black claws.

Amberleaf grinned as his eyes deceived him. It gave her time to move out of the way and score a hit, hopefully. She launched herself at his back paw when it appeared she was aiming for his back. Her ears were carefully perked to listen for the slightest movements. All was good for now, but whether it would be or not in a bit was yet to be determined.

Hurricanepaw let out a suprised grunt as he skidded around in the dust, He yelped feeling amberleafs sharp white teeth in his back leg. He began struggling wildly, using his tail to try and bash the other wolf in the face. balancing on his three legs he continued shaking his back leg.

Amberleaf grinned at her apprentice as she let his leg go, a fierce determination could only get wolf so far in their training, they needed more. "You can't let your eyes deceive you Hurricanepaw, I saw where you were aiming and I knew where you were going. At the same time, don't trust where everyone looks because they might be trying to deceive you." She said, nothing but a calm and kind voice to her.

The steel and storm gray wolf nodded eyes glittering determindly. He wagged his tail and backed up, he stared intently at amberleafs face before he threw himself at her. Instead of actually attacking her he slid under her light frame and came up behind her. He swung a paw aiming to bat at her tail.
