"Yup!" Dawnpaw grinned, swishing her tail. "Let's start!" she took her position and started to sniff the air. "I smell... A groundhog, I think." she indicated a hole by a tree nearby.

Snowflower nodded and turned her head to the sound and scent. "Indeed."she said. "Try and catch it."she said with eyes shining with happiness. At least Dawnpaw was with her, her third apprentice. Snowflower looked to the hole and sniffed the air once more.

Dawnpaw crouched down onto her belly and crept towards the hole. She watched behind a bush as the groundhog peeked out from it's burrow and sniffed the air. Dawnpaw held her breath. Thankfully, they were upwind and the animal didn't scent them. The groundhog crept out of his burrow, sensing no danger. It snuffled around the roots of the nearby tree, then suddenly stopped as Dawnpaw crept foward an inch. The groundhog paused. Something was wrong. Just then, Dawnpaw pounced and took the animal's life with a bite and bowed her head to give thanks for the life she took. After a moment, she dragged the limp body back to her mentor.

Snowflower gave a nod of approval. "Well done."she said. "Now, go ahead and eat."she smiled. "You should be hungry, take that as your meal."said the femme. She padded over to a tree, waiting.

'I am hungry, but the Clan must be fed before ourselves,' Dawnpaw quoted a line from the warrior code.
She buried the groundhog under a layer of dirt. ' Maybe I'll find a rabbit after I hunt some morefor the Clan,' she said.

"Ok then."she smiled. "I'll get more food to help out with the clan."she said. "You eat that."Snowflower said. She got up nd started hunting for prey. What she needed was a rabbits nest, an old trick to gather several carcasses which served the clan as food at once.

Dawnpaw nodded. She padded of to search for food. She scented a rabbit near her and killed it. She dug a shallow hole and buried the carcass in there.

Snowflower got all the rabbits in a burrow and brought them over two by two. She looked to Dawnpaw and smiled. She took a rabbit and put it in front of her. "Eat this."she said.

'Thanks,' Dawnpaw took the rabbit. She demolished it with a couple of bites. 'This is tastes awesome!' she told SnowFlower, mouth full.

Snowflower smiled to her apprentice. "Ok. Ready for a bit more hunting for the clan?"she asked. Waiting for the apprentice's enthusiastic response. She smiled.

'Yes!' The little WindClan apprentice said happily. She sprung to her feet, tail waving. 'I think I smell something,' she announced.
