This is Runningpaw's training with Firestar. Anybody is welcome to join in if they want to.

Firestar's amber eyes blinked as she looked around the sandy hollow, her head swimming with memories of all the things that she'd experienced here. The firey wolf loved the ThunderClan territory because of its beauty, hunting grounds and the wolves. And Windstorm, her mate. She shook her head to clear it and shifted on her haunches as she looked around for Runningpaw.

Runningpaw walked into the clearing feeling thrilled. "I can't believe the Clan leader is my mentor!" He thought.He looked up as he saw Firestar already there. Smiling Runningpaw crouched and begun to creep forward silently. "ROAR!!!" He howled leaping on top of his mentor. I'm a badger! Look out!"

(Ok. Runningpaw, Emberpaw is going to be Mosseybreeze's apprentice.)

The firey leader laughed, rolling over. "A badger! The warrior defends!" she said, smiling. Firestar was presently in one of her sunny moods. "So, shall we begin your training?" Firestar asked. She stood up, her firey pelt rippling as she did so. He was really brave when the coyotes attacked the camp. The firey wolf looked at her young apprentice.

"Ok! Can we start with fighting first?" He asked. Getting to his paws he shook his fur. "I want to be the best warrior ever!" He said.

Firestar smiled. "Very well, let's begin. Now you can use your paws for many things in a fight including this trick. A swift flurry of paws in the face can distract or stun your enemy." She demonstrated it, using a rock: pummeling it fast. "Now let's see you try." Firestar waited for Runningpaw to make his move.

Runningpaw nodded.He walked down where the rock was. Very quickly the wolf swiped his paws across across the stone. It went rolling back several tail lengths. He turned to Firestar. "How was that?"

She nodded, Runningpaw was quick with his paws. "That was good, a little faster next time maybe. Now try it on me." The ThunderClan leader shook herself and then crouched, ready.

Runningpaw smiled and crouched low to the ground. The he sprinted towards Firestar. He swiped his paws across his face. Then he stepped back quickly. "how was that?"

"That was good", Firestar's amber eyes glowed. "Now for some defence." The firey leader flourished her paws and showed her apprentice how to use them to block attacks. "You can also deflect enemies and objects with your paws." Firestar launched a few blows at Runningpaw, watching his moves.

Runningpaw blocked with his paws when Firestar attacked. He easily blocked the first and second blow. But then Firestar lashed out again. Runningpaw then stumbled back and felt his tail hurt. He turned around to see that his tail had been caught by a thorn Bush. "Ow!" He said. He then pulled out his tail and picked a few thorns from it embarrassed.

Firestar saw her apprentice stumble backwards into a thornbush and padded over, slightly concerned. "Don't worry about it. I was just like you in my training." She smiled reassuringly at Runningpaw. Firestar stepped back a few steps. "Now an important thing to know is keeping you tail tucked in between your legs. It helps you balance and also gives your enemy less to bite."
