| Foxpaw trotted on the spot nervoursly she wanted to impress shadestar and prove that she wasnt just a ex thunderclan wolf. the young wolf had found herself feircly loyal to the grumpy leader. he was her idol, probbaly not the best choice for an idol but an idol all the same. flicking her ears hearing heavy pawsteps she sat down and tried to keep her tail from twitching. | |

| Shadestar trotted to the clearing where most of their training would take place. He noted with satisfaction that his new apprentice was there on time as he asked. Seating himself in front of her he began speaking. "Did you learn anything of use while you were in ThunderClan?" He had taken a special interest in the strange-looking wolf, particularly because she used to be from an enemy Clan. Of course there was still a distrust that he had, at least until Foxpaw proved to him completely that he was loyal to StormClan no matter what. Perhaps, then, he would be able to forgive and forget. Until then he saw her as a weapon. If she knew ThunderClan territory that well, perhaps a scouting mission would put her to good use, or some other important task. She appeared to be light and quick which would aid StormClan well. | |

| She gave a flick of her ears "no, Rainwhisper didnt bother to teach me a single thing, to busy lolliping about with that great oaf nightowl". her brown eyes were sharp as she watched her mentor. she was ready to almost die to prove herself to her idol. she was now rigid and calm her fox pelt shining with cleanliness. | |

| Shadestar's eyes narrowed slightly. Mentors had a connection with their apprentices, a bond made in front of the eyes of StarClan. Why would one shirk their duties to give their attention to a mate? The leader's respect level for ThunderClan wolves fell even further, as if it wasn't negative already. Sighing the black male continued, "We can start with fighting then, and move onto hunting and tracking afterwards. Perhaps we could also delve into herbs and medicine while we're at it, though I have a mediocre knowledge of that." Lightdawn had taught him all he knew while he watched his sister work. He could give that knowledge to his new apprentice.
Now standing up, the black male moved himself into a defensive stance. "Attack me," he ordered. Shadestar believed that the easiest and most valuable way of teaching was through experiencing it and making mistakes. He watched his apprentice carefully.

| Foxpaw nodded and watched his stance, waiting calmly for any sort of weaknesses. seeing his tail swinging out she went for that. she had already noticed that it wasnt tucked behind him as thunderclan wolves did. perhaps she could teach them some moves as well. | |

| Shadestar watched and did not move as Foxpaw came closer and suddenly leaped forward, attacking his tail. He calmly moved away slightly, still in a defensive stance, but out of the range of her teeth. "Going for extremities is a good idea," he said, "But attacking the tail wouldn't do too much damage unless you were trying to distract an enemy while fighting with a friend." The leader paused for a moment. "Attacking for the legs and paws is a good idea, though, as long as you are not directly in front of your opponent's jaws or they could quickly turn the attack on you. If you're fighting a larger opponent, such as a bear or a larger wolf, a good attack is to jump onto their back and bite their scruff and claw them. The advantage will only be for a few moments if they manage to shake you off, but any advantage counts. Try aiming for my paws this time." | |

| She perked her large ears and nodded enthusiastically. she watched his defensive stance then raced around as fast as her black legs could carry her and went for his back paw. she opened her maw to lightly grab onto his paw if her attack hit. several thoughts raced through her mind, the excitement of having a new mentor, her wonder of shadestar and her determination to be accepted by him. she was glad that she had gotten him as a mentor so that way noone else could say that she hadnt earned the right to be a warrior when he decided that she was ready. | |

| Shadestar watched as the quick-footed apprentice was in front of him, and then biting his paw almost immediately afterwards. He grimaced slightly as her claws lightly scratched his leg, and then her teeth bit down. The leader lifted his leg up and attempted to shake himself free. Turning his body so he could see his attacker, Shadestar sent a light paw-strike down, aiming for her head. "To become a master at fighting, defensive and offensive tactics go hand in hand," he said to her. | |

| She released his back paw then sent her own paw up toward his one, aiming to strike it back in an offensive and defensive move. she was moving by instinct, she found that this was glorious. she let out a reserved grin she skuttled out from under him coming out on the oppisite side that he was looking at. | |

| Foxpaw successfully blocked the light paw stroke going for her head, and then seemed to disappear for a few moments. Following the reddish wolf, he whipped his head around and moved his body so he was facing towards her. "Good," he replied. "Keep going." | |

Well im not very big but im fast, so i could use that against him liking this idea very much she feinted toward him then slipped under him. turning onto her back she shot her legs up to try and scrape at his sensitive underbelly.

| (Sorry about not posting, I'm super busy. I'll give you an extra 10 training points to wherever you'd like for the lost time)
Shadestar winced as the apprentice lithely used a move he'd rarely seen used against him and scratched against his belly. Jumping into the air to get away from the claws, he landed nearby and then made a counter move to leap on top of the apprentice and pin her to the ground. He then attempted to make a mock death bite to the neck. The apprentice was learning quickly and appeared to be intelligent. StormClan could make good use of her.

| (could i have ten points to defensive fighting?) Foxpaw yelped as she felt his weight on her, she wriggled and moved her neck out of the way of his mock death bite and sunk her fangs defensivley onto his muzzle. she didnt grip hard it was just practise after all. the fox apprentice thought about things, Shadesstar was used to the going limp trick, so... she used all of her strength to use him as an anchor. Gripping harder on his muzzle she pulled herself out from under him. | |

| Shadestar twisted his muzzle, attempting to rid himself of the sharp teeth that were suddenly buried in his skin. The prey beneath him squirmed and struggled and Shadestar backed off, breaking away from the apprentice to stand across from her in another defensive stance. "You are doing well, Foxpaw," Shadestar noted, impressed by her ability of improvisation regarding her fighting moves. "If you are ever caught in that position again you can also attempt to scratch the belly of your opponent. Most warriors will avoid the death bite as it is dishonorable, but I wouldn't put it past some of the wolves of other Clans.. Now then, continue." | |

| She nodded as he informed her of scratching ones opponets belly, her sharp brown eyeswatched him intently. she stared at her paws investigating the dust... her ears flicked with an idea and she turned. scraping her back feet through the dust she basically threw a dust cloudat shadestar. using this as cover she tiptoed through it to leap aiming atone of his ears. | |

| Suddenly a cloud of dust rose around him and Shadestar sneezed, moving his head away. Then he felt the weight of a wolf on his head. It pulled him downwards towards the ground. Scrambling, he moved his head back and forth wildly in an attempt to rid himself of his attacker while also using his claws to scratch. | |

| The weight was now on his back and the large black wolf reared upwards. His apprentice had a tight hold on his scruff and he could feel that the apprentice had broken skin. Shadestar wobbled forwards, turning backwards and then rearing up and falling backwards so the apprentice was squished against a rock. He shook his head back and forth trying to rid himself of his attacker. | |

| Shadestar felt the weight release and so he turned to look at Foxpaw. "Sorry if I took it a little too far," he grunted, "But being prepared for battle completely is necessary. You never know when the other Clans are going to decide we did something to them and then attack us. Sometimes we never find out until the wolves are already at our camps, biting at our scruffs."
Thinking to himself about what the girl could learn next, he said, "Okay, for a couple minutes we can try this: I'm going to attack you now and you defend yourself and attack me if you'd like. Then we can move on to something else." He moved towards the apprentice slowly, making sure that she did hear his words correctly before he attempted to attack her. Quickly raising a paw in the air, he slashed forwards like he would if he was going for the face of a wolf, though did it much more lightly as to not hurt her.

| Foxpaw instead of shyingaway from the attack met it with her own teeth. as the paw was right above her shelaunched herself up her jaws closing around the sides of hish paw. crushing them together. her brown eyes sparkled as she fought. she enjoyed training with shadestar. | |
