Rainwhisper lied down by her friend's side and licked the pups gently. In her paws were three new bundles of life. She did not think of anything but how great it was to see life bloom. She smiled to Feather, "Congrats, you're a mom." She spoke in a soft whisper and licked her friend's tired face gently.

Feathersoul's face fell. "Yes, but that means I've also brought three little lives into this world; little ones who can never be normal." Not only had she broken the Warrior Code, but she had put Rainwhisper, Nightowl and her pups in danger, all because of her mistake. My mistake...

Rainwhisper had forgotten, her face shadowed over. Yet she kept optimistic, "But they will be normal! They will be great! Don't think about that now! ?If they dare do something to you, they are bigger fools than we see them as. Look at your pps! They are beautiful!"

Feathersoul smiled. "Yes, they are beautiful. I think they deserve names." She paused, her mind blank. I never thought about this before... Feeling little warm splashed on her, the black fae looked up at the starry sky. Of course, she couldn't see anything, but she could feel the soft splashes of rain against her face. It was a warm rain, comforting her. She felt at peace now, as if StarClan was saying everything was okay, settling the storm she had whipped up. She peered down at her largest pup, a little brute. "Stormpup," she whispered, licking his blue-gray fur. "My little Stormpup."

Rainwhisper smiled, "Great! Oh it's perfect!" She too could feel the warm rain as it drizzled lightly. To Rain, the rain ws the most comforting thing. It was warmer than being curled up around friends and kinder than words. The rain was everything to her. She smiled down at Feather.

Feathersoul pulled away from Stormpup, gazing down at the small tawny-and-white pup. Her fur was so unusual, so unique. She smiled, glancing at Rainwhisper. "I'll call you Leafpup." She stared at Rainwhisper. "Because I remember how much Rainwhisper would watch the rain upon the forest leaves when we were pups."

Rainwhisper smiled at her friend. Such memories were old. "I remember doing that. It's perfect." She smiled and nudged Leafpup, "Welcome you two..."

Feathersoul growled playfully, lifting a tired paws and batting it at Rainwhisper. She turned back to the last remaining pup. He was bigger than Stormpup, but smaller than Leafpup, right in the middle. "I..." She thought for a moment. In the middle. She thought about Nightowl, his thick black fur and her sleek fluffy one. Black and white... "Graypup." It seemed like a good fit for her little one as she bent over, licking the little mop of fur on his head.

Rainwhisper smiled and nudged the pups closer to their mother so they could all suckle. "Congrats to you and your family." Rainwhisper still refused the though of Nightowl being the father. She refused it with all her might, she wanted it to be a lie or to be told straightforward. With a soft smile and sigh she padded to the river having grabbed a wad of moss to soak it with water and take it to the new mother.

Feathersoul nodded in thanks, taking the wet moss thankfully. She lapped at it, sucking out some of the moisture and curling around her pups tighter, letting them suckle. She could see the shadow of doubt on Rainwhisper's face, feeling guilty all of a sudden. I could ruin them by my mistake. She glanced down at her three pups. My mistake... She looked up, a false glint of humor and joy in her eyes. "Don't worry, Nightowl is all yours."

Rainwhisper smiled slightly, but did not respond. She offered a better smile and nodded, "I'll let you bond..." She walked away and knelt down by the river and began to lap carefully at the water. The water rippled with the rain drops and as she lapped at it with care. she didn't allow herself to think of anything bad, nope nothing. She shook her head, the chain rattling slightly. She felt pressure in her on tummy and smiled scratching her side carefully. Soon...

Feathersoul smiled at her friend. The fae sighed. "So, what are you thinking your pups will look like?" The Medicine Wolf tried to pass the time, for she knew they would be here a while.

Rainwhisper lifted her head from the flowing water, and looked back at her friend. In the little light the sliver of moon offered Rain's muzzle looked slightly different. The female was aging just like everything around her. She shook out her pelt. "I have no idea. I'm just happy to have another chance." She padded over to Feathersoul and lied down by her friends side.

Feathersoul chuckled. "You mean with Falconwing?" This was a second chance for her as well. It was a chance for her to save those who she couldn't. Fullpup, Lunaeclipse, Adderpaw, Phoenixstar, Icefrost, and so many others. She felt like a piece of all of them was in her pups, like each of them had been reborn in an unexplainable way.

Rainwhisper nodded, "Yeah the poor creature. he was the reason for so much." She smiled and watched the pups with kind eyes. Rain liked pups, but she did have to admit she had little patience for them. They either listened or else. It was the way she was. She smiled and repeated Feather's pups names in her head.

Feathersoul grinned. She lifted her mussel, opening her jaws wide to catch the warm rain that continued to fall. Her pups whined and snorted, and the fae curled around them tighter. "I miss days like this."

Graypup whimpered. He shivered in the warm air. Even if it was warm, he still needed the warmth of his mother. He stuck close to her and suckled.

Rainwhisper looked down at the young pup and at Feathersoul. She smiled, "Any good day is missed, for it seems only bad days are ahead. But sometimes we have to let go of the past... and move on." She smiled and nudged them all with care. "I will be right back." The white pawed female walked to the rivers edge and looked down into the clear water. Her refelection shone dully, and it quickly erased the smile she had. Looking at her reflection, none of her happiness shone with it. An empty shell looked back at her. A non living thing, that had no purpose but to later fade away. the blank expression, ruffled fur... Rain saw what she truly felt deep inside. She was carrying pups. She could feel their kicks, yet no matter how full she was an empty feeling descended over the female. She did not know what such a feeling could be for, or why she felt it. She had few ideas but decided not to think about it as she knelt down to slowly lap at the water. She lapped and lapped at it, sticking her muzzel further into the water as time passed, untill she had completely submerged her head into the water.

Warm rain, warm breeze, warmth all around. The pup was envolped in a world of warmth and the sweet smell of milk. she could smell the faint herby smell of her mother and crept closer, not to suckle or paw at her but simply to lay calmly by her mothers warmth. The rock beneath her was rather warm as well, so there was nothing towhine or cry about as she rested her paws by her mothers own. A small smile was upon her baby face, as Leafpup smiled at the world she was now in.

Feathersoul smiled as her pups began to slightly respond. Curling up tighter, she bent down, giving a lick to each of her precious bundles of life. At Graypup's whimpering and shivering, the Medicine Wolf curled around them tighter, resting her mussel upon his head gently.

Graypup stopped whimpering. He curled into a tight ball with his mother around as well. The pup suckled happily, having the warmth of his mom. It was a shame he couldn't open his eyes yet.

Leafpup could smell and feel everything around her. She could feel the three warmths around her. Her milky herb scented mother and her two brothers. The she-pup snuggled closer to her mum in an attempt to be the warmest. Her soft ears twitched slightly as she explored the world without sight.

Rainwhisper pulled her head out, her face twisted in pain. It was a silent scream, a silent gasp of hurt as she felt her whole body seem to tighten where she knelt. She stood frozen, locked in place. Not that she wished not to move, she couldn't. And once she could, she didn't want to. It was if the world froze and if she moved even a bit, the whole world seemed ready to break. Rain's black ears flattened to her head as she closed her eyes in a silent curse.

Feathersoul's head snapped up at Rainwhisper's groan. Its time... Reluctantly, she stood up, glancing around feverishly. She dashed to the edge of the clearing, scraping up clawfulls of moss. She padded back over to her pups, tucking them around moss. She rushed over to Rainwhisper's side, the leaf wrap in her jaws. She spat it out, slicing it open. "Don't worry. Just move away from the river a bit."

Rainwhisper looked at Feathersoul, sure it had been easy for her to say it and watch. But now it was actually happening again. Yet without complain the female began to take ginger steps backwards. Her eyes kept on the ground, as her tense body slowly but surely backed away from the river. She repeated to herself, time and time again. It's going to be fine for you too...
