Old ShadowClan Camp

A camp is a site where a Clan makes its permanent home. It is where the wolves sleep, meet, bring fresh-kill,get treated for injuries or illness, receive orders, and make reports to the Clan leader or deputy. Some wolves, such as queens, kits and elders stay in the camp, while the warriors, deputy and leader patrol the territory and hunt. Each Clan has one camp.

ShadowClan camp is surrounded by prickly brambles and bushes and hidden in a well-concealed hollow. There are constant patrols sent out and the camp and borders are fiercely guarded. There is a small, always guarded path leading to and into the camp. The leader's den is located underneath a large oak tree. You must gain entrance and not enter the den without permission. Near the edge of the clearing of camp there is a large, smooth boulder used for meetings and announcements. Right next to that boulder, there is a smaller rock. Underneath this rock is a cave where the Medicine Wolf resides. Sick and injured Clan members visit and get aid there. The warrior's den is located underneath bramble bushes and is lined with moss and pine needles. There is also another thorn bush. This is the nursery where new born pups and their mothers live until the pups have grown.

Despite the fact that RiverClan and ShadowClan had combined, both camps are still used frequently by each Clan.

Darkfeather thought long and hard about the pup's question before an answer came out. "Poppy seeds, but they require being eaten" her nose twitched at the next question as she had to think harder. "No other roots, but there is Marigold." The canid glanced at Apachepup and shook her head "burdock is better to be chewed." A smile curled upon her face "good thinking, that is possible to help them swallow it, it would require some water and you would need to tip there head back so the juices would be swallowed along with the water."

Sky cringed slightly at the thought of being force-fed something, "At least it helps them get better." he argued with himself. He blinked softly at the herb and started to doze off.

It was dark...no, it was bright. Too bright for anything to be seen. Sky sniffed the air but nothing could be smelled. How was that possible? He started to walk. But was he? Gah! This is so confusing! Skypup growled in his head, I don't know which way's forward, don't know which way's down! He let out a sigh and sat down. No use to fight the stupid thing.

Up head (maybe), Skypup could see a dark figure. It crept closer to him. Closer. Until it was nose to nose with him. The creature blinked once. Twice. Three times. Then it smiled. A slow, creepy smile. And let out a laugh that resembled a hyena's. That's when everything went black.

Skypup shook his head to snap himself out of the...strange dream. He looked up at Darkfeather and smiled, not even knowing his eyes had flickered amber, "What else do you have?" he asked.

Apache nodded as he listened to Darkfeather's words comitting them all tomemory for future use. He was an odd pup, from the get go he thought more about the future then a young wolf should. Thinking as he tried to picture the action of helping another to swallow, would it help to stroke their throat? As he pictured swallowing the pup wondered if something like would be useful, but he was distracted by Skypup's question. For a moment he looked at his fellow pup, something seemed stranger, for a moment it seemed like he wasn't with them.

Confused the pup brushed it aside as excitement flooded through the pup at the prospect of learning more, brushing aside any serious thoughts about helping another wolf swallow something. He watched the medicine wolf expectantly, his wide eyes never missing a thing.

Skypup eyed the lavender quickly before staring at the Death Berries. He crouched down and got as close as he could to them without coming in contact. He sniffed them a few times before pulling away. He nodded, "You keep a limited supply here, right?" he asked, slightly worried and cautious about the deadly fruit.

Apache cocked his head as he took in the delicate purple flower, before his golden eyes turned to the Death Berries. A chill ran up the pup's spine at the thought of such a small and unassuming thing being able to kill a wolf, he made a mental note never to touch or allow anyone else to touch the berries. he remained silent when Skypup asked about the quantity of berries kept in the den, proffering to listen rather then speak.

"What would happen if you had some without poison in your system?" the pale pup asked the she-wolf. He looked more closely at the yarrow before he focused his emerald gaze back up at Darkfeather.

Lowering his head Apachepup sniffed at the yarrow, taking in its bitter scent before looking back up at Darkfeather curious to see how she would answer Skypups question. So many question whirled in the pups mind that he didn't know where to start, but he held his tongue not wanting to overwhelm the medicine wolf.

Skypup flinched softly at the physical contact but still made his way from the Medicine Den. He sighed at the sight of the sky. It was darker, a deep shade of gray that rivaled a wet stone. Sky walked back over to the Nursery and climbed inside. It was best to get away from the clouds, they were making him a little woozy.

Apache allowed himself to be pushed from the den, his mind so full of information and question that he felt it would burst. Taking a moment to gaze up t the angry gray sky the young pup shivered, the coming storm would be bad; he could feel it. At that particular moment the pup's stomach chose to growl, loudly declaring to the male that it was still hungry.

Brushing aside the worry that has settled over his small heart the pup scrambled after Skypup, determined to reach the den before he did, but he had hesitated to long and the other pup was inside before Apache had reached the entrance. Giving one last glance up at the darkened sky the pup entered the den, even though it was dim outside the male still had to wait for his eyes to adjust to the gloom of the den.

Once he could see sufficiently Apache pounced on his rabbit a laugh escaping his lips, settling down he bit into the prey. The salty tang of blood filling his mouth as he hungrily devoured the rabbit. When a thought caused him pause, looking up at Skypup Apache spoke. "Would you like some?" he asked, scooting over to allow the other pup room to sit next to him and share the kill.

Skypup looked up from his thoughts about the storm. "Thanks." he nodded and gave Apache a small smile. He leaned forward and bit into a piece of flesh that was a little away from the other pup's so they didn't hit each other while eating. The blood from the kill oozed over his canines and down his chin, staining it red. He ripped off a small bit of meat and chewed it casually.

Gulping down a piece of meat before speaking the pup asked, "So, you enjoy the visit with Darkfeather? " Taking another bite the pup swallowed and continued, "Some of the things she showed were pretty cool, I wonder what she'll show us tomorrow."

Skypup nodded, "They were very interesting." He took another bite of the prey. He thought a moment before swallowing and saying, I really wanna see what other plants she uses. But I know I'll never remember it all." Sky let out a small laugh before he resumed eating.

Apache laughed his agreement, "My brain feels likes it's been stuffed full of rabbit fur, how does she remember it all?" He said before taking another bite, contemplating what they had learned. he had always had a pretty good memory, but he wasn't sure if he'd be able to remember everything Darkfeather had said. Shrugging he though, oh well, I can always ask her to repeat everything. "it looks pretty bad out there, "he finally said, motioning with his snout toward the entrance of the den, "The storm is going to be bad, I can feel it."

The male shrugged, "One must have a great memory to do what a Medicine Wolf does." He took another bite and looked in the direction Apache motioned to. He nodded, "I know, I can feel it too. And I don't have a good feeling about it."

Finishing his half of the rabbit the young pup yawned, "maybe one day I'll have a really good memory like that." he said, "Although, I don't think I'm cut out to be a medicine wolf. The smell of the herbs really gets to me." Sparing the entrance another glance the pup nodded, one did not have to live for very long to realize a storm that big could be very dangerous. I did not dare think about what could happen to the pack, his young imagination had ways of running wild.

Skypup nudged Apachepup, "You never know." he smiled, "One can adapt for something they love." Inwardly the pup flinched, but he tried hard not to show it. Giving the other a small smile, Sky finished off the rabbit and laid his head down between his paws. He avoided the entrance and instead watched some of the thorns, making strange pictures out of them.

The pup returned the smile and the friendly nudge. "True, I bet I could become a fish if I really tried. "He teased, "I'm sure the Riverclan wolves have gills somewhere." he allowed silence to fall between them, never certain what to say around males, he was more at home around females.

Sky laughed, "If that's true, then WindClan have wings, ThunderClan sleeps in the clouds, and we can become someone's shadow." He smiled, "Though that'd be really fun, wouldn't it?"

"Now that would be pretty cool!" he agreed before a yawn caused his jaws to open wide. A small whine escaped his mouth as his yawn came to an end, blinking away tiredness Apache smiled and Sky. "Looks like I'm falling asleep, next thing I know I'll be having a conversation with you in my sleep about blue squirrels and purple ducks."

Laying his head on his pus the pup ran his tongue along his muzzle in an attempt to clean as much blood from his fur as possible. "Want to go find Darkfeather tomorrow? " he asked, struggling to keep his eyes open, "Maybe she'll show us how to find herbs."

Skypup nodded, he himself growing tired as well, "Sure." he said, nodding off, "Maybe she'll know where the pink turtles hide their overflowing supply of jumping beans." Sky laughed and leaned against Apachepup. "Sounds-" he let out a yawn, "-like a plan."

Yawns were contagious, that was what the pup had decided as a yawn parting his jaws after Skypup yawned. "Maybe they'll also tell us where to find the blue frogs that teach people how to fly." he mumbled, moving in closer to Skypup. "Lets do it...." The pup trailed away as he drifted of to sleep.

"Mkay." Skypup mumbled into Apache's fur as he buried his nose in it. "We can also ask about the snakes that talk to ShadowClan wolves." he smiled. It sounds...fun....." Sky trailed off as his breaths became more even and he drifted off to sleep.
