Tourmaline is Graystar's sixth character, though could be considered as my fifth due to Twistedfoot’s slot being won from a contest

Description

Body Type: Medium; Tourmaline is the normal size for an Australian Cattle Dog
Eye Color: Her left eye is an icy blue, and her right is a dark brown
Main Fur Color and Description: Tourmaline’s pelt is made up mainly of a slightly sandy tan. She has darker strands of fur like a lot of Australian Cattle Dogs have, as well.
Markings: Tourmaline’s most noticeable marking would be the darker, sandy-brown half-mask over her left eye. She also has slightly lighter fur on her chest and underbelly, and slight orange-tan markings on the sides of her muzzle.

Personality

Personality:
Tourmaline may have been named after a crystal, though her personality certainly is far from that. She is extremely stubborn, and persistent, only doing what she wants unless some other dog or wolf means much to her. She is brave and not really what you'd define as loyal. Tourmaline can be cold and not very friendly to those she doesn't know, or even those she's known since she was a pup. As an Australian Cattle Dog, she is very fast on her paws and good at herding. If a dog, or even a wolf, takes the time to know her, you might find out that Tourmaline can actually be nice and a good friend, at least to a point.

History:
Tourmaline and her siblings, Jasper and River, were born on Cecil Boulevard. They are all purebred dogs. As there were only three pups, the owners decided to keep them all. Tourmaline and River were the more, not necessarily annoying, but somewhat the meanest of the litter, while Tourmaline’s brother, Jasper, was the quiet and shy pup who mainly stayed by their house. At the age of a year, their owners left, taking the pups' parents with them but leaving the pups. They were alone, and had to leave the house after a while. They became strays; and tried finding a pack. They couldn't find anything, and after months of living on the streets in a different part of Hartford, their sister, River, left to start her own pack. Tourmaline and Jasper didn't go with her. They were now just under two years old, and Tourmaline decided they could try seeing if there was room for them in the forest. Instead, upon meeting up with some wolves from one of the Clans, they were made to leave. Tourmaline had been bitter towards Clan wolves since then; in fact, she’s almost can’t believe that she joined a Clan herself. Jasper had wanted to go back and see if they could find their housefolk, however, Tourmaline said no and the two traveled on. When they were two years and five months, a dogcatcher came, taking Jasper and moving him far away from his sister. Tourmaline was angry about it and continued to try to search for her brother, but to no avail. Even if she did find out where the pound was, she wouldn’t be able to get there herself. The cattle dog had wandered around after that, staying nearby the park for about a month. She was fed by some of the younger Twolegs, and though she wouldn’t admit it, probably would have stayed at the park longer if it hadn’t been for dogcatchers starting to frequent the area. Tourmaline left, and was now 2 years and 7 months. The cattle dog found a barn, and stayed inside of it for a while as it rained outside. When the weather was sunny, Tourmaline decided that the barn could be a good place to live. She gathered grass and some feathers, and built a den nearby the outside of the barn. Tourmaline had been there for some time, before she decided to go back to the park, and upon there was asked about joining a pack. Tourmaline had declined their offer, though being curious, and also suspicious as the pack was setting a camp nearby the barn, she followed them anyways. Tourmaline learned the pack’s to be leader was named Sheogorath, and was appointed as one of the betas. The pack disbanded later, and Tourmaline again found herself on the streets before she went back to her barn. Later on, wolves began to come to the barn, and Tourmaline was approached by a wolf named Ripplestone, who, as much as Tourmaline also wouldn’t admit it, somewhat convinced her to join SunClan. Tourmaline is an apprentice in the Clan now, and hopes she’ll sometime be able to find her brother, Jasper.

Facts

Tourmaline was originally made to join Sheogorath’s pack

Tourmaline’s sister, River, is actually a character I roleplayed on a previous stray dog roleplay on this site (River was a leader in the roleplay, so in Tourmaline’s history, River left to start her own pack because of this)

Tourmaline and most of her family’s names all have to do with gemstones

Tourmaline was originally a housepet, even though she wouldn’t admit it

Thanks! Australian Shepherds and Australian Cattle Dogs are some of my favorite dogs also.
