Rainwhisper & Echopaw training

Echopaw dashed into the clearing. She had a huge headace from tumbling off Sunningrocks; but she ignored it. She then called out;
"I'm here!"
Maybe physically, but her mind was on Stormpaw. He saved her life; and she ran off to train like an idiot. She sighed, what if Stormpaw didn't like her anymore? She pushed to the back of her mind and tried to focus.
"Why don't we start on hunting?" The she-wolf suggested, noticing her mentor's swollen belly.

Rainwhisper began to climb down from the low hanging branch as her apprentice called out. Her round belly swaying with a soft sway and gleaming with a soft air of life. She presented herself to the apprentice and smiled. "Alright! But if you are going to train with me give me and the training full attention. Don't mind anything else, except for the training. Got it?" Her smile hinted mischief but her eyes were keen and ready. "Now remember, we are Thunderclan known for stalking in the undergrowth. Now use all your senses, nose ears and then your eyes. Sniff the air or floor. Listen for the cracking undergrowth and spot for prints or fur stuck on a bush." Rain knew prey was lacking, but they would find some.

Echopaw nodded. She closed her eyes and sniffed the world around her. Hare the scent was mingled with Windclan's and she sprung foward right as it ran past her; she tore its ear but it got away.
"Darn!" Echopaw muttered, she couldn't believe she missed such an easy shot.

Rainwhisper sat down and watched the hare run off. She sighed and ran after it herself as Echopaw missed. Shortly after Rain came back, holding the hare by its scruff. She dropped it on the ground, and it made not a sound or move. "I'm sorry, couldn't help it and we can't lose precious prey right now. Thunderclan is short on prey. " The dark, white-pawed female sat down. "What do you think you did wrong?" She had to ask first before telling the apprentice.

"I didn't give it enough time to feel safe so it expected my attack." Echopaw awnsered glaring at the dead hare. She sighed; she was so embarresed that she missed the kill. She swept dust dissapointidly with her tail.

Rainwhisper nodded but did not answer to that. She positioned herself in front of Echopaw and lowered herself completely close to the ground, where her fur brushed the floor. She spoke in a whisper, "We stalk, you dashed. Stalking, is what we are made for. Next time stalk it, take your time, no one will rush you."

Echopaw nodded; she was ready to try again. This time she saw a plump squirrel. She crept foward and struck it with a death blow in the neck. The she-wolf was filled with pride as she gazed at her kill.

Rainwhisper nodded and watched her, stuck slightly in her crouching position so she lied down. "Good, good. Next time, lower your rump a bit more, you looked like you wanted to play instead of truly catch the squirrel, but you caught it nonetheless." The female smiled and rolled over quickly, while she stood. "Good, one caught, one missed. Now track anything else you can."

Echopaw nodded. She sniffed the air; but she couldn't scent any prey.
"Theres no more prey in this area." Echopaw reported to her mentor.
She glanced at her mentor's swollen belly once more, she really didn't want to battle train with Rainwhisper's condition.

Rainwhisper nodded, "Then lets go scout or it." Rain raised her head high, and looked around, "Go wherever you want, we don't have to stay here to train." She smiled and her tail wagged slightly, as her nose twitched attempting to catch the scent of prey.

Echopaw looked up. She suddenly caught a slight wiff of… bird? She narrowed her eyes and glanced up; it was dangling on a low tree branch. Before it could fly away, she leapt up and snapped her jaws around the prey. She dropped it and wagged her tail, proud ofher accomplishment.

Rainwhisper watched the younger female, curious at how she stood and what she did to catch the bird that perched on a branch nearby. She smiled, not wanting to crush her apprentice's spirits at her catch but it was training. "Great job, just remember if you are jumping up, most of your weight goes onto your hind legs that way you push yourself higher. Another thing to remember is, fighting and hunting is very much alike. Keep that in mind." She smiled kindly and looked around for something else for them to do. Rainwhisper nodded, "Let's go on to scouting." She paused and lifted her nose to the air, perfect timing. "Find a predator, and a fox den. New leaf is here, many new creatures roam the forest, lets see which you find." Rainwhisper was heavily pregnant if not she would be more active and invovled in the training.

Echopaw nodded. She nudged the prey to her Mentor first.
"Here, you must be hungry from all this training!" Echopaw exclaimed, then padded off.
Just at the border of the training arena, Echopaw scented fox; two burrows to be exact.
Her eyes grew wide as she heard the yipping of kits. She bared her teeth and wondered if she should attack the den before the family could reach ThunderClan territory.
"Rain, you may want to come over here." Echopaw called.

Rain nosed the prey aside. She was hungry, starving actually but she felt she couldn't eat yet. She perked up as Echopaw called her and she went forward with curiosity. the sound of the yipping kits, instead of making her mad made her exclaim a sad "awe". She knew that the animals shouldn't be allowed, but for some reason she didn't feel very evil or tough at the moment. She looked at Echopaw, "What would you do?" She whispered.

"They look inoccent now, but the kindness we show them now will be long forgotten then." Echopaw replied.
She knew Rainwhisper may feel upset or affectionate, since she was having pups, but what had to be done had to be done. Echopaw took a step closer to the den, looking at Rain for approval.

Rainwhisper thought about it and nodded, "Okay." Her voice determined she nodded, her approval. "Go in scare them all out. Give them nips, barks and growls. You don't have to hurt to prove your point. I'll wait here to scare them the other way."

Echopaw leapt into the den and growled. One kit looked up to her, its eyes were filled with inoccence and fear. A rush of guilt came over her, but she knew what she had to do. She nipped they're ears and tails; the kits scrambled out of the den. Echopaw howled from inside to give Rain a signal that they were coming.

Rainwhisper tensed as she heard the frightened yelps, but her eyes were cold and hard. She saw their noses peek out and she let out a vicious growl, forcing them to run to the left. She waited for most of them to be out, before chasing after them as fast as her big heavy belly would allow her to do. The chain which had remained silent so long rattled slighty, making her growl louder with annoyance.

(I forget to say she has a chain for some reason....)

"They're gone." Echopaw muttered. She scented for any more predators when the scent of coyote struck her at the speed of light.
"Rain... I can smell coyote." Echopaw informed her mentor.

Rainwhisper nodded, "Let's go then." She smiled, and looked around a sleepy tiredness taking her over. She shook her head and followed her apprentice.

Padding towards the scent of coyote; Echopaw skidded to a halt. Was there one? Was there two? She was unsure until she realized that only one was alive; the other, dead. Echopaw turned towards her mentor;
"I know you might have a plan, but I do too. I'll bite it's tail to distract it, you go for the neck."

Rainwhisper raised a brow and thought about it. Coyotes were always fun to kill, especially if it was a male. Mostly her anger was released in the taunting of the creature, to which seconds later would die without much pain she actually wished to inflict upon others when stressed and angered. "Lets do it." Her eyes glittered with mischief and excitement.

Echopaw nodded; excitment filled her eyes. She leap through the bushes; landing on the coyote's back. She nipped it's tail harshly as it squealed and tried to escape.

Rainwhisper casually strode out of the bushes, "It is I! Here to end you with a mighty bellow!" She laughed and knocked the creature over with ease, grabbing is throat. " Sho Shad." She spoke through its fur a se bit down.
