Its March and you are visiting Japan on a school trip or perhaps a business trip. as you are bustling toward the local cafe for lunch a shocking earthquake hits and you are thrown to the earth. lucky enough to survive the quake the tsunami and nuclear sirens go off. what do?

The young man walked into a comfortable Cafe, sitting down at a table for four he set up his chessboard and began to play. as a young waitress asked what he would like he ordered a iced coffee. the intellectual male could play chess with himself by flipping the board and acting as if there were two of him. his red styled hair rested in a neat way his dark blue eyes in concentration.

Cecilia drew her sweatshirt tighter around her as she entered the snug little coffee shop. A lofty breeze trailed into the building behind her, and she snapped the door shut with haste, eager to be out of the chilly Japan climate. Her fingers tapped a restless rhytm on the fabric of her jacket as her eyes combed the cafe for an empty seat, and displeasure washed over Cecilia as she realized the place was jam-packed. She'd never been the most social girl, and now was no exception. Resigned to the worst, the seventeen year old strode to the edge of the cafe and took a seat at a table shared with a young man. He couldn't have been more than a year or two older than her, but Cecilia just gave him a stiff nod and turned in her seat, waited to be noticed by a server.

The male ignored her as he was locked in battle against his own mind, making strategic moves. it was only when the waitress brought him his iced coffee that he noticed the younger girl. his red eyebrows raised slightly watching her with blue eyes before he took a sip of his coffee and nodded at her. his mind returned to the complex puzzle his other self had made, frowning slightly and pushing out his pale lips he made a daring move.

Cecilia was glad that the boy sitting across from her made no attempt to speak or engage in conversation, because she certainly wouldn't have responded. Drawing her knees up to her chest, the girl drank idly from the coffee she'd been served, her eyes straying over the crowded building. She was supposed to be meeting a friend here, a girl that also attended her private school back home and had gone on the excursion to Japan, but it would be near impossible to find any individual person in this crowd. Her attention wandering, Cecilia found herself watching the boy out the corner of her eye as he played chess by himself. What a moron, Cecilia thought irritably, her brows furrowing as she looked away and took another sip of her drink.

Finishing his game he packed up his portable wooden chess set and stowed it in the bag at his feet. he frowned pausing, looking at the table, was it just him or was itbeginning to shake? no it wasnt just him his awnser was confirmed when a horrible grating noise began and he got thrown into the girl and the window oppisite. he swore beautifully in japanese as he nearly got glass in his eye. as he sheilded his eyes he didnt notice a shard of glass bury itsself in his nose.

As the boy across from her was rising to his feet, Cecilia began to notice a dull sort of vibration riddling the ground at her feet. At first she just passed it off as her imagination, but as the vibrations began to get stronger, reverberating through her body, a spark of fear and panic ignited inside the girl. She tried to rise to her feet, but was suddenly tumbled into a mess of limbs and swearing as the boy was knocked off his feet and shambled straight into her smaller frame. Cecilia let out a strangled yelp as she took the brunt of the impact and tumbled into the glass window that she'd had her back to moments before. Though most of the glass shattered into miniscule pieces and failed to imbed in her flesh, a few larger shards buried in her exposed hands and wrists. The teenager cursed as she tried to rise to her feet, only to tumble back to her knees in the wreckage and debris as the vibrations grew more and more violent.

Finding his face in her chest area he grinned to himself before he rolled off her and lay on the ground. noticing the shard of glass in his nose he attempted to pull it out wincing. giving up he waited for the earthquake to finish. he narrowly avoided getting brained by their table. thinking of his precious chess set he grabbed his bag and said to the girl "Well this is a way to meet someone" in japanese.

Why wasnt the quake stopping? the thoughts slammed through his head as he felt his teeth rattle in hsi head. he was grateful that the girl beside him hadnt slapped him for landing with hsi face in her rather plump chest. his nose bled a little as he thought about it before he blinked noticing a pretty asian girl fall to the ground. from under the table he reached out and yanked her under so she wouldnt be crushed by something. he said "stay here" in fluent japanese his native language before he reached out a hand grabbing the table leg to try and hold it over them.

Jin kept thinking about everything she could have done or could do if she survived. All it did was torture her, but she couldn't help it. She was panicking, she hated tough situations. She suddenly felt a yank and her dark eyes blazed open as she saw a boy pulling her underneath where he and another were taking shelter. It was a small table but his help was highly appreciated. She gave him a small smile and once again covered her head with her arms her eyes tightly shut.

She kept her head and back beneath the table along with the other two, her legs out behind her. She couldn't take up more room than she really needed in their small protection from the table. She opened her eyes slightly to see the windows shattering, the roof starting to cave in. Debris fell from the ceilings and tables and chairs toppled over. Seconds, nothing but seconds passed by, as she closed her eyes tightly once more and helped the boy grab onto the table.

The girl muttered to herself quietly in her native tongue, "우리는 괜찮을거야, 우리는 괜찮을거야" She continued repeating the words to herself, we're gonna be fine, we're gonna be fine... As if to shut her up she felt a sharp pain as the roof caved in, sending beams and parts of the wall towards them and crushing her leg beneath. She winced in the pain but was too afraid to make even a sound. Her eyes opened, a wild look of fear and pain in them.

As the shaking finally stopped Satoshi (THATS HIS NAME NOW OK) looked at the two females and said in his native language "im Satoshi... what are your names?" he realised that the asian girls leg had been caught under debris, he moved out cautiously from the table and began straining with a beam. his arms ached but the beam moved a little, just enough for the girl to yank her leg out from underneath.

He nodded setting the beam down again, damnnation he thought that most people in japan would understand darned japanese! he crouched down and tapped her shoulder saying in japanese as well as miming "i think your leg is broken, im going to try and find something to splint it with ok?". he had a sinking feeling in his chest, knowing what often came after earthquakes in this place. he took of his jacket placing it around the asian girls shoulders before he looked around. seeing some shards of broken table he grabbed them and looked regretfully at his tie. taking it off he used it to bind the sticks to the girsl leg to give it more support. then he went off exploring coming back with a crutch that he had found under the counter. he placed it in her hands with a sombre nod.

Satoshi said "come on you two, i have a bad feeling about this" his clear blue eyes stared out the shattered window, the shard of glass still deeply embedded in his nose. he inspected the window then shoved the spiky bits of glass still attached to the window pane. ignoreing the sting of glass on his hands he removed as much as he could so there would be less chance of the two ladies of getting cut on the way out "come on, we have to get out of here and up to higher ground"

Ugh. The events of the last few minutes had totally gone over Cecilia's head - she'd fallen into a sort of hazy, blotchy haze. When she finally came to her senses, it took her a moment to realize that another girl had joined their duo - well, now trio - and apparently she'd already gone and hurt herself. Cecilia's head pounded all the more intensely as she wondered how she'd gotten stuck in a potentially life-threatening earthquake with these morons. Oh, well. No use fretting about it now.

Pushing herself out of the glass wreckage and wincing as she registered the few small shards buried in the tender flesh of her hands, Cecilia listened distractedly to Satoshi's instructions. Her attention was more on the chaos that had erupted around them. A chorus of screams and panicked Japanese curses spilled out from the streets. The coffee shop was in tatters, its insides totally wrecked as people flooded the entrances and broken windows to escape and rush back to their homes. Cecilia forced her attention away from all the ensuing chaos before she herself went into a full on panic attack and looked again at her two companions, wincing as her eyes landed on the large piece of glass embedded in Shatoshi's nose.

Lord help me,

"Where do you suggest we go?"

"to the mountains" He said flinching as an all to familiar siren went off, he said "come on we have to get ot high ground now!" the tsunami warning siren continued going on and on. he shifted his weight from side to side anxiously. adrenalin making him forget about the painful wedge of glass. he offered the other girl a hand up.

And we're supposed to fly to the mountains in all of five minutes? The bitter thought didn't make its way past Cecilia's lips, but she surely thought it with enough venom in mind. Grabbing the outstretched hand rather ruefully, Cecilia jerked herself to her feet before turning to look at the girl with the hurt leg. Her eyes narrowed in scrunity for a moment - how in Gods name was she supposed to make her way up a mountain? - but her voice wasn't hostile when she spoke, "Didn't catch your name, sorry. I'm Cecilia."

utterly confused Satoshi said "well for now we have to get out of this room how about we start with that miss negative pants" he said this swiftly in japanese before hopping through the window and gesturing for jin to limp over so he could help her out. blood trickled down his pale face from the large shard in his nose. he looked a bit beat up from the violent earthquake. he flinched hearing a second siren mix with the other one. his eyes widened with fear "oh crap..." he said slowly.
