Owl Tree

Her ears flicked hearing the sound of her bestest sister, she looked over the side of the trunk and blinked her ice blue eyes. She leapt down landing a little unsteadily before using her special body language to tell her sister that she had been to the border with Firestar but stormclan wolves had picked up on her muteness and made fun of her for it. She sighed arily her ice blue eyes glittering with upsetness, she had never really realised her oddness till now.

Origamiheart padded up to the tree in a pant and instantly saw the two young females. He had no interest in them whatsoever. Skidding around he simply lied down as far as he could. He had no more run left in him.

BLackpaw watched her sister carefully and flattened her ears in anger. "How dare they?! Who... gah it doesn't matter! Those stupid Stormclan mutts think they can make fun of you, oh if I had been there..." She growled loudly, and ignored Origamiheart. "I'm sorry Crystal." She went forward and in a rare display of kindness licked her sisters ear gently, "You okay?"

Emberfeather appeared from the forest, questions clogging up her mind as she padded. She sniffed the air, following Origamiheart's faint scent up to the Owl Tree. She noticed Crystalpaw and Blackpaw, but she didn't pay them much mind as she passed them. At last she spotted the heaving lump of fur lying beside the tree, far from earshot of the two apprentices. Silently, she sat several fox-lengths away, curling her tail around her paws. "You know," she muttered softly. "I used to come here all the time when I was an apprentice, sometimes at night. I would watch the Owl fly and hunt. I would even just look up at the stars, watch them twinkle..." She gave a small chuckle, not turning to look at Origamiheart, thinking it might make him uncomfortable.

Origamiheart tensed as he heard heavier steps nearing him. He stood up slightly, and looked back to see Emberfeather. He maintained his position, ready to leave again if she came any closer. But upon inspection, she was looking away and still talking. The male, twitched his nose and listened carefully. He whispered back quietly, words from him as rare as a smile. "I never went anywhere." Four words, no more as he looked away, still tense and unsure.

Emberfeather was tempted to say something about how tense and shy he sounded, but she held her tongue. For now. She paused for a long moment, not sure of what else to say. "I see you always hang around the edge of the camp and crowd. You don't really say much to anyone and you just kind of stare off into space or examine little things. What do you think about all the time?"

Origamiheart, didn't think anyone really noticed him so this was unexpected. The male still did not relax however, "Life." Still he whispered, hoarsely with a rather raspy voice. It sounded rusty, he didn't speak often, but now he kind of had to. He turned to look at her, still ready to flee.

Emberfeather sat in silence, not exactly satisfied. She wasn't going to give up just yet, though. "What about life?" she whispered softly, hoping to get more of a responce from Origamiheart this time.

"Life and it's twists." Once gain, four words. More than that was a huge rare from Origamiheart. His ears started to lie flat upon his head, all the questions required more than yes or no, making him shift away slightly. Slowly, without much noise he began to back up towards the bush.

Emberfeather couldn't take it anymore. "Why are you so shy?" she suddenly blurted out, knowing there was no going back. "Do you just not feel comfortable in ThunderClan? Is there something wrong? Do you just not like us? Do you just not like me?" She turned to face the male, a sad look in her eyes. "Please tell me," she whispered. "I want to help you."

All the questions felt like a strong blizzard wind over Origamiheart. He looked left and right, "I umm..." He backed up into the bush, his ears flat as he looked for a way out. But his fear blinded him, causing him to just shiver in fear, at the females blurting. The male whined slightly and turned away, before blinking. He saw a way out and began to pad towards it.

Emberfeather watched as Origamiheart began to move away. She sighed. I'll never get through... She turned away from the retreating male, inspecting the bark on the Owl Tree. She could see the claw marks on the tree when Runningwind had once dared her to climb to the top when they were apprentices. She gave a small chuckle, memories flooding back. Looking at the stars....stalking butterflies. Why does it all go away, she thought sadly, putting her paw up to the marks and letting her claws slip into the slits.

Origamiheart watched her turn away and with a flick of his ears dashed off. He pushed through the bushes and away. He dashed off, his paws carrying him quickly away. Origami had his sights to another place now, the border.

Emberfeather listened as Origamiheart's pawsteps darted away. She sighed. Why is he so difficult? She had never met a wolf so shy before. She stood, heading back to camp. She stopped, suddenly. I can't give up. One last try! One last time! She raced back to the Owl Tree, hauling herself up in the branches and following Origamiheart as he progressed through the forest.

~Border~

Crystalpaw licked her sisters ears flicking her ears in a slient thanks. Crystalpaw was really the only one who got along well with blackpaw, her ice blue eyes watched her sister. She tilted her muzzle up indicating the owl as a silent question of her wanting to hunt with her. Crystal didnt tell her sister that she sucked at hunting.

Blackpaw smiled and pushed Crystal slightly, "C'mon." She padded away slightly and sniffed around. As she did so her right back leg went up, curling itself instinctively beneath her. So she basically limped around sniffing. She turned to Crystal, "C'mon we'll catch something together."

The fiery female padded slowly forward and lay down in the undergrowth. She watched the two sisters together and smiled slowly. I think I'll just let them be for the moment. I wish Mossey was here. Firestar blinked and then turned around silently and went back to camp.

TC camp

Crystal nodded her ears perking in a silent quiet smile, she sniffed around as well. Several scents registered themselves to her pink nose. She looked up with her ice blue eyes and froze seeing a squirrel gorge itself on nuts. she found herself unable to move, what if it spotted her?

Blackpaw looked around and spotted the squirrel her sister had seen as well. She looked around and saw a mud puddle. She pointed towards it and looked at Crystal. Slowly she made her way towards the mud and slipped into it quietly, soon covered in it from toe to ear. She smiled and rubbed herself along her sister coating her as well, "Now do it." She didn't tell Crystal but she had left a great portion without mud, she knew her sister could do it, bright white or not.

The white apprentice glanced at her sister uneasily, the mud felt cold and sticky on her fur. She looked along her back her ice blue eyes shining awkwardly as she beheld the sticky up fur on her back. She let out a quiet sigh of acceptance and crouched down. her pink nose twitched as she slowly (and rather clumsily) made her way over to the squirrel. Unlike when she was fishing she looked awkward and unsteady.

Black watched her sister, as she made her way clumsily. The female shook her head, didn't
Firestar teach her anything? Blackpaw however did not say anything she didn't want Crystal to think she didn't have faith in her. Black sat down quietly, the mud upon her own fur already dry.

She crouched down and pounced, missing the squirrel it darted off toward four trees, Crystalpaw gave a fustrated look at blackpaw before she turned dashing after it. her ice blue eyes glittered like minature crystals of their own. Crystalpaw would not rest until she had caught that darned squirrel!

Blackpaw watched her sister and how she narrowly missed the squirrel. And then she just left, chasing after it! Blackpaw sighed in exasperation and lashed her tail. Patience... Huh none here. The gray female, who resembled the long lost Blackhawk followed after her mud streaked sister with a rather angry glare.

Hawkpool stumbled across to the tree,the she collapsed at its roots. She curled up. She was motionless,and her ears kept ringing. Why now? First I learn Blue's dead at the gathering,then I watch Rainwhisper die before my very own eyes. She clawed at the barky roots. "I feel almost dead....."

Hawkpool had drifted to sleep under the swaying tree. Tears still welling up from her left eye. She felt a twinge of pain in her chest. Hawk gritted her teeth and curled up again. Stop mopping already! I...I have to go back to camp... She stood up carefully. Her orange eye still puffy from crying. "I must look like hell..." Hawkpool jumped down from the roots and slowly padded to camp. Watching her paws shuffle to camp,kicking up dust from the ground.

Pearlpaw arrived before Cloudpaw. She glanced around surprised to see that her sister was not there. The pearly white apprentice let out a sigh as she sat down, waiting for Cloudpaw. Who knew, maybe Moonshadow would let Pearlpaw train with Cloudpaw and her. Pearlpaw looked around one last time before deciding that she had arrived early.
