The River

Where it marks the border of Riverclan, and where most of our clanmates to come and hunt fishes during the spring. The stepping stones are only reachable in the Late Spring and Early Summer.

Snowstorm came into the clearing and looked around. He soon spotted the three pups. And to his surprise, one of them was attacking another. He bounded over to the pups. "That enough!" He growled, pulling Darkpup off of Eaglepup and setting him down a little ways away. "I will not tolerate any fighting!" The deputy then turned his attention to Eaglepup. He nudged the injured pup onto his paws and sniffed him over, making sure he wasn't badly injured. "Are you alright, Eaglepup?" He asked, keeping himself between Eaglepup and Darkpup.

Creekfire dashed up to the tussling pups just as Snowstorm padded up. Fury rose in his chest as one pup pinned down Eaglepup, pinning him down and lashing out at him. Fatherly protection controlled him as he leaped out of the trees, bounding over to his son and his friend faster than anyone had seen him dash. He watched as Snowstorm appeared, tearing the two apart. Creekfire skidded to a stop, his amber eyes blazing. He bent his head close to the dark pup, his neck fur bristling with raw rage. "What were you thinking!" he snarled, his long fangs flashing. "If you ever think about attacking one of my pups again, you won't be attacking any else any time soon!" he yelled, giving one last furious growl before turning to Eaglepup. "Oh my precious son, are you okay?" He bent down, curling hies tail around his pup and showering him with licks, casting a wrathful look at the dark pup every now and then.

Eaglepup sat up and tried to look tough. He gave a snarl and a deadly growl in darkpup's direction. His stomach was bleeding from being scratched many times. He was feeling a little faint but other then that he was okay. There was nothing he could do about Darkpup for the moment with everyone around. He answered everyone in one answer " I'm al...right ...I " His world seemed to slow down. He looked at Snowstorm then his father and finally Goldenpup, before passing clean out from losing a lot of blood. He fell to the ground at his father's worried feet.

Darkpup struggled as Snowstorm dragged him off of the other pup. But his efforts were useless against the full grown wolf's jaws. He then looked up at Creekfire as the warrior yelled at him. Darkpup only let out a growl at Creekfire. He couldn't injure him. Nobody would let him. And when Darkpup was fully grown, he would be much larger than Creekfire. The dark pup growled one last time at Eaglepup before he passed out. He grunted and dashed out of the clearing, headed for the StormClan camp.

~StormClan camp~

Snowstorm turned his gaze away from Eaglepup when Creekfire ran over to them. "Whoa, whoa, calm down Creekfire." He said, stepping in front of the other wolf. "Yes, Darkpup attacked Eaglepup. But at least Eaglepup is okay." He watched as Eaglepup became wobbly, and put his muzzle under the pup to soften his fall. "I checked him, and he doesn't have any serious injuries. We just need to get him to Owlscreech." He turned a glare on Darkpup. "But there is still no excuse to be attacking other wolves," he growled. He was about to pick up the dark pup and bring him back to camp, when he dashed off through the trees. Snowstorm turned back to Creekfire. "I am very sorry about this, Creekfire. Let's get Eaglepup back to camp quickly." He swung his head over and took Goldenpup by the scruff before quickly padding back to camp.

~StormClan camp-

Creek fire glanced up at Snowstorm, his eyes still glittering. "He's my son. I'll always protect my pups, even when they're grown and have pups of their own." He bent down, taking Eaglepup's scruff in his jaws. He turned, padding after Snowstorm.

Goldenpup snarled at Darkpup as he walked away. Eaglepup! I hope he's okay... she thought. She had scratches too, but they weren't as bad as Eaglepup's.

Eaglepup came up to the river. Its sounds soothed him as he paced in slow circles around the trees. He remembered coming here with Goldenpaw before he was attacked by Darkpaw. It made him even more mad with himself then he was before. Everything was hard in camp, not to add that he didn't have any training since becoming an apprentice.

Creekfire padded into view. He approached the river, staring down into its depths. He noticed Eaglepaw downstream, and the large gray male padded over to his son. He sat down, silently curling his tail over his paws. He closed his eyes, breathing in the cool New-leaf air, the sky cloudy and the perfect temperature.

Eaglepaw noticed his father come and sit down farther down the river. He headed down with a low growl. " Darkpaw is getting more training then I have! What do I do? What happened to mom? Why hasn't brindlepup been apprenticed?" he let out all of these questions at once. They had all been weighing on his mind making him grouchy and confused.

Creekfire's eyes glinted at the mention of Darkpaw having more training than his own son. "Whoa whoa whoa, slow down there, tiger. If it really bothers you that much, then I can give you some training myself." He stood, standing infront of the apprentice. "Sparrowheart is dead." He choked on the words, but managed to force them out, fighting back tears. "Brindlepup was alot weaker than you and your siblings. She needed to grow stronger, but don't worry, she'll be an apprentice within the next few moons."

Eaglepaw looked at his father and listened. He didn't move after what he heard. "No!!! How?" Eaglepaw tuned and ran at the nearest tree. He slammed all of his body weight at the tree out of anger. "How?" Eaglepaw asked still facing the tree. He wanted revenge and knew he probably couldn't have it.

Creekfire's eyes welled up with tears but he fiercely blinked them away. He approached his son, who was fiercely attacking a tree. Feeling his sadness and his own deeply buried rage arise, he reared up on his hind legs, slashing the bark away and leaving long scores in the trunk. He fell back down on all fours again, sighing.

Eaglepaw sighed. He was done with his rampage and now he was just sad. He sat down and stared at the fiver. " Can you teach me how to fish?" He asked his father wanting something to distract his mind. He needed to learn something or anything if he could.

Creekfire nodded, padding over to the river bank. He crouched down near it, staring down into the flowing water. He becconed Eaglepaw over to his side. He flexed his claws, anxious about teaching for the first time.

Eaglepaw followed his father over to the river and watched intently. He wanted to learn and he would learn everything he could. Eaglepaw watched the river too, seeing all the fish go by.

Creekfire nodded, acknowlaging his son. The sun wasn't out, so he didn't have to worry about his shadow, but he explained it anyways. "Always make sure your shadow doesn't fall over the river, or else the fish will see you," he whispered softly, narrowing his eyes in concentration. He watched the fast-moving current, waiting for the signal. At the flash of silver, he lashed out with his claws, feeling them sink into flesh. He flicked the fish onto the bank, letting it flop about. "When there's hardly any current, aim for where the fish is. But when there's a quick one..." He planted a paw over the still-alive fish's body, slashing its gills with his other foots claws. "...aim for where the fish is going to be"

Eaglepaw watched all of this happen. He was amazed at how fast his father moved and was eager to try. He nodded his head at his fathers instructions and faced the river again. He looked to see if his shadow was there when he didn't see it he focused on the flashes of silver. He focused an shot forward on one and he tipped over into the river. He missed the one he was going for but instead came up with a fish in his mouth. He swam over to the edge and got out. Soaking, Eaglepaw spit out his fish and looked proudly at his father, proud that he had gotten a fish.

Creekfire nodded in approval at his son, chuckling. "Well, there's more than one way to catch a fish." He crouched down once more, whispering again to keep from alerting the fish. "Try digging in your hind claws, keeping your weight on them so your not top-heavy. That way your front legs have more mobility and freedom as well."

Eaglepaw smiled and headed back to try again. He listened to his father's advice and dugs his back claws in. He looked in the water and swatted at a fish. He missed! He took a breath before trying again. He focused really hard and swiped his paw into the water and came out with a fish. Eaglepaw shouted, " Yes!" and bounded over to his dad with the fish. " I caught it!!!!!" he shouted and set it down at his fathers feet.

Creekfire smiled approvingly at his son. "Great job, scamp. Keep practicing that and you'll be a fishing king." He stood, backing away from the River. "How about a bit of battle practice?"

Eaglepaw grinned. He would love to battle," Yes, please." he nodded his head eager to listen to whatever he was told to do. He walked away from the river so he didn't fall in on accident.

Creekfire nodded. "Remember, in battles you won't be able to use all of these moves. Its all about free styling and moving with your opponant, and sometimes you'll have to come up with your own moves." He approached a long log on the ground and a cluster of trees, flexing his claws. "I'll show you a few basic and advanced moves." He pushed off the ground with his front paws and smashed them into one of the trees, scoring his claws down it. "Front paw strike." He spun around, planting his paws firmly on the ground as he lashed out his back legs. They collided with the tree, making it groan. "Back kick." As he dropped down to all fours again, he whipped around, kicking the branch in the air. He rolled onto his back, the branch landing on his chest and belly. He scored his back claws across it, sending shards of bark flying. "Belly rake. And now for some of my personal favorites, some that I made up."

He stood, facing one of the trees. He darted to the left and then to the right, but suddenly lashed out at the middle. "That's what I call the Fake-out." He padded back over to the log, rearing up on his hind legs and smashed his full weight on it, shattering it. He backed up, rushing forward to the tree, crouching low. As soon as he was about to lash out, he leaped upward, sinking his long fangs into the tree bark. He spat out back as he approached Eaglepaw once again. "For the last one, your going to want to aim for your opponant's face, neck or chest. Its an easy fight-stopper. Now, I want you to try the Belly rake, Back kick and and Front paw Strike on me."

Eaglepaw watched intently because he didn't want to miss anything. He nodded his head at his father whenhe said to try it on him. Trying to be surprising he started with back kick. He ran at his father and turned to back kick him in the side. Then he turned around and went for the chest with a front paw strick before sliding under and lightly belly raking so to not hurt him with his claws. Finally done he ran out before any counter attack could be made on him. He had been watching every move and hoped he got it right.

Creekfire nodded approvingly. "Good, good. Now, I'm going to teach you a few defensive measures." He reared up on his hind legs, his front paws and legs concealing his face and chest. "This is good for avoiding attacks aimed at your facial area, but it leaves your belly exposed. Using the upright lock, which was where I shattered the branch with my full weight, is a good move to use after this one." He fell back on all four paws and collapsed onto his side, rolling onto his back. He brought his hind legs together, bringing them upward and pushing his fore legs together, shielding his belly and chest. "A good way to dodge charging attacks, as you roll out of the way and protect yourself like this." He rolled back onto his side, hopping back onto his paws. He planted his paws firmly on the ground, his side exposed. "If your larger than your opponant, this is a good way to avoid being knowcked over."
