the river is a mountain snow fed bubbling brook, there are trout and other eadibles in the river if you are brave enough to find them. the river sometimes floods and wolves can be swept away. the river is generally ice cold to the touch and wolves can get sick from it if they stay in its freezing waters for too long. several herbs can be found on its banks as well.

Nightfrost bounded over the rocky ground, feeling free. Glancing at the sky as she ran, she enjoyed the crisp feeling of mountain air. Her heart leaped to her throat as she lost her footing, and stopped herself just in time as to not plunge into the icey water. Peering down, she saw herbs growing along its sides. Sometimes flashes would go by, and she knew that in the summer they would be able to fish here. Following the river down for a ways, she heard a loud booming noise. She as peered over the side, she realised it was a watefall. Spotting the small form of her apprentice, she barked in greeting, then sat down, her eyes happy. Deciding to return to the Mothermouth, she stood and galloped away.

Padding up ripplepaw sat down by the river, her black baccked ears tilted back a little with nervousness. blinking her baby blue eyes she sighed a little turning she watched the water and tilted her head, she didnt feel fear around this river for some reason. shrugging she stood and placed one black paw in the river, shivering with the coldness of the water she backed up pretty rapidly and fell backwards onto her rump.

Shadowpup padded up the river bank. Upwind from Ripplepaw to the point where he could not scent the apprentice. He let all his frstrations out in painful howls. He knew no other way, he was mad. Mad at Moonwhisper, ShadowClan. Mad at the world.

Stoatpaw ran as fast as he could towards the water's shore, blinking as he noticed Ripplepaw place her paw in the river. "You're not afraid of the water anymore?" The apprentice asked as he walked over to his friend. His dark blue eyes blinked again as he thought he heard howling, though wasn't sure as the howl sounded far away. He looked back at Ripplepaw to see her response to what he'd said.

Ripplepaw shrugged and replied "im getting used to it" her eyes glittered a little shyly turning she scratched behind her left ear she then stood and stretched a little. "hopefully we will be made warriors soon!" her eyes glittered and she leapt at her friend and pinned him.

Stoatpaw looked at Ripplepaw as she'd said she was getting used to the water, nodding, and let out a yelp of surprise as she pinned him down. "Yeah, I hope we'll be made warriors soon also. What warrior name would you want?" The orange apprentice asked, looking up at Ripplepaw. He wasn't sure what name he'd want for himself; Stoatstrike, Stoatwhisker, or Stoatblaze seemed nice; Direblood, or Direstar if he'd recieved his lives yet, would have to choose his name instead.

Shadowpup looked at the river. Letting his paw cause a disruption in the flow as he laid near it. His paw touching the icy cold water he realized it wasn't as bad as it was talked about it. His eyes full of hurt and pain.

Ripplepaw shrugged and said "i was thinking perhaps Rippleshine or Ripplestone or even maybe ripplestreak" her baby blue eyes and yawned a little her eyes dreamy. staring up at the moon she smiled and licked stoatpaws nose her eyes gentle and kind.

Shadowpaw moved a bit upstream and saw Ripplepaw and Stoatpaw. He ran away from them. The last thing he needed was to explain why a pup was out of camp. He growled and ran downstream. His eyes set his eyes for somewhere he could be alone.

Stoatpaw looked at Ripplepaw and nodded in reply. "Those names are all nice." He said with a smile. Stoatpaw's fluffed out his pelt as a cold breeze blew by, and his smile turned into a slight frown. "It will be Leafbare soon, I think." The orange wolf said as he glanced at the sky to see if any clouds were coming towards SunClan's territory. The orange apprentice glanced back as he thought he heard a sound, though didn't see any other wolf there.

Shadowpaw ran back to camp giving up. He wanted to talk to Direstar when he returned. Moonwhisper was being mean to him. He wanted to be there by the time Oakpup woke up.

Tilting her head the black footed apprentice and touched her nose to his cheek. pausing she lowered her head and stared at the ground and flicked her ears back. "um... stoatpaw do you um like me?" she said in a quiet small voice. her fur moved in the slight breeze and she shivered slightly. her paws shifted anxiously on the river bank earth.

Stoatpaw looked at Ripplepaw as she had touched her nose to his cheek and then had looked at the ground below. "Yes, I like you Ripplepaw." The orange apprentice said as he licked her ear, and then glanced forward at where he'd heard a sound. He thought he could scent a wolf nearby; though decided the scent might have been something else. He looked back at Ripplepaw, his dark blue eyes appearing lighter in the moon's light (or sun's light). "Would you like to hunt, Ripplepaw? If you're not that scared of the river, I could show you how to catch prey which lives nearby it's shores." The rather large apprentice said, scenting at the air to see if there would be prey nearby if Ripplepaw said she wanted to try catching them.

Ripplepaws ears perked and she nodded looking interested "i want to learn how to fish, so that way we can help our new clan" her baby blue eyes glittered "thank you for coming with me to sunclan stoatpaw it means alot to me" she smiled and then walked over to the rivers edge and sat down waiting for her 'mentors' instructions.

Stoatpaw nodded, walking over towards the river. "You're welcome Ripplepaw, and thanks for joining SunClan; I like our new Clan, I'm glad there's a river though." He said, quietly. His dark blue eyes looked at the waters of the river, and he sat down, making sure his reflection couldn't be seen by any fish. "Make sure the fish can't see you well, and be ready to either grab the fish in your mouth or move it out of the waters with your paws." The orange wolf whispered nearly silently, his eyes still watching the river. He hadn't really tried fishing with his mentor, though he thought he knew how to fish; he'd tried before. Stoatpaw listened both to Ripplepaw and to the waters of the river, to hear her response and to listen if a fish came swimming near the river bank.

ripplestone flicked her ears and backed up a little, her eyes were focused on the water and she narrowed her eyes a little baby blue eyes keen she waited a few moments before she swung a black paw at the water. it entered the water seamlessly almost impossible to see under the water she scooped up a fat trout and stared at it in shock as it flopped around on the stones of the river bank

Stoatpaw watched the river before seeing a silver flash, and quickly pawing at the blue water he managed to bring a fish onto the shore. As he tried to place his paw ontop of it, the fish managed to go back into the river. The orange wolf snorted, annoyed, and then looked back at Ripplepaw. "Nice catch, Ripplepaw; you have the fishing skills of any RiverClan... er, StormClan warrior!" He said, his dark blue eyes looking at the fish she brought to the rocky shore. "Though don't make that mistake I did, where I just let the fish go right back into the river's waters." Stoatpaw looked back the river as if the fish he just about had caught was still there, but only a splash from a bird showed prey that was near the water.

Ripplepaw nodded and turned her attention back to the water, with a wriggle she lay down and watched the fish swim by, baby blue eyes narrowing she stuck out her tongue as she swiped again and flicked another fish out of the water, this time a mountain fish. quickly she sunk her claws through its scales killing it, looking up she noticed the sun beginning to rise picking up the two fish she had caught she smiled "come on stoatpaw we had better get back to greet direblood i mean Direstar" with a light giggle she flicked her black tipped tail and headed back towards the camp

Stoatpaw's dark blue eyes looked at Riplepaw as she caught another fish. After, she had told him that they had better leave back to camp. Nodding, the orange apprentice looked back at the river; he didn't want to return without catching something. A splash in the river caught his attention, and leaping forward he managed to grab a water vole, feeling it go limp. The apprentice shook out his fur, and trotted back towards the camp of his new Clan.

Shadowpaw ran to the river. He was practically hyperventilating because he'd been running as fast as he could. He took a few laps and nearly inhaled them and nearly chocked. He went and climbed a tree to rest.

Isenpaw followed Shadowpaw and watched him. "Shadowpaw, what's wrong?" She asked kindly and cluelessly. She really cared for her clan mates, she put her bitter mood aside and looked into his eyes. She had a questioning look in his eyes.

Shadowpaw looked as Isenpaw came up to him. "Oakpaw.. he's never acted like this before, I've done stupider then that and he didn't react. It's like Oakpaw, my own brother, is shutting me out. I don't know what to do Isenpaw." He said, starring at the stars, was StarClan really with them?

Isenpaw looked at him sympathetically, he was no stupid. "Your not stupid Shadowpaw, your the smartest wolf I ever knew. You'll figure out a way to make it up to Oakpaw." She said, climbing up into the tree so she was level with him and she looked into his eyes.

Shadowpaw blushed a bit at the compliment. But it seemed like Isenpaw was getting too close when she climbed up and looked into his eyes. It made him smile though. He was smiling a lot. He needed Oakpaw for backup. Soon hopefully.
