Wolverine's Hole

A wolverine has taken residence in this abandoned hole in the territory! Wolverines are aggressive and have been known to steal and kill pups and other prey that is rightfully the warriors.

Nightowl stalked up and sat down, glaring down at his paws, his heart ached with pain. it wasnt fair,w hy was there so much death? he looked up at the stars and snarled a little "why did you have to kill yourself rainwhisper?" his voice cracked.

Leafpaw stalked up to the old wolverine hole. She had only heard stories of what had happened. Her mind wandered back to the stories. A young warrior by the name of blackhawk, brother to Rainwhisper was fighting along side Phoenixfire who would later become Phoenixstar. According to stories his leg had been twisted all the way around, and yet he had survived. Well that was until an attack on a dog. Leafpaw chuckled her mind racing to thoughts of blacklily. She was gray with black paws. Like they described Blackhawk. However she was the total opposite. Grumpy, rude, mean, but she had her similairities. According to Rain, Black had been sweet, but always hid his true feelings. He was helpful and brave and after the attack of course he walked with a limp. Leaf shook her head, she had no need to be thinking of an old wolf and a mean one. She shook her head erasing the memory as she climbed into the small hole.

Leafpaw finally got over her anger and swiftly stood up. i need to get to camp... Walking with her head down she did.

-TC camp

Blacklily padded up to the old burrow in the floor and gave a quick glance around. There was the faint scent of a wolf, but no other predatory animals. In fact the area was rich in the smell of prey. Nodding to herself that this was a good place to start their tour of the territory Blacklily waited for her apprentice while keeping an eye out for potential prey.

Blacklily's green gaze landed on a small bird in the trees, sooner or later it would come down and it would be lunch. Her ears perked to what Leopard ha to say and she slowly nodded, "Yeah, you need strength and speed to catch your prey and sometimes if prey is large enough they will fight back." She looked away from the bird who was now happily hopping along as if taunting her. "Tell me what prey you can smell."

Blacklily nodded and cast a glance at her apprentice who was gazing up at her, waiting for what was next. The young warrior shifted slightly, unused to be the one giving orders and actually have someone want to hear them. But that could be a good thing so Blacklily held herself up a bit higher and nodded once more, "True the bird is closest of all, but for me catching birds is near impossible. I'm too... umm loud I think it is. I don;t know, just can't seem to catch them. The mouse however, or the squirrelys are easier for myself. We just got to find your strengths. Choose one and I'll show ya how."

The dog slunk up his spotted pelt hiding him well from the view of the bird, he used the dappled affect of the trees to his advantage. Skirting around some fallen leaves from last autumn he waited patiently as the bird hopped closer, he silently licked his chops. At the precisley the right moment the dog shot out, the bird twitted flapping. Not letting that stop him he used his back legs to propell him up into the air, his jaws closed around the bird and he landed on all four feet. With two precise shakes of his head the birds neck was snapped.

Black nodded, this ws harder than she thought it would be. Having an apprentice look at your every mve and wait for your next words. It was weird to say the least. "Alright then we-" Her head snapped around as she caught the strong scent of a dog. A growl left her throat, as she turned her full body towards the intruder. Blacklily had an inexplicable hatred towards dogs, but somehow she managed to like the ones at camp, but this one this was no clan dog, she could do as she pleased. Her fur standing on end she called out, "Hey you! You're hunting on clan grounds, get going or else."

Sprinkles had changed from the sweet dog and now stared at the gray and black wolf with aloof eyes that glittered "you werent going to catch it, waste not want not" The dog was lean and handsome in a spotty kind of way. His brown eyes were unreadable even as his white teeth clenched around the birds neck.

Blacklily's fur bristled in anger, her teeth barring in a snarl. Her shoulders tensed, oh how she wanted to rip the dog up just for breathing, she needed this. Her ears perked forward and when Leopard spoke a cruel grin made its way onto her muzzle. Maybe she could learn to like the small heap of fur by her side, she definitely liked her attitude. "Take the bird if you must have it, it's not like I would want to touch anything a dog has, but leave. Now!" Her voice was low, her green eyes alight with the excitement at an opportunity.

Blacklily froze, darn so close and now out of her reach. Yet her eyes still narrowed dangerously and she let out a cackle, "Hmm get used to it, but if that is as you wish it to be you must come with us and not try anything or then I'll have to use your spotted pelt as my nest." She left her teeth barred, she would not take anything, not a thing from this dog. The moment he slipped up, she would rip him to shreds.

Blacklily looked up to the sky and grumbled, ingorning his comment. She turned to her apprentice and gave her a sigh, "Sorry Leopardpaw, we'll continue some other time." She nudged the apprentice forward and glared at the dog. Ugh, how annoying. Grumbling to herself about the uselessness of dogs, she pushed past him and towards the camp.

-Camp

Blacklily returned to the hole, her snarl forming and and her growl finally leaving her throat. How could Firestar accept that mutt? His mere presence put her on edge! The trees bark was slashed away in her anger, her black paws in a fury against it. She was so mad, she had no idea why, her growls kept coming growing louder and louder and preventing her from the danger nearby. Black was blind with fury and it wasn't until she heard a click that she realized her mistake. The female wolf turned, but it was to late, the two legs had caught her to and she slowly slipped into unconsciousness her growl leaving her before she was out.

Hawkpool pinned her ears to her head and stepped over to Echochime. "No,we need to stop this and get everyone else off the territory." Her tone sounded cold. Hawk's gaze then flicked to her right and left,as if waiting for something to jump out and catch them. The white deputy lowered her voice a little. Thinking eyes were peeling into her pelt. "I think something's here..." Her back was to the wolverine hole,and she dared not look back at her. Don't tell me there's more of them...? She thought anxiously to herself. Her nose twitched as the musty scent by the hole grew stronger. Hawkpool clamped her jaw shut. She stared Ha red at Echochime. Her eyes twinkled,saying,Be quiet and back away slowly. Hawk then cautiously stepped past the young warrior.
