Shadowpaw decided to attack Copperpaw first. She crouched back, and then leaped on him. As she leaped into him she could help thinking how much larger he was then her. she wasnt small, she had grown a lot since she was a pup. as a pup she was a little small and her fur would never seem to lay down. But now she was a medium size and her fur was getting more glossy as she continued to grow, and her eyes had lost that puppy blue, and her eyes were now a yellow color.

Copperpaw ducked under neath her attack and turned. aiming to clamp his jaws lightly onto her tail. his eyes glittered with determination to succeed. his eyes had only been blue for a few days before they had turned their amber brown. he growled a little playfully as he did so.

Shadowpaw yipped a little as Copperpaw bit her tail. She used three of her legs to balance while she used one of her legs to kick Copperpaw, to free her tail. She answered Copperpaw's playful growl with her own. A fire was burning in Shadowpaw's eyes. even though Copperpaw was her friend she wasnt going to go easy on him, and see could see that he wouldnt do the same.

He winced as her claws struck near his eye. he released her and charged at her. aiming to barrel his hard head into her side. his msucles propelled him forward with suprising velocity. his black claws dug into the earth to push him further forward. his brown eyes glinting in challange.

She felt the air leave her as Copperpaw rammed his head into her side. She rolled with the movement to allow herself to then get back up on all fours. " you got a hard head Copperpaw," she teased. She rushed to the front of him as if she was going to do a frontal attack and then at the last second she went to the side of him and went for his back.

As copperpaw went to defend himself Nightowl said "alright you two. i want a practise session of Shadowpaw practising her defending and Copperpaw practicing his attacking. Shadowpaw use only defensive moves, such as flicking his paws out of the way with your own or moving out of reach. try to use his movements against him. copperpaw your goal is to try and pin her down". he nodded signaling them to begin.

She stopped her attack and sat on her hind legs as she listened to Nightowl give out new instructions. She looked at Copperpaw and smile and thought: he is such a strong wolf, he going to make an awesome warrior and mate one day, who ever he picks is going to be lucky. she shook her head ashamed that she was just staring at Copperpaw like that and thinking those thoughts. focus Shadowpaw! she scolded herself inside her mind. laying down she put her paws over face, and let out a frustrated growl. Remembering where she was Shadowpaw sat up quickly. " sorry, dont mind me just having my own practice battle, she said laughing shakily.

Copperpaw having no idea of the struggles going in his clan mates head laughed and said "practise that when you have no other wolves to practise with silly". he walked up and tried to scrape his paw along her check. a good strategic move to gauche an apponents abilities.

"yea, i will," she said. Shadowpaw saw Copperpaws' paw just in time to back up from his reach. "almost got me there Copperpaw" she said to him. She waited for him to make his next move.

Copperpaw narrowed his eyes and began swinging both of his paws at the same time. aiming for the bridge of her nose. he wondered if this time his attack would hit. he hoped that he would be able to go to the next gathering. his heart pounded he couldnt wait.

Shadowpaw tried to dodge Copperpaw's attack. but she didnt dodge it in time. And winced as Copperpaw's claws swiped at her nose. She sat back after that and shook her head.

Nightowl nodded and said, "good job, thats enough onFighting for now, Copperpaw i want you to try and locate prey, and Shadowpaw i want you to find predators. after a while you will swap". his eyes glittered and he said "we will practise our fighting moves on a predator". he sat back and waited.

Copperpaw nodded and began scenting the air, his black nose twitched in inhaled. hundreds of scents flooded his mind. he twitched an ear and listened as well as sorted through the scents. his mind found several. "partridge, pheasant and a doe" he reported.

Shadowpaw raised her nose in the air, and inhaled deeply. So many scents flooded her, prey and predators. She mentally sorted through the smells and put them into no threat and threat. the animals that she scented and placed into the threat category in her mind was bear, fox, and badgers. " i smell traces of bear, fox, and badgers," she said to Nightowl. she couldnt help thinking, i hope i got those scents right.

"alright then apprentices time to test out your new fighting moves. track and drive out or kill the Foxes, there are two of them one for each of you. if you pass this test you may go on to fighting badgers". nightowl flicked his tail and siaid "ill be following in the trees ready to lend aid". he leapt up into the trees.

Shadowpaw looked at Copperpaw quickly before she got up to track the scent of the fox. She got to the Fox's den, and peered inside and heard a vicious growl. mmm, i cant go in there because it would be a small space to fight in. So i guess ill just have to draw the Fox out of the hole, she thought. Shadowpaw peered in again and this time she swiped at the fox, drawing it out. the fox lunged at her and it hit her full force and knock her over, her and the fox went rolling. Shadowpaw yipped in pain as the fox clawed at her face. she used her hind legs to kick the fox off and she got up fast and not giving the fox a chance to recover she tried the new move she learned, she went at the fox as if to attack its underbelly but at the last second jumped up and landed on the Fox's back. she sunk her claws in as the fox tried to throw her off. Shadowpaw bit it in the ear and then lost her balance and was thrown off. Knowing that she had now just made the fox really mad, she tried to get up fast but she couldn't. i must have hurt my leg when i fell, she thought as she tried to get up again. "come on leg," she said out loud as the fox leaped on her. Shadowpaw cried out in pain.

With a roar of rage copperpaw arrived and charged the fox, his thick head butted into its side with an almost sickening crack. placing himself between the fox and Shadowpaw he growled "come at me fleafur!" the fox rushed at him and he leapt to meet it. his bigger mouth closed over the foxes jaws and he proceeded to slowly crush them. after a few minutes he relaesed it and gave a good couple of blows to the foxs ears. he fluffed out hsi fur, out of the corner of his eye he saw the other fox returning home with a fat bird that could have fed thunderclan. Copperpaw kicked his current fox in the face as he leapt for the bird one. he aimed to slam his paw into the foxes jaw but misjudged and slammed his claws into its left eye by mistake.

Shadowpaw got up slowly as she felt the weight of the fox gone. Copperpaw was now fighting the fox and she saw as the other fox came carrying prey. She was very grateful to Copperpaw for coming to help her. her leg still hurt, but she decided that she was going to help Copperpaw, she grunted and whined from the pain and then she decided that she could tend to her wounds and be in pain later. Shadowpaw ran with a limp over to Copperpaw and the other fox and bit down in the Fox's flank.

Copperpaw barked "his eye is gone, he should be easier". he then turned and gave the other fox a bite to the front paw. he lay down and held onto it ignoring the foxes attempts. he growled lowly.

Shadowpaw nodded to Copperpaw. She let go of the fox's flank and sunk her claws in the back of the fox's back and then put her full body weight on it. the fox went down and as she was raking her claws down the fox's back while she had it pinned down by body weight, she said to Copperpaw " i think we should go for the kill now."

He nodded and with a powerful lunge he had his fox under him. he tore out its throat to give the fox an easy death. snorting he began digging a hole. he didnt want to leave the foxes body there all mangled and such. so he decided to bury it.

Shadowpaw using her body she rocked from side to side and the momentum flipped the fox over. she was now on top of it and she went for the throat. She bit kept biting down as the fox thrashed around and then finally went still. She let go and she looked up to find Copperpaw digging what looked like a grave for the Fox. thats a good idea, she thought. she dragged the fox next to the den it had made and started digging as well. But stopped because now some of the pain had started to resurface.

Night owl nodded with aproval he said "now, i want you both to do the same thing again. Shadowpaw scent three predators and copperpaw find three prey". he flicked his ears for them to go off and do their work.
Copperpaw nodded and began scenting around, with a flick of his tail he picked up the trail of a ground bird. a pheasant. he began stalking it with quiet paw prints and with a leap landed on it and broke its neck. turning he scented vole, his belly rumbled, he began stalking it thens tood on a stick. he watched with disapponitement as the vole vanished. turning he sighed and scented the air one last time. a squirrel. he silently sat under a branch then shoved himself up and caught its tail in hsi jaws. he fell to the ground with it under him.

Shadowpaw finished burying the Fox. she sat down and tended to her wounds. After that she raised her nose to scent for more predators. she padded forward and caught the scent of Coyote, another fox, and a badger. she went in the direction of the coyote first. the coyote was feeding off of a pheasant. she was behind it and she crept into the undergrowth and then after it looked up she crept forward careful on where she placed her paws, she didnt want it to know that she was behind it. she swiped at its flank and it turned around but she wasnt there. she moved in front of it and when it turned around she bit into its neck. the coyote was done for,she had caught it by surprise. but this time she didnt stop to bury it, she thought she can come back and do that. she then picked up the fox scent again, but this time instead of going for the kill she decided that she would just chase it off. she didnt have the element of surprise here,so she charged straight at the fox. her and the fox exchanged blows until she got scratched in the nose, she then ducked as the fox tried to swipe again and hit it in the head. and instead of fighting back the fox ran, i chased it an nipped it in the flank and then stopped when it was far away. She then found the badger not that far from where she had found the fox. but as she came near it she snapped a trig and it ran away.
