The River

Where it marks the border of Riverclan, and where most of our clanmates to come and hunt fishes during the spring. The stepping stones are only reachable in the Late Spring and Early Summer.

Riversong pads toward the water, on almost silent paws, and studies the swift moving liquid. She smiles, seeing that the stepping stones were hidden from view, and sits down, lifting her head slightly. She opens her maw, just enough to let her beautiful, yet soft voice, escape it.

"You will know it's me,
When you hear the ringing of the bells.
You will know it's me,
When you hear the soft whispers in the woods.
You will find me,
Near the water,
Always quiet,
Always waiting,
For someone to appear,
To take me away
To find my Happiness,"

She sings, shutting her eyes. She sighs, opening her eyes and lapping up some of the water. I love to sing. But it always hurts afterward. She thinks looking around quietly. Seeing no one was around, Riversong nodded slowly. She wasn't much of a social creature, but she did like to have others around, if only to not have the intense quiet, that was no settling over the river. She stood up slowly, letting her icy blue eyes, the same color as one wood find the river during the winter months, after it froze, rake over the landscape, before making her way back to camp.

The large,silver medicine wolf padded up to the river and lapped at the cool water. FoxHeart's silvery blue gaze run over the Thunderclan bank, The she-wolf returned to her drinking, her ears pricked and eyes still on the Thunderclan bank. After a while the medicine wolf was walking back toward camp with herbs in her jaws and tucked under her chin,"if only i had an apprentice" she thought gruffly and trotted carefully back to the camp

Seapup ground her teeth as she looked at the river. It looked cold, and deep. She did not want to cross it, but she had to. She could smell the food on the other side - there was food on this side of the river, but it smelt like there was more on that side. She needed more right now, not easy.

She poked along the edge of the river for awhile, building up the courage, (or some would say, stupidity) to jump in. In the end, she didn't have to. There were a few stepping stones she could use. She jumped across, and found the smell of the wolves on this side to be slightly different. They wouldn't mind her taking death stuff, would they?

She dried her paws on the grass, since they were cold when they were wet, and set off the find something to eat.

Padding back from the Fourtrees, Grayheart had decided to stop at the river to hunt before heading back to camp. I'm hungry, and the prey pile could use some more. She thought, slowly padding up to the smooth waters of the river. She sat down next to it, looking intently. Almost soon after, a silver flash caught her attention; she reached a paw in but not being prepared, the fish swam away.

Snarling, Grayheart moved back to her position, watching the moving water. Further in the river she spotted darker gray flashes moving; these fish were too fast to catch. Getting up to her paws, the RiverClan she-wolf padded slightly into the river's waters, ready to reach in to grab a fish. After a few moments, she felt something move against her paw, and she quickly reached in, a fish moving wildly in her mouth. Biting down, the fish went limp, and she set it down near the shore, and scented at the air. Water vole; I could try catching one of those. She thought, and slowly followed the direction of the scent. She spotted it near the water, and crouching, Grayheart waited until the vole had moved nearby her, and then sprang out. The vole yelped, and tried swimming away, but it was too slow and Grayheart was able to catch it.

Setting the vole nearby the fish she had caught, Grayheart returned to hunting nearby the river. She didn't spot any more fish, though, and after a while when she did find one, Grayheart had tried moving it to shore with her paw but it swam away. Deciding she'd caught enough, Grayheart picked up the fish and water vole, sprinting back to camp.

Magmafeather arrived at the River. He looked at the water, it looked beautiful. He calmly jumped in and began to swim around a bit. He eventually left the river, heading back to camp.

Slipping in her fur became slick and dark gray. She paddled in the three foot deep water. Making sure the current didn't catch her off guard. Going to the shallow and splashing Sandpup.

She gets sprayed by water, then slips in the shollow water. Splashing her she swims backwards trying to not get splashed. "This is so fun and relaxing," she chimed. She climbs out of the water to soak in the sunlight.

The glistening reflects her coat to the bold silver. Her icey eyes with a white sparkle laying at the pupil. Shaking she paddles to Sandpup and turns on her back letting the water carry her fur sideways softly. "Yes, very much!" She laughed and thought of what the older warriors and wolves would say about them going of to play and explore.

"Want a ride?" She crouching giggling quietly. She wasn't that tired but she was becoming tired of playing. So ready to head back to camp she grinned and let out a small yawn.

"No but thanks for offering," she said with a smile and starts trotting towards camp.

She rolled her eyes and bounded ahead her long legs stretching. She noticed her growth it was strange to grow up so fast it was only yesterday that she felt she was never seen. Sighing she slithered through the camp entrance turning back waiting for Sandpup.

Emerging from the brush she gasped at the sight of the river. It reeked of Crowfood and it looked horrible it barely seemed alive with life any more. Padding along the shore line she followed its path going against the current. Squinting her eyes not wanting to go too far alone.

Foxheart padded with her nose close to the ground, trying to find the edge in which the reek and crowfood stops so that she may find a new water source until the river is once again clean. The large female grumbled to herself, stepping carefully over and around the rotting carcasses, she lifted her head and looked at the river and then to the area on the other side of her. waled up to the water edge, she turned her back, put her head down and started walking forward.

Silverheart lifted her gaze from the river and turned. She smiled at the sight of Foxheart at water's edge probably here the same reason she was. Padding to her side standing a tail length away. With a quiet voice she asked "What do you think caused this?" She said her eyes showing a soft hint of curiousity.

Looking over at her clan member, Foxheart sighed and shook her head,"probably something twolegged related, the water is shiny and eh, rainbow like on the surface..." She trialed off as she reached the end of the smell from the river and looked for a stream to follow. The medicine wolf sat down, her tail automatically curling around her front legs."Such a disgrace, to do something to the water like this,Don't they know other living things need it to live?" She growled, pulling her ears back.

Sighing she sat "Probably.." she said watching the river in silence. "Only if we could show them how much it makes us suffer!" She said in a low hiss under her breath. Sliding her tail over her paws then thinking of ways to get revenge.

Foxheart took a deep breath and shook her head, moving her silver green eyes on to Silverheart,"Revenge is not the answer, here. Right now we need to find a healthy water source while the river is unsafe" quoting herself from earlier, thinking for a moment she said, "And prey" she grumbled sadly.

"Your right..." she said shaking her head then standing. She shook her pelt and glanced at the silver medicine wolf "You think we could find a safe water source together?" She said her eyes hopeful for help. "Also I could maybe hunt while we search!" She said with a light grin on her muzzle.

Foxheart smiled and stood up, stretching out her slim legs,"Of course" She laughed and started walking along the shore, looking for a stream leading away from the river

Falling in step behind the larger wolf keeping her gaze low for any signs of a stream. Her ears perked at the trickle of water to her right. It was distant but still within Riverclan territory stopping to listen closer. The faint stream was visible just fox lengths away. It spread to the right deep into the forest creating a thin path.

Foxheart swung her head around toward the twinkling sound of water and followed it till she reach a small pond, scaring off a few rabbits whom's chin were still wet with water,"looks like we found our water source for now" she said, looking back at the silver warrior

She grinned "Simple now for prey!" She said with a smirk worn on her black lips. Then nodding she quietly slipped under some brush and eyes on the lookout.
