WindClan Camp

Snowflower sighed and removed her face from his fur. "Death is never fun."she said sorrowfully. She leaned on her mate and tried to stop sniffling. She looked to Shadewhisper. The limp body of the wolf she always encouraged to be a medicine wolf as a pup. And Aldo the one she took care of along with the others. She closed her eyes and said a prayer.

Wolfpup heard the rest of the clan mourn. He had never really known Shadewhisper, but his death was one of honor and valor. He had died helping his clan in a way. Shadewhisper had received those wounds after going to get catmint for the herb stores. He let out his howl of his own and he went to sit next to the body. Whispering something into his dead clanmates ear.

Jadepaw came up and sat next to the cold body of Shadewhisper. Jade hadn't known the medicine wolf all that well but his death would stay with her for many moons to come. Bending down, the female buried her muzzle into Shadewhisper's fur and let out a long, sad sigh. "You were a great wold Shadewhisper. You will be dearly missed by all." Jade murmured and closed her eyes mournfully.

Wolfpup sighed, Shadewhisper had been a kind wolf. He hoped to have some light shine through onto this camp. StarClan knew they needed some cheer, Shadewhisper was in a better place. Still the haunts of knowing that they all died was haunting.

Spottedpaw did not move from her position as the other members began to gather around. She just layed down with her head over his scruff. The She-wolf lifted her head as she felt someone else lay down by her. It was Heatherstar. "I...I tried to save him..." She sobbed to Heatherstar. "But his wounds were too great..." The last words were barely a whisper as she put down her head again.

Brokenpaw flicked her ears as she saw many wolves gather in a bunch. She walked over to them. In a moment her veins felt like ice, and her eyes had lost all its shine. "Oh Starclan.." She mumbled seeing Shadewhispers dead body. "How long was this mass-deaths gonna continue?" She asked herself. Imaginating her clan all dead and bloody the apprentice shivered. Shadewhisper looks way different than when i was a pup, he looked so healthy and full of life, now he's...d-dead... The female though, trying to stop a tear from rolling. The apprentice let out a sad howl to announce the sad news.

Heatherstar lay there submerged in Shadewhisper's fur and sent up a silent pray to StarClan. A seemly small voice echoed through her thoughts and she looked up to see Spottedpaw beside her, talking to her. Removing her muzzle from Shadewhisper's fur she looked sorrowfully over at Spottedpaw. "There was nothing you could have done, Spottedpaw. Once StarClan has decided to claim a life, they rarely go back on user decision.Im sure you did all that you could. Shadewhisper was a good wolf, and I'm sure that he will be happy within the ranks of StarClan."

Spottedpaw didn't reply but layed her head back down. She felt more miserable then ever right now. "Starclan...Why?" She thought sadly. She layed her head aginst him, trying to hear his heart. Though she already knew it had long ago gone silent. The thought of never seeing Shadewhisper again made her even more miserable. "No, I will see him again. She told herself. "In my dreams or in Starclan, I know I will see him again." She thought.

Duskfang looked down at his mate as she leaned against him and began to groom her, trying to distract himself. "No, death is never fun." He said, returning his eye sight to Shadewhisper's limp body. "And it seems that all of the Clans are feeling it's sharp sting."

"Shadewhisper was a smart little fella when he was a pup."she started. "He remained calm even in dire situations."she said with a sigh. "We should follow his that action."she huffed and licked his cheek. "And...respect his death..."she said with a shaky voice.

Duskfang nodded silently, agreeing with her words. He hadn't known Shadewhisper as a pup, but found it very easy to believe Snowflower's description. With a small shudder he let out a short cough. The cold was beginning to get to him.

Snowflower grew concerned as Duskfang cough. So, she fluffed up her fur for him. She wanted to share the warmth. She didn't want her mate getting sick now would she.

Duskfang smiled as Snowflower puffed out her fur. He knew how much she didn't like doing this as she said that it made her look like a puff ball, and yet she had still done it to keep him warmer. Puffing out his own fur for extra warmth for them both he tucked his paws beneath himself. He wondered when Shadewhisper would be carried out of the camp for burial.

Snowflower leaned on Duskfang once more. Everyone did say they looked sweet together. She smiled and picked his cheek. She had made a friend, now, a lover.

Duskfang smiled as she leant against him and closed his eyes contently, shutting out the rest of the world except for them warm body of Snowflower pressed up against him. He remembered how he had been lonely, scared and angry. How he would snap at anyone who disturbed him, especially pups, and how Snowflower had helped him see sense. At first he had thought that she was just a friend, and how he had realised his real feelings for her. He started to drift back to the present, the slight tang of death seeping into his nostrils. He wrinkled his muzzle and coughed again, a small cloud of air billowing from his open maw.

Snowflower smiled as Dusk went into deep thought. She puffed her fur up even more for her mate. "You can tell me when the cold is too much. We could go inside the warriors den."she smiled. The fae licked his cheek and waited for how he would reply to her suggestion.

Duskfang looked towards Snowlfower as she spoke and mused for a moment. He found it hard to stay still for long, and as much as he wanted to mourn with the rest of the Clan for Shadewhisper, the cold was stifling him. "If you wish to stay out here with the Clan then don't let me stop you." He said, flicking his tail. "But i think that i am going to go into the warriors' den." Rising to his paws he waited to hear Snowflower's response.

"Sure. I'll be right back though."she said and padded over to the corpse. "May you find peace in StarClan."she whispered into Shadewhisper's ear. Saying a few more longer prayers, she then padded towards Duskfang who was beside the warriors den, where they were just now.

Duskfang inclined his head appreciatively and waited for Snowflower to return. he would have said some preyers next to the Medicine Wolf himself, however his brain was blank for words. Watching Snowflower come back he ducked into the warriors' den and headed for his nest which was next to Snowflower's. He turned around to check that Snowflower was alright and had entered the den after him.

Snowflower moves her nest closer to Duskfang's. She puffed up her fur as she lied down in her nest so that her warmth could reach Duskfang. The female smiled and helped Dusk add more moss to his bed to keep warm. "Double the warmth."she said and licked his cheek before lying down in her nest and puffing up her fur to the max once more.

Duskfang layed down in his own nest and helped Snowflower apply more moss to it gratefully. It was a great deal warmer inside the den walls than it was outside and he was glad that he had Snowflower for company. "Thank you." He said, reaching over and returning the lick to her cheek and puffing out his own fur once more.

Snowflower smiled and lay her head down on her paws. She now had one she truly loved. An empty void had been filled. But with a few friends deaths, her heart was starting to get ripped apart. She owed it to Duskfang, he had pulled her out from any grief and helped her to stay well...sane I guess. Snowy closed her eyes but didn't sleep.

Duskfang gave one last warm look at Snowflower before a placed his own head on his paws and closed his eyes. But he could not sleep. His mind drifted for a while, thinking about this and that, until it landed on the memory of him and Snowflower being on the Outlook rock. He smiled silently to himself. He would remember that night forever. Immersing himself in the memory he began to remember a song that she had sung, and he tried to recall it, his voice croaking slightly due to him lying down.

He couldn't remeber all of the words, but he thought it was good enough.

Snowflower face a slight giggle. She looked to him and smiled. "Thank you."she said with her usual happy nature.

She sang softly and sweetly then looked to Dusk. "Remember the night at outlook rock, right?"she smiled.

Duskfang smiled as he listened to Snowflower sing the song correctly. She had a beautiful voice. "I sure am." He chuckled. "How could i forget?"
