Highstones/Mothermouth

The place where you're closest to StarClan. A huge, underground cavern with a large crystal, the Moonstone, in the middle. When the moon is right, the crystal lights and sparkles. When arriving, you must walk down the large, cramped underground pathway with barely any light. Then when you get there, you must wait. When the crystal begins to sparkle, you lay down and put your nose to the crystal and close your eyes. There you receive dreams from StarClan. When travelling to the Moonstone you cannot eat anything- even travelling herbs.

New leaders go here, as well apprentices for one trip and Medicine Wolves go here every half moon. Once you end the dream, you do not tell anyone what you saw. Leaders come here to receive their nine lives and for guidance.

opening his eyes he rushed back into consiousness. standing up his powerful muscles seemed weak and jelly like. giving a slight gulp he turned and waited for the others to awake.

Speeding back into awakefulness, Firepaw opened her amber eyes and looked around, muzzily. She saw Phoenixfire standing by her and stood up. That was quite something. I'll never forget it, she thought. Firepaw walked over to her leader. She gave him a smile, "So you're Phoenixstar now."

Phoenixstar nodded a little and glanced at the others, a worried look in his orange eyes. he flicked his tail and said quietly "there is danger in our territory... starclan warned me of it. we have to get back as soon as possible" he turned and walked out of the mother mouth and sat just outside it watching the sun begin to rise. his belly rumbled with hunger. he wondered if the others would appear soon. he glanced at hawkpool and icepaw and narrowed his eyes "i had told you both to go back to thunderclan territory"

The firey apprentice nodded and followed Phoenixstar out, wondering what the danger was. Firepaw's ears pricked up in surprise when she saw her best friend and Hawkpool outside Mothermouth. What is Icepaw doing here? she thought. Firepaw sat down next to her leader.

Featherpaw opened her black eyes, taking in the dark chamber. She glanced up at the hole in the roof, a shaft of dawn light filtering through the open space. Must be morning, she thought, getting to her paws and arching her back in a luxourious stretch. Padding out into the open space, she took a deep breath, inhaling the fresh air. She strode over to where a orange colored warrior sat, staring at Hawkpool and Icepaw through narrowed eyes. She stopped, gazing at the wolf. "Greeting, Phoenixstar" she said, dipping her head to the new leader. A new age of ThunderClan has begun...

Phoenixstar dipped his head to Featherpaw before standing and beginning to pad back towards thunderclan. his head held low, remembering when he had waited for rainstar to return from the moonstone. his tail brushed along the ground.

Firepaw turned her head and smiled at Featherpaw before bounding after Phoenixstar. I'm going to be a warrior when we get back to camp! she suddenly remembered . The firey apprentice's eyes glinted. She padded beside the leader of ThunderClan, softly on the snowy ground.

A slight smile appeared on the males features he pushed forward into a light run his firey pelt standin out against the white snow. his eyes glittered with determination
-camp of thunder-

Featherpaw watched as Phoenixstar walked of heading in the direction of the ThunderClan camp. Flicking her ear, her jay feather earring waving in the wind, she stood up, shaking the dust off her black pelt. Bending over to give it a quick lick, she spotted Hawkpool and Icepaw still standing near the cave. "Come on!" she called, racing away after the new leader.

~TC Camp~

Firepaw ran after Phoenixstar and Featherpaw, smiling. "See you at the camp, Icepaw!" she called over her shoulder. The firey apprentice increased her speed. Firepaw flashed across the snow and disappeared into the woods

TC camp

Echosong rose and shook out her pelt. "A new leader..." she murmured to herself before padding out of the cave. Giving a few licks to her chest she gazed out over the mountains. I wonder how Sunclan is doing... she thought absentmindedly before heading back to camp.

Tc camp

Featherpaw stopped running. The black fae glanced around, spotting a flat rock near the entrance to Mothermouth. She sat down near it. She stared over the top of the mountains, peering in the distance. SunClan territory...how will i ever find that Two-leg nest?! After resting for a little while, the black fae stood. She decided that she would have to try to find it herself. I'm going to get lost, she thought, shaking her head. The small medicine wolf apprentice reared up on her back legs, trying to get a better view of SunClan's mountains. Sighing, she dropped back to all fours, padding off in what she thought was the right direction.

~River~

Spottedpaw arrived at mothermouth. She ruffed up her fur aginst the winter breeze, feeling the chill made her feel no better. She had always imagined that her first leader's ceremony would be more happy for her. But all she could think about was that Shadewhisper should be with her right now. She turned her head around and sat waiting for Heatherfrost. Spottedpaw also knew that this wouldn't just be a special time for Heatherfrost. She knew that the clan needed a medicine wolf, and since she was Shade's apprentice she would follow in his foot steps. "Oh Starclan," she prayed. "Please guide me." She paused and thought for a moment. "And Heatherfost." She flicked her tail and watched the shadows dance around her as the sun set.

Heatherfrost bounded up the rough expanse of rock that was shadowed by Mothermouth. She could feel the last rays of the sun seeping through her fur, warming her skin and heart as it turned the sky a brilliant red before dipping beneath the horizon and disappeared for yet another day. Arriving next to Spottedpaw she looked up at Mouthermouth looming above them, and down the twisting passage that tunnelled into seemingly never ending darkness. Turning her gaze to the heavens she watched as the snow flitted down, covering the already white land in another thin layer of snow. Now we must wait for Moonhigh. Turning to Spottedpaw Heatherfrost gave her an unreadable look. She knew that the Medicine Wolf Apprentice had been very close to Shadewhisper, and she was aware that his disappearance had probably affected the young female most. And in more than one way. "Is everything ok Spottedpaw?"

Spottedpaw looked up at Heatherfrost. "Everything's fine, it's just that...I just wish Shadewhisper were here." She then shook her head to clear her worries. "But I'm fine, Really." She glanced up at the sky as it turned from deep red, to purple, to grey. The first stars had already begun to rise. She then turned to Heatherfrost. "Are you Ok?" She inquired, knowing how big of a moment this was to the future leader.

Heatherfrost nodded as Spottedpaw spoke, showing that she understood.Spottedpaw's feelings were like an echo of her own. "I feel much the same as you." She replied simply. Lowering her haunches into a sitting position the female curled her tail neatly around her paws.

Spottedpaw just nodded a reply. She sat in silence for a while as more and more stars began to rise. She began to count each star she saw, trying partly to distract herself from her worries. Soon though there were too many to keep track with. The moon had risen very high now. Spottedpaw rose to her paws. She looked at Heatherfrost and nodded. "It's time." Spottedpaw slowly padded inside Mothermouth. A course of excitement and fear hit her at once.

Heatherfrost looked at Spottedpaw with an air of almost surprise when she announced that the time had come to enter Mouthermouth. Though they had been sitting there for hours, it felt to her like merely a few minutes. Rising to her paws she followed Spottedpaw confidently into the winding tunnel, the darkness instantly swallowing her up and obscuring everything from sight. Although she was blind she could still hear Spottedpaw only a few tail lengths ahead, and occasionally her whiskers brushed against the sides of the walls.

The air felt thick as Spottedpaw made her way deeper into the cave. She had always looked forward to this moment, for her whole life she had wanted to become a medicine Wolf. She continued on the winding path for quite some time. Then She noticed the air thin. A small faint breeze hit her fur, and though she couldn't see, she knew that they were very close to Moonstone. They then came into a small opening and the cave widened. "We're here." She thought. Almost as if to answer her, a sudden bright light flashed into the cave. The sight took her breath away. Even though she had seen it many times before it always surprised her. She glanced at Heatherfrost and nodded, since they were forbidden to speak. Spottedpaw then padded up to the Moonstone and laid down. She then gently touch the stone with her nose, and felt darkness over take her...

Heatherfrost padded through the darkness, her paws trembling slightly due to the chill breeze that was coming from further ahead. After the darkness of the tunnel the moonlight leaking through the gap in the roof seemed almost blinding. Allowing her eyes to adjust she noticed the Moonstone situated in the centre of the cavern, illuminated by the moonlight. The scene was simply breath-taking. Stepping up to the Moonstone she paused, taking a deep breath. Will StarClan accept me? If not, who will lead WindClan? Shaking her head she rid her mind of the last minute doubts. She would not let them cloud her judgment. Laying down she pressed her nose up against the Moonstone and felt a startling cold seize her body and plunge her mind into darkness once again.

(When's Shade gonna post the ceremony? Or do we have to pretend it already happened?) o_o

(Sorry, I don't have time for rp posts during the week since school's started again. Heatherfrost could you please choose what your nine lives would be because it makes everything much easier :]. I'll just post the medicine wolf one here now i guess and sorry this one is kinda insane.)

The darkness surrounding the small wolf was overwhelming- suffocating, even. It pressed down, unrelenting, on all parts of the female's body. She could see nothing in front of her or behind her, and could not even move her head. Only staring straight forward into nothingness for long minutes, wondering if it would ever end or if she would be stuck like this forever and not allowed to escape. Then a sudden fear filled her body. It was like something- or someone- was watching her and approaching quickly from one side, but she was not allowed to run away and frozen in place. The hairs on the back of her neck stood up one by one and her eyes opened wide with fear. This was even worse than being attacked because you knew that was happening; the blows could be avoided and you could run away. But this, this was far worse. You couldn't know what was waiting in the darkness only a few feet ahead. Your mind makes up tricks for you and imagines things waiting with red eyes, large claws, and fangs like knives all in a row, perfect for ripping flesh and snapping necks. You knew with a sixth sense that something was stalking you, just waiting to strike, but not when it would or what it was. Then you begin doubting yourself and feel like you are going insane.

All of these feelings swept through the poor wolf's body. Soon they each faded in time and feeling returned to her legs. She could move her head and walk wherever she wanted. The pressure had disappeared. The fear still remained, though the medicine wolf wasn't sure if it was because the monster was still there or just because the memory was imprinted in her mind and was still on high alert. A high-pitched yowling pierced the air. It was one of pain and suffering- of slow but steady death. Then it faded but was still ringing, as if it was in a cave.

Then, silence. Finally the wolf could feel the ground of the cave beneath her feet and the cold air around her.

Spottedpaw could feel the cave beneath her paws. She unsheathed her claws and dug them into the cave floor, making sure she wasn't dreaming. Then slowly, she opened her eyes. She still half expected to see the infinite darkness surround her. The cave was dark, but she could see the moonstone, now dark, and make out certain objects in the cave. Spottedpaw then stood up and looked around. Feeling her fur still bristling ominously from the dream she quickly sat down and tried to calm herself. "It's ok." She told herself silently. "There's no danger in here. If there's any danger, I'm sure it wouldn't be by Highstones." The She-wolf then thought about her clan mates back in Windclan and her fur began to bristle again. "We need to go home as soon as possible." She thought desperately. "If there's a danger coming to Windclan, Heatherstar must be there." Spottedpaw then curled her tail neatly over her paws and gazed at Heatherfrost, hopefully Heatherstar by now, and waited for her to wake.
