Heatherstar padded into the training area and sat down to wait for her apprentice, eager to begin and to discover what the dog already knew. Of course, she still had some doubts about the dogs residing in the Clan, but she was no going to go back on her decision to let them stay and would try to make the best out of them that she could. Curling her tail around her paws iconically she waited in silence for the arrival of Breezepaw. How long will she be?

The apprentice walked into the clearing. "Heatherstar thank you for choosing me as you apprentice it is an honer." The dog knew she had to he responsible since she was the leaders apprentice. "What are we going to learn first?"

Heatherstar smiled at Breezepaw as she arrived at the training area and rose to her paws energetically. "And I anticipate that it shall be a pleasure training you, Breezepaw." Hearing her question about what she was to teach Breezepaw first she shrugged her shoulders slightly. " I don't have to make the decisions all of the time." She chuckled softly. "What would you like to learn first?"

"How to hunt better. I am pretty good at hunting right now. Did you see the pigeon I caught?" The yellow apprentice was happy with her catch. She was happy to hunt some more for her new clan.

Heatherstar listened to Breezepaw's reply, clearly interested. "No, unfortunately I did not get to see your catch, but hopefully you will be able to improve your skills and demonstrate them to me shortly. Hunting is a very important aspect of Clan life as the Clan cannot survive without a healthy supply of good to stock up the fresh kill pile with. Now, as you might already know, WindClan consists of the fastest and most agile wolves throughout the whole forest, and we need to be, if we want to catch our prey. Out on the moors, rabbits, hares, bison and many other animals are plentiful, but to increase your chances of catching a tasty meal, you will need to learn the hunters crouch." Bending down so low that her belly fur hovered merely an inch above the grassy ground the slim female looked over at her apprentice. "this is the hunter's crouch. Can you do this?"

Breeze got into hr hunters crouchs. She stockled forward. And stood up. "How was that?"she asked.

Heatherstar smiled encouragingly and nodded. "Almost there, just try and bend your knees a bit more. It is harder but it keeps you more stable and means that you can sprint off the start quicker." Heatherstar's whiskers twitched.

She got into another hunters crouch. This time she sprinted forward. She all of a sudden smelt a mouse. She ran at it and bit its neck.

Heathestar watched her apprentice, intrigued, as she sprinted forward and grasped a mouse in her jaws. "Nice catch." The leader complimented Breezepaw warmly, padding up to her side and smiling. "It seems that you have already had lots of practise. If you place your catch over there," she indicated to a patch of ground nearby, [b]"then we can continue hunting and bring the prey back to camp once we have finished."

The apprentice looked at her mentor with pride. Her brown eyes sprakled. "What are we going to do now?" The apprentice looked at her mentor.
