Stormpaw looked around the camp. Why was that pup hurting Echo. They were going to be warriors soon. Then they could be real mates!

Shadowlight arrived at camp and saw that Copperstream had put the doe on the fresh kill pile. she laid down next to him, getting ready to sit vigil. she was so excited and this was a big day for her that she would always remember. she turned to Copperstream, " do you want something from the fresh kill pile before we sit Vigil?" i wonder where Emberfeather is, she wondered.

He nodded "could youchuck me a bird please?" he asked confidently, he had known shadowlight since they had been pups. his eyes glittered with love for the black she wolf. his eyes shone with admiration for her velvet like pelt. he smiled standing walking over to her he placed a paw on one of hers.

Shadowlight leaned into Copperstream, inhaling his scent. she gave his muzzle a lick and whispered into his ear " i love you Copperstream." she smiled at him and then walked over and grabbed a sparrow for Copper and a vole for herself. she walked back over to him and dropped the sparrow in front of him, "here you go." she laid down and began to eat the vole.

Emberfeather arrived at camp, sitting down in front of the entrance. She curled her dusty and dirty tail around her tightly, staring down at her paws. At the happy yips and cooing of Shadowlight and Copperstream, she shot a furious glare at them, baring her teeth and snarling in rage. Runningwind had already died, and she was already hurting, because of her best friend and Copperstream, and now they were going to flaunt in her face! The russet female stood, enraged, and padded off into the forest, abandoning her post. As long as she was away from Shadowlight and Copperstream, then she would be happy. She couldn't just abandon her Clan though, so she wound up making a huge circle. She stopped beside Runningwind's grave, which was up the ravine, away from the camp entrance but along the path that led to the camp. She sat down, sighing and staring up into the starry sky. Oh Runningwind...

Hawkpool noticed Emberfeather walk around in circles and shooting Shadowlight and Copperstream a glare. She raised her eyebrows. And shook her head. Might be because of Runningwind. She flicked her tail and dug her claws in the ground.

Shadowlight caught the glare that Emberfeather threw her way. Shadowlight frowned Emberfeather was her best friend and shadow knew that Emberfeather was probably still grieving for her lover, but that didnt mean she had to take it out on them. Why cant see just be happy for us, Shadowlight thought. and made a mental note to talk to Emberfeather alone when she got back.

Nightowl noticed Emberfeather and sighed, standing he limped rather stumpily over to her and said "come on a walk with me" despite the wording it wasnt exactly a request. his golden eyes watched her with respect and a kindness. the dark male was kind to nearly everyone. he thought perhaps if he listenedto her and let her rant that she might calm down a little.

Copperstream rolled his eyes a little and muttered "why can't she just be happy for us? i mean yes Runningwind passed but why would that make her hate us?". he shrugged wondering why emberfeather would hate him. he chomped down the fat bird and swallowed it comfortably. he raised his eyebrows at his brother. probbaly attempting to woo her. he thought sourly, whywould his brother do that. he shook his head and nuzzled the black wolf who had conquered his heart. the one who had been with him since birth. his best friend and lover Shadowlight. he smiled and whispered "i love you too Shadowlight, you are thelight in my darkness"

Shadowlight finished the vole she was eating and turned to her mate. " i was thinking the same thing about Emberfeather." she looked at the handsome copper colored wolf, they had known each other they're whole lives and they had become best friends, but she felt like she was just getting to know a whole new side of him. He is more caring and loving and he is confident but not cocky, a great hunter but not a showoff. Copperstream was wonderful in so many ways and she didn't only love the good things about him, she loved him and his flaws. She nuzzled him back, " I'll keep your darkness away for as long as im around."

Emberfeather flattened her ears, staring down at her paws. She paused for a long moment before responding. "Okay....sure." The young warrior stood, ignoring Copperstream and Shadowlight's words, which were quite harsh to her. They had no idea how deep her wounds were buried.

Nightowl nodded and said "come on lets go to a border, you choose". his golden eyes watched her with an elderly brother kind of look. his black fur ruffled in a short breath of wind. he ignored his younger brother who was acting like a dimwit and waited calmly for emberfeather to decide.

Echopaw sighed and saw Stormpaw being worried. She started to feel uncomfortable and the kicks were growing violent. These were not noticable, not even to Stormpaw. Echopaw was starting to think Stormpaw was going... insane. Restless, Echopaw whispered the question, hushed, so only Otterpup could hear.
"Mind if I rest here tonight?"

Otterpup broke out into a big beam "yes stay stay!" he grinned and began making Echopaw a nest. he weaved it clumsily but soon a large comfortable nest was made and lay next to Otterpups nest. hegrinned up at echopaw, he was beginning to see her as hismother. he bounced up licking her nose.

Echopaw smiled softly at the pup.
"Thank you dear, thats very sweet of you." The she-wolf said watching him play around then start making a nest.
For some reason, the she-wolf was protective over him, and she thought of him as her own. As she leapt up and licked her nose she laughed. She playfully nudged him on his brlly with her paw and said;
"Silly! Don't you ever get tired?" Amusment shone in the she-wolf's eyes.

Otterpup smiled and snuggled into his nest he asked "could you tell me a story echo?". his blue eyes were tinged with brown. he was still a very young pup. he snuggled down and rested his chin on the outskirts of the nest. his big eyes staring around curiously.

"Haha well it depends. What kind of story do you want? A true story, a simple fable, happy endings?"The soon-to-be warrior asked, smiling at the pup. She wrapped her tail around the pup.

"theres more than one kind of story?" he tilted his head then said "i want a true story!' his eyes thirsted for knowledge.he waggled his rather stumpy tail and gavea big pup yawn.

Echopaw smiled. She was sleepy but her stress was melted away by the pup's hapiness.
"There once was a pup ever so brave! And he made quite an entrance by flying into the Thunderclan camp! He then became the bravest, boldest, silliest pup the clan knew!" Echopaw said laughing, nudging the pup.

Emberfeather sighed. "Let's go." She didn't feel like talking right now, it was just too painful. In more than one way.

Falconwing watched Otterpup and the rest with a small smile. At least Otter was getting along well. And yet away from the pup a deep hurt rose up in him, not from jealousy but the mere thought that he would never ever have pups. He was resolved to this now. He wouldn't allow himself to ever, ever love again. With a soft sigh he simply dropped his head on the ground.

"pappy! come listen and tell stories!" he grinned happily his pup mind not understanding that the two wolves that he loved as mother and father werent together. he didnt care if he did because tohim they were his whole world.

Falconwing perked his ears as he heard his name, resonating in the camp. He smiled and strode over to the pup, with a happy glide he landed next to him and pushed him in between his large paws. "Stories huh? I don't have many stories in the camp..." He smiled still without waver, he wasn't embarrassed about it and never would be.

Otterpup grinned and snuggled in between his pappys paws "come on i bet you can tell me a great one about you pappy! maybe your apprenticehood?" he was curiousand intersted.he waggled his slip of a tail and rested his chin on one of the larger paws.

Falconwing thought about it and smirked, "I feel old, but lets see." His mind wandered way back, "Well a while ago, I was apprenticed to Lunaeclipse along with Firepaw. I was very excited about it, because I was apprenticed with my best friend. Oh it was fun and Ted came along with me all the time..."
