Echobreeze saw the flash of a red berry and finally understood. The silvery fae swept her pups closer to her as she pushed the last pup out.
"I'm going to call her... Silverpup. Her fur is a beautiful Silver." The she-wolf croaked as guilt ate away at her. She nudged the pup towards her as tears welled in her eyes. As she gently tapped each of their tiny heads with her muzzle she whispered to them;
"Starclan knows I would stay... being ripped away from you is the worst I will ever know. But from the stars I'll cheer. The silence will be the calling of your name. I'll love you from the moon and back. I'll love you from the stars. And someday maybe, just someday.... we'll meet again"
She stared at the inoccent scraps of fur, sadness filled her eyes.
"Remember me..." she then whispered to them. Echobreeze then turned to the pup who had fell from the sky.
"Please Otterpaw... look after them. Look down at them as kin, younger siblings. Teach them the love and care I've shown you.... Otter, you are like a son to me. I'll guide your paws from the stars young one. And Falcon... you look after him."
She gently licked Otterpaw's cheek, then nodded to Falconwing. She turned to Rainwhisper and her pups;
"Thank you Rainwhisper, for being the kindest mentor a wolf could ever have. I'll watch over you and your pups... I promise. And Leafpup... thank you for encouraging me through this." The silvery fae was now looking to Rocky; the dog had a worried expression. She weakly smiled and said to him;
"You have come so far my dear friend.... I won't forget you. Just don't forget me." She nudged the golden.
Echobreeze turned to Firestar, the leader had supported her through this.
"Firestar.... thank you for being a faithful leader. I know you'll be an excellent aunt to my pups.... please look out for them." The silvery fae said in a heartbroken voice.
Finally her gaze flickered to Feathersoul. She gave her a small nod that spoke the unspoken. A nod of understanding.... a nod of thanks.
Eating the mouse then nuzzling her pups for the last time with a loving gaze, Echobreeze managed to whisper to Feathersoul;
"Tell Stormchaser I.... I.." before she could finish her eyes grew dim. Her breathing came to a slow stop. Fate had taken yet another victim into its grasp. Echobreeze was dead.

Feathersoul hung her head. What was the worst part of it was that she had to kill her. Kill her... But she understood. She had understood that she wouldn't have made it, that she would have been in pain. She had thanked her for it. She raised her head once more, staring sadly at the pups the new mother had to have left behind. Silverpup, Brewingpup, Firepup, Cloudpup, all left motherless. She curled up beside Echobreeze's pups, trying to keep them warm when their mother could not. Forever, StarClan....

Stormchaser ran over. "No! No! Starclan NO! Not Echo! You Already took my sister!" He fell to the ground. Why did starclan hate him so. HE curlced up around his pups. "I am here for I am your dad."

Brewingpup tossed turned. His mother was cold. He whimpered. He felt his sisters.

Feathersoul rested her head upon Firepup's head, silencing her whimpering. "There there, its okay little one," she cooed in a motherly tone, curled around the pups. I don't know how Rainwhisper will deal with 14 pups... she thought, humming softly to the pups to calm them. Suddenly, Stormchaser barged in, wrapping himself around the pups now as well. There were now three wolves curled around four little pups; one father, one dead mother, and one Medicine Wolf. She chuckled to herself. If Echosong could see me now...

Firestar threw back her head and howled with grief. "Echobreeze", she whispered. Remembering Echo's last words, "I promise, Echo, she said, her voice sad. I will love and cherish them like they were my own pups. The fiery wolf drew herself up and looked at the wolves around her. Then she padded into the tight circle and licked her brother, trying to comfort him, and then looked at the pups. For some unknown reason, Firestar found herself nuzzling Firepup.

Otterpaw saw the events unfold with horror in his eyes, was this a sign from starclan that he wasnt supposed to belong here. his pelt prickled as he saw stormchaser, he snarled adn walked into the medicine den "get out of here stormchaser! Echobreeze told ME to take care of her pups! im their older brother!" his brown eyes glittered.

Leafpup watched Echo as she just went quiet and her eyes grew dim. For someone so young, she felt she understood, not completley but she did. She pawed Echo's face as if to wake her, as if it wasn't true but even she could feel the coldness of the deceased queen. Leaf closed her eyes and remained by Echo's muzzle quietly.

A quiet suddenly took the camp over and the den went quiet. That was until Stormchaser and Otterpaw decided to start yelling. With a sad look in her blue eyes Rainn looked up at the moon. Once again, none of her apprentices had survived longer than her. The black, white pawed female walked up to the den and looked at Otterpaw, "Sweetie, have some respect. He wishes to be with them." she frowned and looked at Storm nudging him with a kindness. "Storm..."

He growled in protection. These where his sons and daughters not otters!"You get away I am the father." He nuzzled his pups. He was crying still.

Rainwhisper stepped on Storm's tail on purpose. "Storm you are the father, but if you love them this quarrel will not take place here and I mean that. Think about your pups Stormchaser, think about them bbefore yourself." On that last note she went to the nursery, and stayed with her own pups.

He cried in sadness. "These are the only things I have left! I am never going to let them go!" He growled telling everyone to leave. He wanted to be with his pups.

Feathersoul clinked her claws on the den floor, rolling her eyes. "Uh, just so you know, this is my den, so don't even think about telling me to leave." There was a bit of harshness in the Medicine Wolf's words, but only because she was a bit at loss of words. She motioned for Leafpup. "Do you want to help me prepare Echobreeze for burial?" she asked, smiling warmly at her only daughter.

"I will bring them to the nursery." He picked up his pups and brought them to the nursery. He placed them in Echo's old nest. He laid down around them.

Leafpup nodded sadly and looked at feather. "Burial? That's because she's gone right? She's happy right?"the small pup stood in between her moms paws and sighed faintly.

Rainwhisper looked at Stormchaser, she had already adopted three, but she wasn't cruel. "Stormchaser, when you are ready... let me take care of your pups please. They won't survive without a mom or milk." Her blue eyes glittered in both sadness and kindness.

"Will I be albe to still vist them? I am not going to let them out of my site." He picked up the pups and put them with Rainwhisper. "I am trusting to to let them live! If they die because of you I am going to be so upset. Leep them safe!" He sat down near by and watched. He cuddled Firepup. "It is ok I am here don't cry." He coded to her. and set her down with the other pups.


Brewingpup growled. He was very cranky. He smelt a new sent. He started to suckle.

Feathersoul nodded. "Yes. Echobreeze is happy now, resting in Silverpelt now." She beconed to her daughter with her tail. "Now, come, let's go see about those herbs....."

Otterpaw walked over to the nursery and sat down watching his brothers and sisters. his tail wagged and he told them "im your big brother Otterpaw! our mother told me to take care of you all" he beamed happily. he would be the best big brother to ever be.

Stormchaser growled. "Leave them alone! They need rest! Rain are they done yet?"

Otterpaw yelled "YOU GO AWAY, ECHOBREEZZE TOLD ME TO LOOK AFTER THEM" he was steaming mad. how dare the wolf that had attacked him stop him from seeing his brothers and sisters he growled "echobreeze was like a mother to me! these are my little brothers and sisters and im going to protect them! your sister killed a dog how do i know that you wont kill my siblings" he walked into the nursery ignoring the stupid wolf and watched his siblings with love.

"They are my pups." He picked up the stupid apprentice and put him in the apprentice den. "Stay away for now. They were just born." He went back to the nursery and laid down next to Rainwhisper.

Otterpaw growled and ran out he ignored Stormchaser tears filling his eyes, he had just lost his foster mother. he wanted falconwing. how dare stormchaser touch him "Echobreeze wanted me to help look afte rthem! why wont you listen to me" he cried. tears flowing down his brown face.

"I am but they need rest. They have had a long day. You can play with them tomorrow." He wipped the apprentices tears with his tail."I am your foster dad remember that. If you ever wan't to talk I am here for you." He was very calm. He knew how this apprentice felt.
