Icepaw trotted over to the clearing, stopping as he padded over to his mentor. "Hi Opalwing." The white-furred apprentice said, sitting down. "What do you think we should work on first?" He added; he wouldn't mind hunting or fishing, or even fighting; he didn't care much for the latter though if Opalwing wanted he did suppose it would be good to learn some battle moves.

Icepaw nodded as his mentor said they would work on fishing, and padded after Opalwing over to the river. The apprentice's blue eyes turned to the water, and he thought for a moment how it would be nice to swim. Realizing he was still training with his mentor, Icepaw looked up and over at the warrior. "Should I try to catch a fish first, or would you like to tell me how to before I start?" Icepaw asked, his tone somewhat quiet as usual. Icepaw sat down next to Opalwing, looking up for her reply.

Icepaw nodded as Opalwing said that they should discuss fishing first, listening as she spoke. His blue eyes looked to the river as Opalwing asked him a question, contemplating for a moment which would be a better place to hide from predators. "If you were a fish, it would be better to hide in the shadows, right?" Icepaw asked, looking over at the warrior.

Icepaw nodded as Opalwing spoke, his blue eyes glancing once more to the river as Opalwing caught a fish. Icepaw nodded as his mentor spoke, and padded closer to the river while sitting down, looking for the slight movement of a fish. A silver shape caught his attention, and Icepaw flung out his paw, yelping as instead he found himself falling into the river. The fish managed to swim away, and other nearby fish had scattered elsewhere. Shaking out his pelt, Icepaw padded back to the shore, his blue eyes looking up at Opalwing for her to tell him how he'd done. At least I kind of got to swim. The apprentice thought to himself.

Icepaw looked up at Opalwing, nodding as she said that he'd need to scoop the fish out instead, and be able to balance better. His mentor had smiled a little before continuing, and had padded away to a shaded area nearby the river. Icepaw trotted over, looking back at the river as Opalwing indicated for him to fish. Icepaw sat down nearby the shore, his eyes focused on the river, his paw out and ready to strike. He noticed that he couldn't really see his reflection, though was sure to be careful it didn't show at all. A few silver shapes moved by, keeping to the shade. Icepaw waited once more, before a silvery-pink salmon swam by. I've got to remember what Opalwing said. Icepaw said to himself, and attempted to scoop the fish out of the water. It landed on the shore, where Icepaw picked it up and felt it go limp. With a smile to himself, the apprentice looked up at Opalwing.

Icepaw nodded as Opalwing had smiled and told him he'd done well in catching the fish, with the slightest flicker of proudness in his eyes. He was usually rather secretive, not showing so much how he felt. The apprentice nodded one more as Opalwing told him about going after different fish, also mentioning that the fish he'd caught was a salmon. The salmon was pink inside, just as his mentor had said. "Alright, I'll look for a rainbow trout." Icepaw replied, facing the river. He wanted to show that he knew what each type of fish was, even though he didn't know what a rainbow trout looked like. Maybe it looks like a salmon? Icepaw wondered to himself. Hearing a splash, he focused back on the river, noticing a silver fish swim by. It didn't look much like a rainbow, so he decided it was a different kind of fish. A few more fish had swam by, and Icepaw continued to wait, his icy blue eyes coming upon a greenish-yellow and pink fish. Deciding that it could look a bit like a rainbow, Icepaw lifted up his paw, swiping carefully at the fish; the fish was a bit heavy, so he used his other paw to help catch it. Biting the fish and feeling it go limp, he dropped the fish near Opalwing's paws, looking up at her to see if he'd caught the right fish.

Icepaw nodded as Opalwing spoke at first, listening as she described what an eel was like; the apprentice was surprised by how an eel looked like. He wondered how something similar to a snake could swim in the water, and also wondered how quick an eel could be. "Eels sound interesting; I wonder if I'd be able to catch one." Icepaw murmured, looking over to Opalwing as she mentioned practicing fighting techniques in water. "Really? Okay." Icepaw said, a flicker of excitement in his eyes. While normally Icepaw didn't care much for fighting, the thought of learning how to fight in water sounded much more fun.
