Snakerocks

Featherpup we are at Sunningrocks not Snakerocks

Lunapaw trotted over to the snakerocks, her ears perked for any sound of adders, her eyes squinted in the brightsunlight that reflected of the rocks. she lowered her head and batted her paws at her eyes in slight pain. she turned her head and lapped at the whtie cresent moon on the thigh of her left back leg.

Featherpaw trotted into the clearing, the bright sun-light reflecting off her black eyes. She walked over to where Lunapaw was standing, sitting down beside her and waiting for the rest of the patrol to catch up.

Lunapaw grinned at featherpaw then sat down flickign her tail, she gave a yawn and shoved her ears forward, listening to the sounds of the wildlife surrounding them. she had never been this far out of camp before and her eyes glittered with excitement.

Featherpaw looked over at Lunapaw. "Is this your first time out?" she asked, fluffing out her fur, sitting up tall and straight, and straining her neck up so she would look less like a tiny pup on its first trip out of the nursery and more like an apprentice.

Lunapaw shrugged "i once went out for a short excoursion with Rainstar, but never out this far" she glanced at featherpaw "have you been out this far before?" she asked curiously, her green eyes fixed on featherpaw.

Padding into the clearing surrounding snake rocks she saw the two apprentices socilizing she smiled then said "well hello you two now lets see if you guys can scent the prey we're hunting" she then smiled remebering the scent of rabbit in the air

"I've been to Sunning rocks, the Owl tree, and the RiverClan border," she said, barely getting the words out just as Hawkpool came trailing over. "Yes Hawkpool," Featherpaw spoke, hopping onto one of the rocks. Lifting her nose in the air, a strong smell poisoning the air wafted through her nose(snake xD). She screwed up her eyes at the smell, but quickly caught some other scents as well. "I can scent......some mice......rabbit....and vole!" she yipped, saliva pooling in her mouth as she ran off the list of things she could scent.

Chuckling she replyed "yes but what seems the closest,its what smelles the strongest

Featherpaw took in another gulp of air, a strange scent (adder) washing over her scent glands. "I...I'm not sure what it is...." she said, still pondering what it could be.

Think it was a snake she saw one slither out of the rock then shouted "back away" she then lunged at it griping its head then shook it till it was limp then droped it saying "remember that scent if you smell it run away from it as quickly" then scowled and buried the snake under some dirt then padded off

Lunapaw growled and pounced on a long thin stick "haha! stupid snake you cant defeat me and featherpaw! we are the best apprentices ever!" she growled batting at the stick her tail in the air, forgetting she was an apprentice she played like a pup.

Noticing lunapup playing with a stick she just stared still welled up with anger for that stupid snake
She then went hunting for a few minutes and brought back a rabbit and squirrel then called to the "paws" to come

Featherpaw was glued to the spot, blood welling around her paws. She stared at the lifeless snake, its fangs still barred in a last attempt. Featherpaw bent over the scaly body, sniffing it. "Is it really dead?" she asked, but not to any particular wolf.

Lunapaw stopped as she heard featherpaws words, she turned and walked over sitting down she poked the dead body with a paw when it didnt attack she smiled "i think its dead'

A grin spread across Featherpaw's face. "Oh well, more den decorations i suppose,"

Lunapaw giggled at Featherpaws remark and said "come on featherpaw lets go and explore those big rocks that they call snake rocks!" without waiting for an awnser the apprentice made her way towards them, her eyes squinted because of the bright sunlight reflecting of the rocks. she whimpered a little in pain.

Featherpaw darted up beside Lunapaw, seeing her wince as the sun emerged from behind a shallow cloud. "Whats wrong?" she asked.

Lunapaw sighed and glanced at featherpaw "you arent the only one with a disadvantage featherpaw" her eyes filled with self hatered "my eyes are weak in the sun, really weak" she admitted "but at night they are as good as owls eyes!" she sighed and lay down on the warm rock, her nose shoved between her paws as she struggled not to cry.

Featherpaw settled down beside the follow apprentice, not even attempting to make herself bigger. "But that means at night, you'll fight like FoxClan, DireClan, and CoyClan!" she said, trying to comfort her friend.

Still angered by the snakes presences she call the apprentices to get ready o go go with a snarl

Featherpaw swiveled her head around at Hawkpool's snarl. She turned back to Lunapaw, standing up. "Well, we should go ahead and try to catch something while were here," she said, leaping from rock to rock in search of some quick and easy prey.

Shaking her head she tried to clear her mind
She then went and got the rabbit and squirrel she killed earlier then sat down at the rocks waiting for the "paws" to finsh hunting

Featherpaw hopped up on a large, flat rock. She gazed out among the clearing, hoping a mouse or a vole would be stupid enough to scurry out of its burrow. Not seeing anything, she padded among rock piles, searching for a hole or crack that might be home to some prey. She stopped, peering into a small hole filled with scurrying noises. Featherpaw dropped down on her stomach, inching over to the hole. She shoved her paw inside the hole, quickly scooping out several mice and killing them with a swift bite to the neck. She continued to process until she was sure the burrow was empty. She bent down, picking up three mice by their tails and draping two others across her back. She slowly manuvered down the rocks, back over to where Hawkpool was. "I got really lucky, that burrow was huge!" she said, dropping her catch.
