Sunningrocks

The small white pup dangled in her mothers grasp, a solid question in her mind. why couldnt she make noises like the others? she tried again and no sound came; a disappointment filled her tiny frame and she began opening and closing her mouth in a silent form of crying

Adderpup squealed as something hit him. He opened his mouth, whining. He yelped in surprise as he was lifted off the ground and placed on the furry back of his mother with his other siblings. He was lolled to sleep at the gentle rocking of her steps.

Brewingpup walked to the sunning rocks. He needed to clear his head. Did any one love him? He felt left out.

(I should post more often. Anyway, I'm going to be gone for three days.)

Blazestorm walked out on the rocks. He was so confused he saw a pup. "What is your name? You are one of echo's pups aren't you." Blazestorm picked up the pup and went back to camp.

The huge male walked up and stood on the edge of sunning rocks looking down into the water that washed past him. he looked up at the evening sky and shook out his fur. His golden eyes looked into the clean blue water before looking over his shoulder. Sitting down his tail brushed the dusty rock.

Stick quickly arrived,scenting the clear water a ways away. He glanced around and spotted a black wolf. He frowned and flicked his ears. I wonder who he is. He shrugged and went to the river. He lowered his head to take a drink. His pink tongue flashing out at the water.

Hawkpool slowed after Stick. She nodded to Nightowl. "What are you doing here Night?" She sat down beside him staring across the water. She then wrapped her tail around her paws.

Stick glanced up a Hawk began talking with the black wolf. He shrugged and licked his muzzle clean of the water. He yawned and fell on his back. Stick lowered his ears and gazed at the sky. His dark amber eyes care-free.

Hawkpool glanced as a thump sounded. She chuckled as she saw Stick lie down. She sighed and turned back to Nightowl. Her ears twitched. "So,how's it like being a father now?" She grinned and tilted her head.

Rainwhisper dashed forward to see Hawkpool with a small dog she had met before. She had nothing against this dog as she saw him as no threat to her or her pups. She pranced up to Nightowl, pushing her paws against his side.

Hawkpool turned to see Ranwhisper. "Huh,looks like everyone is coming to Sunning rocks." She blinked. One of her ears twitched.

Stick glanced up at see another black wolf come. He sighed and sat up side-ways. He closed his eyes. His head tilted forward to the ground.

Blackpaw came up and set her kill down as she watched the older wolves. BORING! She huffed silently and lied down, soon licking her black paw.l She sniffled and glared at them all, oh how she hated most of them. It would take a determined and very patient wolf to get through to her.

Hawkpool noticed her apprentice and smiled back at her. "Hey,you want it try fishing. It may be slimy,but at least its worth trying." She flicked her tail and blinked her eyes.

Adderpaw pranced up to the rocks. The black male blinked his blue eyes curiously, peering around excitedly. Upon seeing his father on the rocks, the apprentice leaped up, scrabbling to get a hold on the sleek stones as he hauled himself up. He smushed himself between Rainwhisper and Nightowl, peering up at him with an impatient glint in his eyes. "Wha'dwy do now?" he asked, cocking his head to the side curiously.

Hawkpool flicked her ears. Then padded over to her apprentice. She blinked and sat down. "This is Sunning rocks. Riverclan and Thunderclan have fought for it many times." She sniffed the air. Her ears twitched. Hawkpool then smiled at Black.

Stick sat up straight as Hawk explained the area they were in. His nose twitched,then he turned to see yet another wolf come to the river. He sighed and then rolled his shoulders. The leave fell from the trees,landing in the clear water. Making them ripped into the shore.

Nightowl chuckled and said to Adderpaw "try and see if you can smell prey in the cracks of the rock, you have small enough paws to stick them in there and flip them out" the huge golden eyed wolf lay down watching his son. he winked at rainwhisper a little flirtatiously.

Adderpaw nodded, noting how his father shot a bit of a daring glance at Rainwhisper. He smirked as he trotted away happily, sniffing the air. Jay... he thought, locking his eyes on the blue bird as it struggled to yank a worm from under a stone. Wriggling his haunches, he sprang, landing squarely on its back. He yelped in alarm as it fluttered under him, and he sank his claws in it. Somehow it tore from his grasp, leaving a large pawful of feathers as it weakly fluttered away, spilling blood. He raced after it as he heard a thump. He approached its body on the ground, feebly flapping its wings as the life drained from it. Killing it with a swift blow, he carried the bird back to his dad, dropping it at his paws with a goofy grin on his face.

Blackpaw watched her mentor, as she came up to her and as everything else went on. "Why wouldn't they want it? It's warm, near water an seems to be teaming with prey that runs up right under your nose." She yawned at the end of her sentence as if the short response she had spoken had been as boring as the softly rippling water beside her.

Hawkpool shook her head with a grin on her face. "Thats true,but Sunning rocks actually used to be surrounded by water." She flicked her tail. Her gaze watching Blackpaw silently.

Blackpaw seemed unimpressed. "So? That doesn't change the appeal for the area. It will remain the same whether its covered by water or not, it may trade from Riverclan to Thunderclan from time to time, but it really doesn't matter what history it had." She hated it, when she knew she was right and someone had to go ahead and add something to it as if she was some stupid newborn.

Nightowl grinned at adderpaw and said "go ahead dig into your first caught prey" the warriors voice was warm with pride for his son. Catching a glimpse of Blackpaw he shook his head with some amusement, the young apprentice was obviously being a challange for her mentor. The Handsome black warrior looked over at his son.

Adderpaw's eyes lit up at Nightowl's comment. He burried his black mussel into the dead Jay, retching as blue, black and white feathers clogged his throat. Spitting them out in disgust, he tried again, this time, where it had bit stripped bald. He licked the blood off his face, pursing his lips. "I think I like deer better," he said before taking another chunk out of the bird.

Hawkpool rolled her eyes. "Actually it did." She yawned and rolled her shoulders. "Back then,no one but Riverclan really could swim. So they had claimed Sunning rocks." Her ears twitched. "But the River retreated and it was surrounded by land. Thunderclan land to be exact." She grinned. "So then we claimed it,but Riverclan said that they had it before,and they had a right to keep it."
