The River

Where it marks the border of Riverclan, and where most of our clanmates to come and hunt fishes during the spring. The stepping stones are only reachable in the Late Spring and Early Summer.

Silentpaw slowly trotted after Ravenpaw and Fangpaw. He had enough of fishing at it was about time he saw Lunapup. He yawned and shook his fur once more.

- SC CAMP -

The StormClan leader was now on the other side of the river. Again, sopping wet and chilled to the core by the icy water. It cleared his head for a few moments, though, and for that he was grateful. Shaking some water off his pelt, he sat on the bank and waited for the others. Shadestar really had no knowledge of RiverClan territory and figured that they would be better at leading him to a perfect camp. Then his thoughts traveled to Lightdawn and his heart grew heavy. He bowed his head in mourning and his eyes closed for a few moments before opening. Composing himself, the dark male stood up and trotted to the edge of the river, tail between his legs, and looked at his own reflection. Leaning down he took a quick drink of the water there before moving backwards and sitting down once more.

Silentpaw trotted at the bank of the river and sat enxt to Shadestar. He yawned before turning to his ex-Shadowclan leader. "This wouldn't really be a good place." He said. "The pups could be playing but then the fall into the river." He yawned and licked his chest.

Stopping at the river bank she dipped her muzzle in the water. Her eyes shimmering as she whipped her head around, this wasn't a place she would like to raise her own pups. Stepping back she plunged into the rushing cold water releasing all of her energy. All the leaves and dirt wiped clean as she paddeled towards the other side. Hopping onto shore she shook and looked at Silentpaw nodding in agreement. Their was too much risk for the pups here.

Fangpaw came just in time to hear Silentpaw. He nodded as well. It really wouldn't be such a good place. Remembering his pup times, the apprentice recalled that he wanted to go explore, and if there was a river in the middle of the camp, the pup's would have a lot of trouble. "I agree." Was all that he said seeing as pain flashed in his eyes too. Memories of his friends that are now in Sunclan. But shaking his head as if to get the memories out, the apprentice then looked upon the other's with his turquoise eyes now expressionless.

Fangpaw felt bad if he took a fish from her, so the apprentice shook his head. Though just by staring at the fish, Fangpaw wanted some. "I'll take one later." He told everyone, and looked around for Ravenpaw. She still hadn't arrived yet, so he was becoming worried. Maybe she went to look for something along the way. Turning his head so he was looking at the other's, Fangpaw sat down and waited.

Ravenpaw suddenly turned up dripping wet and clutching a bird between her jaws, padding over to fangpaw she sat down and laid the bird down gently "would you like to eat with me fangpaw?" she asked inocently enough. her midnight blue eyes watched him closely, a slight smile decorated her pretty muzzle. flicking her fluffy tail she lay down and glanced up at him with a gentle look in her eyes.

Glancing at the tempting pile of the fish her she shook her head. "I already ate, but thank you Foxheart" she barked politely. Sitting on the soft soil she raked a paw over the dirt. Her claws drawing lines as she waited for the others to arrive and let them eat. Yawning she shook her head a blinked several times.

Shadestar turned away and said nothing to Silentpaw and Fangpaw, instead rolling his eyes. I'm obviously not going to put a camp in a river. he thought to himself, slightly annoyed as he always seemed to be. The leader shrugged at the Medicine Wolf's suggestion. "I'd like to get this done as soon as possible so we don't waste time. I would like a camp closer to ShadowClan territory and further from the river but it also must have some amount of cover and a place to make a good wall and easy to defend. Anyone know of any place?"

Fangpaw nodded solemnly, and shook his head at the leader. Walking over to Ravenpaw, he motioned for her to eat first, seeing as he was being a complete gentleman. "Eat first." He told her, then sat down and looked behind him to more of the Shadowclan area. He was a Riverclan wolf, so all this was still new to him, and even though he was allowed on the territory, Fangpaw still felt like he needed to sneak around.

Ravenpaw chuckled gently and took a couple of bites of the pigeon. "ok ok i have eaten some now eat with me" her eyes glittered with amusement. her eyes glittered with hopefullness she smiled gently.

Fangpaw chuckled after, and bumped her gently as a joke. "Fine, you don't have to be like that." He chuckled once again, then bent down and took a small bite from the bird. It was juicy and delicious. Then leaning down once again, Fangpaw took another bite. "Do you," He began, then swallowed the bite down soon after. "know anywhere that might be good for the new camp?" He finished off, looking expectantly at Ravenpaw.

Taking a bite the pretty medicine wolf frowned and shrugged "when i was wandering through riverclan territory near the old border of riverclan and shadowclan i found a large clearing that was surrounded by brambles" she shrugged and swallowed her mouthful "do you?"

Hearing Ravenpaw mention a clearing, the apprentice nodded. It might work. But then again, he wasn't the judge. "Then mention it to them." He pointed his muzzle at the two leaders. But when she asked him if he had a place in mind, Fangpaw shook his head. He had never really explored, so it was just all a blur to him.

Snowstorm walked into the clearing and grunted as he heard Shadestar talk about finding a camp more in ShadowClan territory. They should find a camp that was somewhere in the middle of the territory's. He spotted Silverheart and quickly went over to her. "Sorry it took me so long," he said, sitting down next to her.

Silentpaw had a place in mind that he thought was peaceful and nice. "OR," He said before Ravenpaw had the time to go up to Shadestar. "When me and Nightfeather were trainging the site was near the river and the camp. It is surrounded by bushes."

Magmafeather listened to the two ideas for camps. Either could work, he thought, but he'd prefer Silentpaw's idea overall. But, he wasn't the judge either. Graystar, Shadestar, and Nightfeather would decide.

Shadestar watched as Silentpaw approached him. The apprentice mentioned a place that he and Nightfeather had discovered and suggested it as a camp. Shadestar nodded his head. "Good idea." he praised. "We can find the place once everyone else is ready. It is probably good to be relatively close to the river so we can use it as a source of food with ease." His golden eyes turned away to look for Graystar. "Just tell me when you are ready to continue, Graystar."

She glanced at Snowstorm and smiled warmly. Scooting closer to him she whispered to him gently. "Its okay, we were are just looking around" she said. Grinning she stood up and licked her chest fur. Her paws felt an icey numbness beginning to lock on. Padding towards the group she shook her fur and snorted as dust lifted into the air.

Finishing the fat pigeon the medicine wolf stood, shaking out her bag that hung around her neck the herby scented wolf lightly licked her friends head, well she had more feelings for Fangpaw than she should have as a medicine wolf apprentice. ignoring this fact she turned and padded over to shadestar and sat down waiting.

Fangpaw stood up as Ravenpaw licked his head and then padded over to the clan leader. He knew it was wrong, and it was going to harm her position in the clan, but he couldn't help it. Shaking the thought away as he shook his fur, Fangpaw waited for either Shadestar or Graystar to lead the way over to the clearing that Silentpaw had suggested for them to check out for the new camp. From what his friend had said, it seemed like a good place. But once again, Fangpaw had little say in these things, so he stood by and waited.

Silentpaw sat far away from Ravenpaw and Fangpaw. He whined gently as Ravenpaw licked Fangpaw's head. She was eating and hanging around with him alot now and he was wondering if she forgot all about Silentpaw. He lay down and rested his head on his paws. He knew it was bad to think of this but he felt he could not trust her any more. He hoped that they were still friends but he felt like he was more sociable with Lunapup but then she was good friends with Bluepup. He felt left out but tried not to show it.
