Moonpaw, Dawnpaw & Heatherpaw Training with Russetstar

Russetstar walked into the area, dominated by a large tree stump. Having asked Moonpaw, Dawnpaw and Heatherpaw to join him here, in this isolated little area, he waited patiently. The wind whistled through the dry twigs and logs nearby.

(Sorry for short post, no creativity.)

Moonpaw padded into the area. It had taken her a while to follow him here, the unfamiliar terrain forcing her to move slowly. She swung her head around, trying to smell Russetstar. The wind blew his scent in many directions, but she pinpointed the strongest smell and headed towards it. Once she started to close the gap between him, the butterflys started in her stomach. Her first apprentice training! She halted in front of him. "Sorry for taking so long," she panted. She tilted her head curiously. "What will we do today?" she sensed the presence of something large beside her, and nosed it carefully. A stump. She shrugged and swung her head back to Russetstar.

Seeing Moonpaw come over, Russetstar stood up. "Ah, Moonpaw," he said, greeting the newly-made apprentice. "Welcome to your first apprentice session. While we're waiting for Heatherpaw to come, I would make use of the time by familiarising yourself with this environment, as I know it's new."

(Apolegies for the very late post!)
Heatherpaw hastily bounded along to where Russetstar had instructed her and Moonpup to congregate for their training setion. My first ever training setion, and I get to do it with one of my best friends! At that moment in time, Heatherpaw didn't think she could have felt any happier. Though a spark of worry flared up in her chest as she remembered one of the reasons why she was racing along as fast as her legs could carry her. I'm late! As the distinctive brown and whit pelts of her Leader and Moonpaw lumed in front of her, she skidded to a messy halt before Russetstar and peered up appoligeticaly at him. "Sorry I'm late..." she shuffled her paws faintly, leaving small paw shaped marks in the dirt.

Russetstar noticed a small brown blur skid to a stop before him. "Heatherpaw, glad you've arrived," he replied smoothly. "Now you have come, we better get started. Hm....let's start with a little warm-up. Is that okay with you two?"

Moonpaw nodded slowly. "Yeah, thats fine." She hadnt gotten to know the terrain that well yet, but it would have to do. Its not like in a battle you would get to find all the dips and holes.

(I have a question. Can one of moonpaws eyes slowly begin to regain sight untill half way through the training its good again? Or do I have to buy it in the shop? Or an I not aloud at all.)

Heatherpaw's ears shot up again, standing up on the top of her head like satellite dishes, already twitching at every tiny sound that entered into them. She nodded her head thoughtfully, "Yeah, that's fine with me too." She quickly jumped to her feet and shuffled back a little so that she was looking straight ahead at her Leader. Her paws itches with anxiety but also eagerness too, I am going to become the best warrior EVER! She vowed silently and began to focus her attention on Russetstar, her mind and body prepared for any task Russetstar could throw at his apprentices.

(I would say that's fine - as far as I am aware.)

Russetstar glanced between the two young wolves. "Right, this is going to be a small sniffing task to get you in the frame of mind which is needed for your next assignment." He sat down, remembering what it was like when he was a 'paw.

"Last night," he continued, "I left some strong-smelling mushrooms somewhere around this area. Your jobs," his eyes landed on Heatherpaw, and then Moonpaw, "is to locate them and bring them back to me, before noon." He looked up at the skies above, dotted with clouds. It was about.....half way through the morning? He was not the best at judging time, however he knew that these apprentices would be able to complete this task.

"Your time.......starts......now."

Heatherpaw's eyes shone eagerly. This was something that Moonpaw could do with ease, without having to worry too much about not being able to see, but at the same time challenging. She set off after Moonpaw as she headed towards the strongest scent, her nose twitching and her gaze flickering back and forth. We will find you Mushrooms!

Watching the two apprentices work together to find the mushrooms, Russetstar smiled; they were certainly good friends. There was no doubt that they would fight at each other's side in battle.

Heatherpaw felt a spark of joy re-kindle in her chest as Moonpasta stated that she was happy that they were able to train together. At first, as much as she had loved the prospect of training together, she was unsure of how Moonpaw had felt about it. Though all her doghts vanished from her words. Her mouth parted slightly as if she was about to speak, though quickly snapped them shut again as Moonpaw motioned in the direction she thought the mushrooms to be. Her head swiveled around so that she could inspect the area and hopefully locate the hidden mushrooms, that they were required to find to complete their task. She tentivly took a step forward, eyes narrowed as she searched for their ilusive prize. Hm.......THERE! "Well done Moonpaw! There by here!" With a joyful glance at Moonpaw she began to bound forward in the direction of the mushrooms that were nestled inside a tuft of grass.

(Sorry for the lack of quality in this post xD Im not in a writing mood at the moment :s)

Moonpaw followed her eagerly, her paws trading lightly over the ground. The smell of the mushrooms was overpowering now, they had clearly found them. "We found them! What color are they? Are they big? Round? Fluffy? Smooth?" She lashed her tail eagerly, standing beside Heatherpaw. She felt pride in her from completing her first asignment.

Heatherpaw grinned as she heard Moonpaw's excited voice throwing questions at her one after the other. "They're round, brownish creamy, and a little fuzzy." Her words spilt out in a slight giggle before she turned her head and looked at Russetstar with an excited and questioning glance. Are these the correct mushrooms? Have we completed our first ever task?!

Russetstar had been watching Heatherpaw and Moonpaw with a twinkle in his eyes, listening to their conversation and how they worked together. Seeing Heatherpaw's questioning glance, he nodded, smiling. "You have indeed completed the first task," he replied. "We are still waiting for Dawnpaw, however, for the meanwhile, I'll start you off so you have something to do while we wait.
"There are many rabbits in this area. It is your job to locate one, and to sneak up on one." Russetstar pretended he was stalking something. 'Try to bend like this," he added, before standing up again. "You guys ready?"

Dawnpaw ran towards the spot where Russetstar had instructed her, Moonpaw and Heatherpaw to meet him. She saw Russetstar already starting training. "Sorry I'm late," Dawnpaw said. "I over slept."

"Don't panic," Russetstar reassured Moonpaw. He bent over again. "Look at the way my paws dig into the earth, but not enough to hold me back when I start running. Try and copy -"

"Sorry I'm late, I overslept."

"Ah, Dawnpaw. We're about to start a hunting exercise. As Moonpaw is confused, I will come with you guys to give you tips."

"You can do it, Moonpaw." Dawnpaw said with a lick of Moonpaw's shoulder. "Come on, I'll try to help." she said. Dawnpaw dugged in her claws like Russetstar.

Heatherpaw smiled as Dawnpaw approached and joined in with the training session. It felt good to train with her friends again. As Russetstar demonstrated the hunting technique, she did her best to mimic his action and posture, though when Moonpaw growled, she shot her a sympathetic glance. "Don't worry Moonpaw." She padded over next to her friends and watched as Dawnpaw tried to reassure her. "You will be a natural in no time. What is it you do not understand? Would you like us to describe to you how to stand and bend correctly?"

Dawnpaw tried to nudge Moonpaw into the right position, and all the while she hoped she wasn't taking it too far. She knew she didn't really like to be pitied. Considering her eyes, she was still sure that she would become a valiant warrior. "Dig in your claws uh.... until... they are..... half in and half out. Just press your paws in."
