Ripplepaw training with Graystar

(Though I have another apprentice, Snowpaw; there aren't any warriors in RiverClan who are active and without an apprentice, so I will mentor Ripplepaw as well.

If anyone would want to, feel free to enter!)

Graystar trotted through RiverClan territory, slowing down her speed as she saw a clearing in the distance. This was a clearing commonly used for training apprentices in; being full of prey, and close to the river, it was a good place to be mentored in. The gray-furred RiverClan wolf sat down, glancing around, a slight breeze ruffling her pelt. She waited for Ripplepaw to arrive; then they could begin on her training.

Graystar let out a snarl, and watched her apprentice. The mountain lion's eye had been injured; it would probably be hard for it to see out of that eye. Before she could attack the large cat as well, Ripplepaw had been thrown off and the mountain lion was running towards her. Graystar let out a growl, leaping in front of the feline and biting down on its muzzle. The mountain lion snarled, and moved to the side. It lunged for the leader, managing to bite her on her shoulder.

Graystar glared at the large feline as it had bitten her, though before she had time to make another move the mountain lion had tried scratching her with its large paw, managing to hurt her on her ear. The leader's golden eyes watched as Ripplepaw attacked the large cat, before it had thrown the apprentice off. Ripplepaw didn't hesitate and attacked the mountain lion once more, injuring it and managing not to be injured herself. The tan feline wasn't focused on the RiverClan leader anymore, and Graystar thought this could be her chance to attack it again. Nodding 'thanks' to Ripplepaw for helping her, the gray-blue wolf ran at the mountain lion, hoping for it to loose its balance and fall over where they'd be able to attack it more.

Graystar watched as Ripplepaw had helped her make the mountain lion fall onto its side. She padded over to the large feline, slightly biting its throat before the medium-sized wolf let go. The mountain lion's eyes were wide, and it seemed as if it knew better than to attack RiverClan wolves again. "I think it's learned its lesson. Let's chase it away from our territory, there's no need to injure it severely once more unless it tries attacking us another time." Graystar said, backing up and letting out a fierce snarl, her pelt bristled and ears flattened back against her soft pelt.

Graystar watched as the large feline trotted off like a little kitten, twitching her ears. Her golden eyes blinked as she felt pain in the ear that had been scratched; it had been torn, and the medicine wolf probably would need to check on that. There was also the wound on her shoulder, which hurt a lot, though she would be fine for now. Her apprentice, Ripplepaw, had much less scratches and didn't seem to be much injured. "Ripplepaw, you fought excellently. If you hadn't helped that mountain lion would have hurt me even more." She told the apprentice, sitting down and licking her gray pelt. "You may choose what we work on next, or if you'd want to continue fighting predators that's fine, whatever you'd like to do" The leader said, flicking her ears before she realized it would hurt her.

Graystar glanced at her apprentice, and nodded. "Let's work on defensive fighting then, and hunting afterwards if you'd want." Without hesitating, the leader leaped at her apprentice, her ears flattened back and pelt bristled. The gray wolf wanted to see how well her apprentice would do on defense at surprise, as this would happen in battle during surprise attacks.

Graystar leaped to Ripplepaw's side instead, as the apprentice had managed to avoid her move. Ripplepaw had then held onto her hind leg; if the leader tried moving she'd probably end up hurting herself. "Ripplepaw, remember not to bite down very hard, it wouldn't be good if we got hurt." Ripplepaw's move didn't hurt her very much, as she had thick fur; however, she had a different plan in mind.

Graystar watched her apprentice walked off, and was about to plan an attack- the reason she had told Ripplepaw not to bite down hard- when her apprentice ran at her. Graystar lost her balance, ending up on her side. She blinked her eyes, before focusing on the battle. The leader, still staying where she was, tried biting Ripplepaw, though softly so it wouldn't hurt.

Graystar tried to get up to her paws, though before she could Ripplepaw made another move. Falling back onto her side again, and feeling a bit dizzy, the RiverClan leader shook her head. Graystar glanced up at her apprentice, shaking out her gray pelt and getting up to her paws, and stepped backwards. The she wolf waited a few moments and then ran forward at Ripplepaw, trying to make the apprentice fall over.

Graystar twitched her nose as Ripplepaw held onto her muzzle. The wolf stepped back, shaking her head slightly. Her gray pelt twitched. The leader wondered what move she would try next, perhaps one so that Ripplepaw would need to do a defensive move.

Graystar looked at the apprentice, twitching her ear that wasn't injured. "I suppose that could be considered one; would you like me to teach you a move so you'd know one? The move where you go limp in battle as a wolf has pinned you down is one defensive move too." The RiverClan wolf added, sitting down on the clearing.

Graystar watched her apprentice practice the move, nodding. "It works best when you're pinned down in a battle and have no other moves you can do. Just go limp, and then once your opponent lets go of you, move away and plan or try another move." Her golden eyes looked at Ripplepaw as she noticed the apprentice challenge her, waiting to see what Ripplepaw wanted to do. Graystar twitched her tail, a slight breeze ruffling her pelt as it went by her.

Graystar watched her apprentice, shaking out her gray pelt after Ripplepaw had finished her move. "That move could work in battle; be careful for your opponent not to manage to hold onto you when you leap at them though. You did well, Ripplepaw; perhaps you could have landed a bit better, but it was good move; you'll be excellent in battle once you're a warrior." The leader said to her apprentice, twitching her ear that hadn't been injured, as her other ear still hurt slightly.

You can still continue training if you'd like, to work on hunting and such and for when you become a warrior/senior warrior, though you don't have to continue if you wouldn't want to. (You'll become a warrior once you have 20/20 on your Clan symbols, which should be soon)

Graystar's eyes grew wide slightly as she noticed the deer running towards her. As they were for Ripplepaw to hunt, Graystar instead raced alongside them, being a fast runner, and making sure they didn't move too far away so that Ripplepaw could have time to make her move. She didn't bite the deer, or really do much other than keep the two together. The gray leader looked back at her apprentice to see if she would try to hunt.
