SunClan Camp

Moonwhisper halted as she came over a rise. Her paws were torn and bleeding, her body aching. She glanced around tiredly, her nose twitching. She wasn't sure if Oakpaw had followed her or not. She couldnt smell him, although it could just be the mountain air. Never before had the air smelled so clean, so fresh. She licked her paws, wincing in pain. Raising her head again she carried on, her pawsteps heavy.

Turning a corner her mouth hung open. Before her was a large cave entrance, a couple flat stonnes infront of it. She tried to see what was behind the darkness. It looks like the Mothermouth... she thought, her eyes wide. Slowly, without looking where she was going, she headed for the cave. She yelped in pain as she ran into a large tree stump. It looked like it has been felled by lightning. The wind must have smoothed it of. As she stepped paw into the cave, her eyes ajusted to the darkness.

It was a large space with tunnels leading of of it. She stepped forewrd slowly, her pawsteps echoing of the walls. Choosing the nearest tunnel she went in. After a couple of fox-lengths, it opened up into a smaler cave. There was a small pool of water, and light was streaming in through a hole in the cave roof. Medicine den! She thought excitedly. Backing out, she trotted back into the mane cave. She she looked around she named things in her mind. Leaders den, Apprentice den, Warriors den, Nursery, Elders den. Her mind reeled with excitement. She quickly examined the cave, peering into short caves and under overhangs. "This is perfect!' she exclaimed.

Her voice bounced of the walls. echoing her find. She felt calmness run over her and knew that Starclan accepted this as their den. She gave a long howl, her eyes closed. She waited eagerly for Oakpaw to appear. As she waited she stepped outside the den. Nodding to the patch of stongs and dirt, she murmured," Sunning rocks and freshkill pile." Glancing back into the cave, she noted a shallow dip in the ground beside the leaders den. "Freshkill pile when it rains." Leaping up onto the stump, she felt her paws find natural groves. "Leaders stump!" she finished triumphantly.

oakpup padded up and sat down panting, his eyes were dull and angry. glancing up at moonwhisper he shrugged "big deal, everyone will end up together and i will be alone again" he flicked his ears back and lay down muttering "you might as well head back and give them the news" yellow eyes glittered as he turned his head away and stared up the mountain.

Moonwhisper leapt down from the stump and padded over to Oakpaw. "What do you mean Oakpaw?" she asked. "No one here will leave you alone unless you want it. Were a clan now, and clans stick together." Her green eye studied him. "Just when you think there is no hope, it will come. Hope is funny that way. I know." She sat down beside him and fell silent, inviting him to speak of just stay silent. She just wanted him to know that he wasnt alone.

he snorted and turned his head away, his eyes filled with pain. closing his yellow eyes he said coldly "you might as well return to the mothermouth and let them know that a camp has been found" he opened his eyes and stared at the stump.

Moonwhisper stayed put, her tail twitching. "No," she said simply. "I will give you distance, but you need to get used to having someone to trust. You know Shadowpaw cares for you."

oakpup flicked his ears "yeah, and i care for him but soon hes going to fall in love" the angry pup spat out the word before turning and sliding down the slope back to the mothermouth. his ears pinned to his head, yellow eyes glittering with hatered.

Moonwhisper followed him. "Why do you need love? And just because he is going to fall in love, which may or may not happen, why would that harm your friendship?" She tilted her head, confused.

"because then he will spend all of his time with her, and will take her side in things" oakpups ears flattened "ill become third wheel and not wanted" he gave a low growl and ran off towards mothermouth just wanting to be left alone. bitter hatered welling up in his heart

Moonwhisper growled and started after him. Why couldnt he see that Shadow would never abandon him? She shook her head. Sometimes apprentices could be so frustrating.

padding into the camp oakpup grinned and sat down wagging his tail, he watied for his brother and best friend shadowpup to catch up. yellow eyes twinkling with a mischevious light, he wondered what caves would be named what then shrugged, moonwisper or Direblood would probbaly decide later. it was so exciting he bounced up and down a little.

flicking her ears ripplepaw padded into the camp, she winced her pads sore and bleeding. padding over to the entrance of the cave she sat down staring into it with her perircing baby blue eyes. flicking her black tipped tail she lay down and closed her eyes feeling a little sleepy. her ears swivled around a little.

Isenpaw padded in with a smile. Her eyes casting glances around her new home. It was so much for her to take in. She liked this new clan.

Shadowpaw padded into camp and sat next to his brother. A smile lit his face at his best friends site. He seemed to be doing a bit better then earlier. So he was going to not bring up the topic. "How are you Oakpup? I'm betting we'll be apprentices soon! I mean, one of our conditions is when Direblood becomes Direstar, we're going to be made apprentices."

Ripplepaw was busily licking her bleeding pads, her black backed ears back a little. her baby blue eyes were slightly dreamy as her pink tongue cleaned out her pads. finishing her pads she stood up and shook out her thick white coat. perking her ears she scented the air smiling as all kinds of new smells wafted up her black nose. crouching she began stalking a woodpigeon that was perching on the tree stump. quietly moving the apprentice made her way over to the pigeon then with a rapid strike she leapt up and killed it with a sure bite to the neck. leaping off the stump she glanced around and noticed a good spot and placed the fresh kill there. she smiled, the fresh kill pile was started! padding over to some flat stones she lay down on them enjoying the warmth that came from them.

Oakpup nodded his face becoming stormy again "but he made snakepup a apprentice before he was even made a leader!" his yellow eyes glittered with jealousy. the pup really was evil at heart it would seem to other wolves. flicking his brown tail he growled lowly to himself "and he probbaly wont give us very good mentors" his eyes sparked angrily.

Moonwhisper padded back to the cave and drooped instantly. It looked like the rest of the clan was already there. Turning away, she headed back down the slope. If Oak wanted to show them the camp, let him. She decided to go see how Direblood was doing at the mothermouth. If he hadn already gone in yet.

Shadowpaw looked at his brother. "Ah, but he can't make Snakepaw an apprentice officially. Only Starclan can do that, he needed a medicine cat to go with him to Moonstone." Shadowpaw pointed out, he licked his best friends, his brothers ear.

seeing the sense of this oakpup nodded and sighed his eyes glittering "he had better make us apprentices as soon as he returns from the moonstone or i swear i will kill something" his yellow eyes were filled iwth hatered and malice. he was a storm of a pup.

Ripplepaw perked her ears as she heard oakpup talk about killing. shivering a little she hoped to starclan that she wouldnt be made a warrior and given oakpup as an apprentice. glancing around she noticed nightfrost and stood. padding over to nightfrost she dipped her head to the warrior and asked in a quiet voice "did you find a water source or anything nightfrost when you went searching for territory?" she asked not for herself but for stoatpaw. blinking her baby blue eyes the white furred apprentice twitched her black backed ears and waited for the grumpy warriors reply.

Nightfrost blinked in surprise as the former Riverclan apprentice approached her. Well, former Stormclan apprentice. "Yes." She dipped her head. This wolf deserved her respect, because Ripplepaw respected her. "I found a crystal clear river with herbs growing along its banks, a perfect place to fish during new-leaf." The warrior flicked her ears tiredly. "Although you may not like fishing. This Clan has much potential. We have wolves who are swift, wolves who can move with no sound through undergrowth, wolves who can hunt at night, and wolves who can fish. All we need now is to adapt to the mountains." Her lip curled. "Wich better be soon. My paws can't stand it much longer." A thought brought it's self up into Nightfrosts mind. "I suppose you two will be warriors soon," she said, flicking her tail towards Stoatpaw. And for good mesure she added, "We might have more than one litter of pups around here." Turning away she padded into the cave, selecting her own little dip in the rock in the warriors cave. "This place is full with lovebirds," she muttered darkly. "I wonder how Direblood and Moonwhisper will cope. They must know that if Moon is the deputy she can't be with him."

Ripplepaw stood there in shock as nightfrost padded away, what did she mean two litters of pups? shrugging the apprentice turned and bounded over towards stoatpaw a twinkle in her baby blue eyes. she said in a hurry "stoatpaw! Nightfrost has found a river do you want to go to it with me? i thought that since you might miss the water that we could go together" she smiled shyly.

bouncing out of the nursery the one moon old pup stared around with dark blue eyes, blinking in the dim light of the cave she padded out and winced as the bright moonlight hit her fully in the eyes. shaking out her fluffy cream fur she stared around, her eyesight a little blurry as she had never tried to see around this much before. the moon light reflected off the pale white rocks that could be used for sunning onesself and the tree stump was dark and hidden in the shadows. noticing a hare on the fresh kill pile she bounced over to it and growled at it she pounced on its tail and began worrying at it with her tiny needle sharp teeth.
