Sandy slope

the sandy hollow is a sandy patch of earth in the clans territory, plenty of insects hang around here attracting birds and other animals that the wolves can hunt, its also a good place to practise your fighting skills, becareful though! some ants dont like their ant hills being destroyed!

Stoatpaw walked into the sand covered hollow, looking around. It seemed like a good place for wolves to train in; that was what he was looking for. A bird flew nearby, and Stoatpaw glanced up; there was prey here too. "I wonder what Ripplepaw will think of this place, I think it could be good for the territory of our Clan." He thought out loud, waiting for Ripplepaw to come here.

Stoatpaw looked at Ripplepaw as she came over, letting out a yawn; he was tired from walking all the way from Fourtrees to the Highstones, and then to here. As she mentioned the new StormClan, he nodded. "You're right about that, Shadestar wasn't the nicest wolf when we went to his Clan." The tan-orange furred apprentice said. Stoatpaw glanced at Ripplepaw once more as the wind blew by him, bringing the slight scent of blood. "Are you alright Ripplepaw?" He asked, though couldn't see if she were bleeding or wasn't.

Stoatpaw nodded, seeing how the river would lead to stronger pawpads; though his paws hurt, he hadn't injured them walking here, as he enjoyed swimming. The apprentice let out a yelp of surprise as Ripplepaw leaped at him and pinned him down; he hadn't been paying attention. Letting out a pretend growl, Stoatpaw gently pulled at Ripplepaw's ear. Even though he wasn't a pup, he still liked playfighting; he enjoyed learning battle moves when he was trained. "This sandy hollow is a nice place for SunClan, I think." He said after some time, wondering if Ripplepaw would agree with his sentence.

Stoatpaw shook out his orange-tan fur, sitting up and smiling back at Ripplepaw. "Thanks, I think this would be a good place for apprentices to train, maybe, or for warriors needing battle practice. It could also be used as a place to hunt." Stoatpaw added; if only there were a stream nearby with fish, however. "I'm fine with either way; we should just get back before sun-fall though." The orange apprentice said, looking up at the sky; there would be enough time to get back even if they waited a bit longer before going back to the rest of the wolves.

Stoatpaw ran after Ripplepaw as fast as he could, though he wasn't a fast runner so it would probably be some time before he arrived near the other wolves of SunClan. The orange apprentice's thick fur, though not very long, kept him from getting cold from the leaf-fall wind. Moving also helped him from getting cold; he wondered when it might snow. Stoatpaw hadn't seen snow before, and wondered what it would look like; deciding he should pay more attention on where he was putting his paws, Stoatpaw pushed his thoughts of leafbare away and sprinted after his friend.

~Highstones~

Stoatblaze trotted over to the slope, stopping at its edges. He remembered discovering this place with Ripplestone when they had just been apprentices. He smiled, remembering how they had then gone back to report the place to Direstar. Looking around, he noticed his apprentice preparing to hunt something; a boar, just like she had when training. Dragonpaw had practice hunting boars before, so he wondered if she would do better this time. He could also smell a faint pheasant; one of the first prey Dragonpaw had hunted when they were training. His dark blue eyes watched his apprentice as he looked at her hunting the boar.

Stoatblaze watched as Dragonpaw had leaped for the boar, landing on it. His apprentice had growled as she bit the boar. The apprentice had held on, and Stoatblaze was prepared to help if needed. He knew his apprentice might not need help, but he didn't want to be unprepared if so. The warrior wondered if the boar would be angry, which it probably was, and if it would charge or something as such.

Stoatblaze watched as the boar seemed to yelp as it tried to throw Dragonpaw off. His apprentice went flying before landing on her paws. She had ran at the boar and held onto its nose, it squealing and trying to throw the apprentice off. The warrior watched his apprentice, sneezing slightly as some snow landed on his nose, and he shook his head to get the snow off his pelt.

The tan warrior watched his appentice hold onto the boar's neck, biting it. The boar wouldn't be there very much longer, he supposed. The wolf stood up on his paws, looking at Dragonpaw. Stoatblaze waited for his apprentice to catch the boar. They could place it somewhere until Dragonpaw was done with hunting.

Stoatblaze nodded as Dragonpaw had caught her first prey during her hunting assessment. Dragonpaw had placed the boar in the snow, hiding it from anything that would want to eat it. Stoatblaze scented at the air to see what he could find nearby. He wondered what his apprentice would try catching next, and how Shadowstorm, Direstar, and Streakpaw were doing during with the other hunting assessment. SunClan was growing with new warriors, of which he was proud to call Dragonpaw one of them.

Stoatblaze watched as Dragonpaw had gone back to camp. The apprentice had brought the boar back as well. The orange wolf glanced around before trotting after his apprentice. He was proud she would be a warrior soon, although he had liked being able to mentor an apprentice. The wolf was still proud of Dragonpaw, though; she had been easy to mentor and learned well, and he hoped all other apprentices would do the same.
