Stunted Forest

the stunted forest is a swampy forest on the far side of the gorge from the sunclan camp, hard to reach it pays off with plenty of prey such as deer, goats and the odd elk or moose. a wolf should be careful traversing this land as you can sink into the land rather easily. frogs are found here often and late at night they croak loudly. the trees here are short and twisted, generally at night a thick mist will prevail through the area as well.

Stoatblaze walked over into the stunted forest, looking around. He hadn't been here before; and the marshy ground despite the snow reminded him of ShadowClan territory from the time he had been there. He wondered what ThunderClan territory looked like; Streakfire had said that this forest reminded her of her first Clan. Stoatblaze hadn't been to ThunderClan before, though he decided that didn't matter. Scenting at the air for any prey, he looked around to see if Streakfire was here yet.

The wolf glanced at Streakfire as he noticed her collecting herbs. Going over to where she was, Stoatblaze looked around. He didn't know much about herbs; besides the time when he had to stay in the Medicine Wolves' Den in RiverClan camp. "Do you need some cobwebs?" He asked, softly taking some off a tree with his paw, trying not to ruin the spider web.

The orange wolf nodded as the other SunClan warrior explained why she was looking for herbs. Stoatblaze nodded once more as she had thanked him. "Would you like to continue looking for herbs, or would you rather hunt?" He asked, looking back at Streakfire. He didn't mind either way; it had been interesting to look for herbs.

Stoatblaze nodded, scenting at the air. It was important for the Clan to be fed. He couldn't scent much other than what seemed to be frogs; he wouldn't want to eat one of those, however, so he decided to hunt for something else for the Clan. His orange-tan fur somewhat showed out against the snow, so Stoatblaze tried to stay nearby the trees while looking for something to catch for SunClan.

Stoatblaze glanced at Streakfire as he heard her mention an elk. He nodded, not wanting to speak as to not scare the elk, his blue eyes glancing around to see if the elk was near. He hadn't hunted an elk before; only deer, when he had been training with his mentor. The warrior crouched down, making sure they were downwind of what they wanted to catch, and glanced back at Streakfire for her to begin the hunt.

Stoatblaze moved over towards the elk, quietly placing his paws on the snow in front of him. Seeing Streakfire give the signal to hunt the elk, Stoatblaze crouched down further, walking towards some trees as he looked at the elk. As quickly as he could, he sprang out at the elk, letting out a snarl as a signal for Streakfire to come help. Elk were hard to catch; without several wolves, usually only really young or old elk could be caught with a few wolves helping to catch it.

Stoatblaze leaped at the elk, biting at its neck. It shook its head, sending him stumbling back. He got back up to his paws, running back towards the elk. Streakfire had ran ahead; Stoatblaze was slow at running, so he tried to run towards where he thought the elk would be rather than where it was.

The tan orange wolf looked in Streakfire's and the elk's direction as he heard a growl. Turning quickly to the side, as the elk had been running towards his direction as it turned, he leaped at its shoulders. Trying to hold on, Stoatblaze bit at the elk. He hoped that the weight of two wolves would be enough for it to slow down or loose its balance.

Stoatblaze growled through the elk's fur, biting down as well. He thought that with both wolves biting it, the elk would fall. He tried not to fall off as he held on. Elk wasn't easy to hunt, he realized; but it was more fun than hunting hares or voles.

The tan warrior proudly looked at the elk as they had caught the prey, Stoatblaze's ears twitching as he heard the other SunClanner speak. "We can carry it back, dragging it on the ground." He suggested, looking at the size of the elk. He didn't think it would be too hard to bring back; he was a rather large and strong warrior, with Streakfire helping they should both be able to bring it back. "SunClan will have prey for sunrises, if the pups are eating meat I think they'd like that they don't have to go hungry." He added, looking at the elk and then at the other warrior to see what she thought of bringing the elk back to the camp clearing.

Streakfire smiled. "I'd think we should drag it back. It would keep our strengths up and wouldn't do much damage to the elk." She said. She swished her tail back and forth repeatedly.

The tan warrior nodded. He grabbed onto the elk at its scruff, twitching his tail for the other warrior to help him. Stoatblaze couldn't really speak while he was trying to move the elk, so he hoped Streakfire would understand what he meant. The wolf tried moving the elk back while still grabbing at its scruff, seeing how strong it would be.
