The boundary between ThunderClan and WindClan

Wind's ear flicked, the only sign he was interested in the situation. He smiled slightly and nodded at the wind clan leader and others. "We won't cross the border, we know the rules." he said calmly, normal tone, normal voice. He saw to threat in the windclan wolves, well, unless they chose to cross border. Then, it would be a different story. "I trust windclan is good then?" he ask in his calm deep voice. "was nice meeting you." he said then turned back to his clan.

Heatherstar thought for a moment about Firestar's question, but didn't hesitate long enough for anyone to notice. "It's good to hear that ThunderClan is ok. WindClan is doing fine, however we are currently in mourning over the death of our Medicine Wolf, Shadewhisper." She kept her explanation short and simple as she did not wish to share any details with the other Clans. She was on a tactical alert. Looking at a male warrior as he spoke she dipped her head in greeting, staying silent as she did not know his name. Turning her gaze back onto Firestar she continued briefly. "He was a good wolf, and will be missed dearly."

Duskfang bounded along the border, his size making it easy for him to cover the distance in a couple of bounds. As he approached he saw Heatherstar, Jadepaw and Snowflower confronting a patrol of ThunderClan wolves containing the ThunderClan leader, Firestar. Increasing his pace the large male came to a halt next to Heatherstar, brushing against Snowflower's pelt as he past in an unspoken greeting. Looking down at Firestar and gave a quick, curt nod. "Greetings, Firestar." He said, his deep voice rumbling as he spoke. "I trust everything is alright here?" As he spoke his gaze flickered to Heatherstar standing beside him.

Snowflower was going to nuzzle Duskfang when she paused for a moment. "Hello Wind."she said. The fae did not know he had been given the new name of Windstorm yet.

Duskfang watched as Snowflower made a gesture to nuzzle him before stopping. What had stopped her? He wondered. Following her gaze he stared at the ThunderClan warrior with a look of weary curiosity. 'Hey wind', he had heard Snowflower say and he snorted pointedly, flicking his tail.

Snowflower then happily nuzzled Duskfang. Heatherstar was talking about Shadewhisper's death. She flattened her ears and frowned. She didn't want the topic to be brought up. Not in front of her. She sighed and bared with it, not letting a single tear show.

Jadpaw shuffled her paws awkwardly and coughed a little. Her spirits lifted a little seeing her mentor enter the area and she flicked her tail in a silent greeting to him. "Nothing's really happening..." she whispered to him as she came to stand up next to the massive wolf. She remembered being scared of him as a pup, but it was different for wolves who knew him.

Duskfang placed his tail sympathetically on Snowflower's back as he noticed her discomfort at the mention on Shadewhisper's death. He knew that Heatherstar would prefer not to speak abpit the subject to any great extent either, and was confident that she would not press the subject. Still eyeing up the ThunderClan group carefully he wondered if any more were on their way. He also wondered why they had come to the border to hunt and not stayed further within their territory. It was always possible that Firestar had been lying about everything being alright in ThunderClan, and at this thought, more suspicious questions wriggled into his mind. Hearing Jadepaw's comment he nodded slightly.

Runningpaw ran to catch up with the other warriors. He stopped and growled when he saw a few Windclan wolves talking to Firestar. "They better not cross that border!" He took a few steps closer to stand beside his mentor.

Adderpaw padded behind the others. She didn't go into the 'group' because of the other clan. She stopped and looked for prey. She easily swatted a mouse to a tree and placed it on the ground. She warily looked at the WindClanners. She did not know how the other wolves would react because there was a DOG in ThunderClan.

Wind said, "i'm sorry to hear abouit your death." to Snowflower then smiled slightly, ""And I'm Windstom now, though I still prefer Wind." Looking to Runningpaw, he flicked an ear, "Easy there, we're just talking." He glanced up at Adder, "Why don't you go hunt further west from here? We'll find you later." he said, noticing she was uneasy to the other wolves He didn't want to show weakness to any clan, even though he thought wind clan wolves were actually a decent clan. Turning back to snowflower, he said, "We will all morn with you. It's always sad when a medicine wolf dies. But atleast he'd be happy in starclan." he said to her softly.

Adder nodded softly. She just walked west. She sat down with a humph in a bush. Her ears flattened and she layed down. Nowolf seemed to like her. She was depressed for a time. She just got up and began hunting.

Wind likes Adder well enough

Wind watched Adder go. He know how it felt like to be outcast. He hoped she didn't mind him asking her to go like that. That was the best he could do in protecting both his clan and the husky. He knew Firestar's the leader and he was just her mate, but he was still unused to following orders. He had always been a free spirit, doing as he saw fit, but he wasn't sure if he could ever change that. It was just who he was.

Jadepaw glared at the apprentice as he assumed wrongly. Too quick to judge..., she thought bitterly yet stayed silent. The death of Shadewhisper still weighed down her heart in mourning and she didn't feel like she wanted to talk. She was in a bad mood but did good not to show it. The other clans might think she was hiding something and think the clan was weak. Think again!, she growled silently but twitched the tip of her tail. She needed to calm down, so started to lick the fur on her shoulder turning her gaze pointedly away from the Thunderclan wolves.

Heatherstar cocked her head sideways slightly as some new canids joined the group. The corners of her mouth twitched slightly in the beginnings of a smile as she heard the apprentice of whom had been addressed as Runningpaw threaten them. She remembered how she herself as an apprentice had been like that, however she had often come to this particular border for a very different reason. Shaking her head she rid herself of the now unwelcome memory. Looking back up and directly at Runningpaw she greeted him, "Hello Runningpaw, how are you?" Her usual friendly smile appeared on her muzzle as her light blue gaze rested on the apprentice, however it flickered as her gaze drifted to another canine further back in the group. Was that a dog? Her pupils narrowed again, however this time through pure inquisitiveness. She watched this 'Adder' character as Windstorm sent her away and her ears twitched as she looked back to the main group. She made no comment.

Wind watched the wind clan wolves silently, he was not much of a talker. he saw the curious glance the leader shoot at Adderpar. He waited, his body relaxed, ready to move or leap in any direction. If the wind clan thought thunderclan was weak, they should think better. His strong frame was still as he gave the leader and the other windclan wolves with a level gaze. It was unreadable, it could be a silent challenge, but there was also some leeway in it to. his gaze said, "It's entirely your call."

Jadepaw huffed. This wasn't going anywhere. "Well, it was nice meeting you. If you're just hunting I don't see any reason why we should stay." Jade stated and lashed her tail. Turning around, she padded back up through the moor towards camp not waiting to see if the others would follow. There was no need for an apprentice to be there. If they wanted a staring competition they could stare at an owl for all she cared not at a group of Windclan wolves.

-WC Camp-

Wind nodded silently,secretly agreeing with the wind clan wolf. He just didn't see a reason for this hostility. He looked at Firestar, his mate and leader. "Nothing's going to happen here soon. I'm hunting to the east. Join me?" he asked, licking her ear gently. Then he turned and to the windclan wolves, "Nice meeting all of you. Run swift with the wind." he said in a calm friendly mannor and loped east. He was hungry and he wanted to answer to that call of he hunt as soon as he could.

Adderpaw smiled as a rabbit scurried across her feet. She bit it. She heard the satisfying scream of it's final words. She picked it up to put it in her pile.

Duskfang noticed Snowflower and Jadepaw leave for camp. Casting one last weary glance at the patrol he began to pad after them. He didn't like the idea of leaving the ThunderCan group to hunt near the border; what if some prey crossed into WindClan territory and they followed it? They would be stealing WindClan prey! But there was not a lot he could do to prevent that. He trusted that Firestar would have the sense to control her warriors, and if he came back later and found ThunderClan scents on the WindClan side of the border, there would be trouble.

-Camp-

On second thought, he rather go check on Adder. Swiftly, he loped west. As he apporached he, he called, "You ok there Adder?"

Adder frowned then looked up. "Yeah-I'm OK..." she said, not very amused. She just wanted to be normal. But, she couldn't. Because she was a dog and not a wolf.

Wind looked at her, his head cocked slightly to the side, "You want to belong don't you?" he said quietly, 'Don't worry, Firestar's not like that. She'd accept you. She already made you a apprentice." " he nudged her flank softly, "Buck up."

Adder looked up. "I don't belong, that's the problem. I'm a dog, and ThunderClan are wolves," she said. She flicked her tail back and forth.

Wind looked at her, his ears twitching, "Come on, let's hunt." he smiled, "If you can hunt, it doesn't matter if you aare wolf or dog."
