Okami and Amber Training

Amberpaw padded up to her mentor and friend excitingly. She had recovered fully and Amberpaw was excited to have her friend as her mentor. "Can we work on hunting first?" She asked, her eyes trying to focus on her mentor. She hoped that Okami had an awesome lesson for them.

Amberpaw took a deep breathe, inhaling the scents of the moors around them. "There is a scent of a rabbit warren nearby." She said, she knew that Okami had gone through hard times lately and she was always here for her, that's what best friends were for after all. She was nervous, she scented a few mice too. "I think there are a few mice nearby as well."

Amberpaw smiled, so many choices to choose from, but she thought it might be best to start small. "Can we start on the smaller prey, like the mice." She asked, she didn't want to overwork herself. No, if she knew how to hunt the smaller prey, the more prepared she was for the larger prey.

Amberpaw nodded at her mentor, Okami obviously knew what she was doing in this case. She crouched down to practice the moves, her tail straight out, she was so concentrated on that that her steps were not light and she hit every leave in sight. She ended up falling over and she gave a small chuckle. Then she went back to focusing. She avoided all the leaves as she kept her tail straight and she stalked a mouse. It heard the vibrations though. She sighed as the mouse ran. "I don't understand!" She said frustratingly.

Amberpaw smiled at her friend. She nodded and she felt nothing as Okami went forwards towards her. She grinned when she told her what she did wrong and she told her to find more mice. She lifted her muzzle, scenting the air around her for more prey. There were more mice, so she went for a stalk. She made sure her pawsteps were light, her tail she kept straight and her fur did not touch a single leap. Towards the end, she raced it and pounced. She killed it with a swift bite to the neck. She carried it over to her mentor with pride. "I DID IT!" She said happily.

Amberpaw was ready for whatever her mentor threw at her. She had the passion and the willpower to do this and so she would. She narrowed her eyes at the rabbit warren she had scented earlier. There was a smile on her face. "Let's hunt the rabbits!" She whispered in an excited voice. She saw one rabbit through the snow, though it was hard because the rabbit was white. She knew that the thaw was soon upon them.

Amberpaw nodded enthusiastically as Okami suggested that she was the chaser. She prepared herself to run. She wondered if she would be good at this and her eyes lit up with excitement. She wanted to know what she could catch herself.

Amberpaw lifted her nose, scenting around for rabbits. The thick scent rushed into her nose and her eyes were calm. She went slowly and silently towards the two rabbits and she chased them towards Okamiamaterasu. She was now completely focused on her training with her best friend.

Amberpaw grinned and remembered the warrior code. She wasn't suppose to eat until the warriors and everyone had been fed. She felt like she hadn't done enough to deserve it so she politely declined the offer. "I'm not that hungry, Okamiamaterasu." She told her mentor and her best friend. She wondered if her friend had anything on her mind.

She nodded and berried the rabbit near her mentor. She started to walk around, taking in deep scents of the air. Her eyes focused around her. What is that? She wondered at the scent of horse across the horizon. she ran back to her mentor, also picking up a scent of mice too. "I scent something I've never smelled before, reminds me of the farm, and also 2 mice; I can hunt those before we find out what that scent is if you want." She reported back to her friend.

Amberpaw grinned as Okamiamaterasu said that they would hunt down the large creatures. Was she ready for such the extremities of this measure or would she fail and disgrace her mentor? She hoped she would pull this off and that she would be a good fighter. Even if she didn't like the causes behind fighting.

She gulped once and stalked her way towards the scent. Her eyes focused, her friend had confidence in her and she would not betray that. She saw the huge creature and did not hesitate. She leapt at the creature and aimed for it's back, avoiding it's paws narrowly.
