Post-Apocalyptic Canine RP

Year 3084. The humans managed to wipe themselves out through their own complete disregard and carelessness of nature. They wiped each other out, the human race is now extinct except for small bands of survivors who seem cannibalistic and zombie-like. They eat anything they can get their hands on, it seems. All the other nature is slowly dying out as well. This story is set in the dilapidated city of New York. The buildings seem to be only skeletons of what they once were, and undrinkable water is on every corner. It's hard to find anything to eat- nevermind drink- and canines seem to rule this place now. Some have advanced to survive- survival of the fittest and natural selection, I'd say. Some will be left behind in the dust. Personalities are unpredictable- one second you might be best buddies with your friendly wolf neighbor, and the next second he's betrayed you and is gnawing on your leg. There's only one goal here now: survive as long as you can.

Because of how bad the pollution got, the occasional mutant may pass through and have grown and extra leg, eye, or even a head. Maybe they're a zombie now or have huge fangs that don't seem to stay in their mouths. Whatever the case, we're all in it together now.

Name: mint
Type of canine: dire/spirit
Age: died at age 4 years
Gender: femme
Physical description: a white soft creamy femme that stands at 5 feet and is still is estmated to grow another foot. Then weighs about 160 lbs to 190. She has streaks of brown on her nape that drapes to her knees. Her tail is long and fluffy. Her ears are a soft brown with white dots. Her teeth are 1 1/2 inches long and her claws are 2 inches. Her under belly is swirled with a creamy vanilla with flecks of soft brown. She has a large strong build with thick muscled legs. Her eyes are a spearmint green.
Personality: she is a alert femme that is good with watching the area. It is not hard to flip her switch, she is furious once she is turned on. Very entergetic and alive with power. Very soft on the outside. She lives every minute as if its her last. Mint is quiet but loves some company.
History: millions of years ago she was frozen in time. Her kind wiped out she watched helplessly inside her chilling cell. One day she too left her soul inside the ice. When the world burnt in fire from wars and pollution left uncontrolled. The ice melted and she moved on to fend for herself as a spirit.

Name: Riley
Type of Canine: Border Collie/Bernise Mountain Dog mix
Age: 4 years
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Riley is a medium built dog, with slightly long, tangled fur and rather short, yet fast legs. Although he lacks nutrition and is skinny from his life on the street, he's well built and sturdy, and a good fighter.
Personality: From head to toe, Riley was made for the street life. His's personality is witty and sarcastic. He considers himself a master of the stray world, and often flaunts his conceided behaviour. He also has a very short temper and doesn't hesitate to defend, verbally or physically, himself whenever he feels it necessary. Besides this side of him, Riley is a bit of a joker, and a lot of a flirter. He loves having fun, and has a lot of energy that he likes to exert by running.
History: Riley's history is short and not so sweet. He was born in a normal home, or so it appeared to be. Though as soon as his 'owner's' felt the litter was old enough, he and his siblings were dropped off behind a dumpster and left by themselves, their mother having been taken to a different, unknown location. Riley was then left to fend for himself, and not being very old, proved difficult for the young pup. Though he managed to just scrape by and avoid the clutches of death, and eventually grew into adulthood. Along the way he had perfected all the techniques needed to live on the streets, and became somewhat of a master for this style of living.

Name: Arya
Type of Canine: Dog- Samoyed
Age: 3 years
Gender: Female
Physical Description: White with a fluffy tail. She isn't as fluffy as her others of the Samoyed breed. She has beautiful brown eyes and a purple collar with a tag that describes her previous owners. She is a large dog, with big paws and a large head. Her nose is pink as well as the insides of her ears, which stand up straight and tall.
Personality: She is cautious of those she first meets, and it takes a long time to gain her trust. In the case of the apocalypse, she tentatively travels with others but would never put her life in their hands unless she trusted them completely. She is kind and will never say a bad word about someone, and is scared of loud noises and cowers away from arguments. Arya is optimistic and prefers to think that everything will go perfectly fine and everyone will live on, even when it's obvious that is not the case. Unless she truly cared about you, she would work to save her own life and not sacrifice hers for yours. She is terrible/scared of making decisions and is a follower and not a leader. Many are not bigger than her, but if you are you instantly gain her respect.
History: Arya lived in a house in New York, towards the outskirts of the city and not in an apartment. Her owners took care of her since she was a puppy, loved her and paid attention to her and brought her to the park everyday. When suddenly they disappeared, she was left alone and cold. Deciding to go look for them, she went out of the house through the doggy door and travelled to the park, the only place she had really ever known. This is where she will be when her story starts.

Arya tentatively walked towards the park from the direction of her house. It was a journey she had memorized ever since she was a puppy. There were so many good memories from here, so many dogs she had met and friends she had made. This time, the reason she was going here wasn't the happiest. The female Samoyed didn't know much about what was going on, and was quite confused. The houses on the outskirts seemed more abandoned than anything else- no sign of trauma or attacks at all. Once she got to the heart of the city, however, it was a different story. Buildings had fallen or were in the process of doing so. The clouds were dark and not even a little bit of sun could push through the thick smog. Puddles of dangerous looking water were on every streetcorner, and though Arya was thirsty from her walk she did not dare drink from them. The small brick wall surrounding the park was broken and completely gone in some places, the bricks falling onto the side walk in a mess. Everything was silent, the usual hustle and bustle was completely gone. What had happened?

Her intelligent brown eyes saw an entrance she could fit through in the wall and she clambered through. Her large white paws walked herself over to a dead tree and she sat down underneath its naked branches, looking around. She didn't know what to do. Where was everyone? Was she the last... one? No, it couldn't be true! Perhaps everyone went on a vacation all at once or this was just some kind of dream. Yeah, that's it! It's definitely a dream.

Physical Description: Tall, slightly chubby, strong but not too fast.
Personality: Loving, stupid, random, loves attention and does the weirdest of things.
History: his parents both got killed by falling meteors from absolutely nowhere, so he just went and lived alone.

Name: Kadri
Type of Canine: Maned Wolf
Age: 2 years
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Like many maned wolves, Kadri's long, black legs have her tower over many canids, or at least many wild canid species. She is rather thin for her species, as food in a post-apocalyptic city is quite difficult to find, and she is not used to having to find her own food.. Her coat is reddish-brown, with black legs, a black mane, and white on the tip of her tail and underneath her throat, somewhat similar to the coat of a fox.
Personality: Kadri is courageous, and is able to face many dangers without much fear and happy to adventure through the city, whether it be in search of food, water, or simply as something to do. She will rarely form any kind of lasting bond with someone, as she is willing to do what needs to be done to survive and believes that others will slow her down and lower her chance of survival. She's not afraid to betray someone, and she has often stolen food from canids who believed themselves to be her friend. She often gets herself into trouble, usually because of her thieving ways or because of her arrogance.
History: Kadri was born in and lived most of her life in a zoo, and when the apocalypse broke out, she managed to escape into the city and avoid the death that befell nearly all of the other animals. After she had escaped, she was barely able to survive, as she had a very difficult time finding food for herself since she was so used to being fed by humans, not to mention that she kept getting into trouble for stealing. Over time, her survival skills got better and better as she somehow managed to scrape by and learn the ways of the city.

Spud clumsily stomped around the fallen city, his bottom teeth out and slobber dripping from his jowls. He then gave a loud bark which sent slobber flying from his mouth "HELLLUUUUU???!" he called in a weird voice. His teeth were out again and he just stood there slobbering, not hearing a reply, the dog stomped off.

The Samoyed heard small sounds coming from out of the park. She always had good hearing, after all. Her brown eyes strained to see any shapes in the shadows. Arya saw something slip into the park, though it remained on the outer wall and did not come any closer. She couldn't exactly see what it was, but it looked like some kind of canine. It had absurdly tall legs and a rather skinny body. Perhaps it was some kind of fox? Arya watched it warily, keeping her eyes on it at all times. Although this was a dream and you couldn't die in dreams, the white canine still had no death wish. She stood up on all four legs with her ears perked. Her mouth was slightly open with teeth covered and her brown eyes were wide. Standing on tiptoes, she looked for the canine nearby. Her tail was up and slightly wagging. "Hello?" she called out.

The strange animal returned the greeting and stepped out of the shadows, making itself visible. From the tone of voice, Arya could tell the animal wasn't necessarily hostile in response and not aggressive, though perhaps cautious? Its voice was soft and not as outgoing if it had been curious and not simply wary. The Samoyed could see the tall figure looking down at her and studying her, and it made her slightly uncomfortable though not really annoyed. She had never seen such a tall creature before- it seemed like it towered over her with its long legs, though Arya seemed to be much better well fed and so much more fluffy. It had a reddish coat, one that Arya had seen in a different canid which also smelled differently. Her owners had told her it was a fox, and the female Samoyed had alerted her owners to its presence with one of her barks. She didn't bark often, so her owners immediately knew something was off.

But there was something different about this canine. Mostly, the long legs. The reddish coat looked same though, same with the white chest. Although the reaction of the reddish canine was not threatening, Arya was still wary. Her ears went back partially and her eyes narrowed after she examined the animal and she took a couple steps back. The white dog had seen something she never had before and it was making her anxious and uncomfortable. The unknown was one of the scariest things for her. Arya stayed where she was now and did not make any movements. Her brown eyes still looked into the gaze of the stranger. "Do you know what's going on?" she asked. Her tone was not fearful, more like curious. Her thoughts changed to those of her owners and she worried deeply about them. What if they couldn't survive on their own without her and they needed her, and here she was in the park? She had to find them, if it was the last thing she would do.

Riley padded through the rubble that was once the city of New York, sniffing around at the ground and turning over some tiny pieces of scrap from the buildings with his muzzle. This was all that was left of the magnificent NYC; a big pile of crumbled mess, smoking piles of garbage and chunks of concrete laying everywhere. And with the destroyed buildings came the destruction of all that was inside them or around them, therefore making finding food a very difficult to find. Riley was hungrier than usual, and in near desperation had resorted to rummaging through the rubble in order to find even a mere scrap of food or garbage. Anything that was edible would be more than acceptable, though so far he was unlucky in finding even a trace of food, or anything else other than broken concrete.

The humans were nowhere to be seen, therefore begging or finding somebody to bum food off of was out of the question as well. Riley wondered if they had either fled the city or had been killed off by the falling buildings and other toppling objects. Continuing to venture through the mess, poking his nose here and there, he searched for any signs of life. He had only been lucky enough to have been caught between two pieces of the fallen rubble, creating a tent-like structure that had protected him from being crushed to death. He had stayed in this canopy of rubble for as long as he felt necessary, and was now driven by hunger to go outside.

Spud continued to stomp about, he heard voices nearby, and his ears went upright and he blinked his brown eyes. He ran toward the sounds clumsily and slowly, his jowls flapping randomly, slobber flying off them too. He walked toward some dogs and he gave a weird, toothy grin "HAI GUUISE" he said, his voice was weird. drool dripped off his chin.

Arya's eyes went wide at the mention of death. Almost everyone died? How could that have happened in such a short space of time? What event occurred? The white canine's thoughts went back to her owners, and she felt her heart plummet. Everyone had died... Did that mean her owners had too? There was no way, they had to be alive! When they went on camping trips, her owners always knew what to do and what plants they could eat and how to fish and how to do everything! They were so resourceful, there was no way they would just lay down and die. She felt hope stir in her stomach. The other canine was wrong. That was the only thing that could be true. Suddenly a dog burst into the park, slobber falling out of its mouth and clumsily approaching them. Arya stepped further backwards, her tail underneath, whining. This wolf spoke in a weird voice and just came closer, not knowing when to stop. Did it have rabies or something? She met a wolf like that once, and it acted like this one had. Her ears on the back of her head, she looked for an opening out of the park and sprinted out of it, squeezing through the hole and running through the streets. As she ran, the Samoyed saw another canine figure. It was multi-colored and appeared to be scavenging. Stopping quickly, her claws scraped on the ground as she tried to prevent herself from tumbling and falling into the dog in front of her as she ran from the beast behind.

In his rummaging through the rubble in search for food, Riley's wandering eyes were met with another animal standing nearby, its eyes and now meeting his gaze. Stopping his foraging, Riley stood up straight and assume a stiff posture, not knowing whether this fellow canine was one to trust. Its pelt was all white and rather long, and it was currently trying to keep itself steady on the uneven ground. Pointing his ears forward, Riley barked a greeting, though it wasn't exactly friendly. "Who are you?" he boomed, not moving a muscle as he stared ahead at the other dog, waiting for a reply that would hopefully answer his inquiry.

The dogue de bordeaux tilted his head seeing one of the dogs run away. He gave a tooth grin "Are we playing tag?? HERE AH COMEE" he shouted joyfully, running slowly and clumsily in the samoyed's direction.

The female dog managed to stop short in front of the smaller, male one (according to his booming voice). She cowered away from him and his seeming anger. Why did it seem like when she ran away from something else, she literally sprinted straight into another situation? She was about to reply with only her name when she whipped around and saw the rabid dog goofily chasing after her. If it wasn't her he was running for, the situation could seem almost comical. But she was afraid now- she didn't know where she was, where her owners were, and has now only met a tall female canine, a rabid dog, and someone else she made angry by simply almost running into him. She stepped backwards, away from the brown dog as well as the multi-color furred male dog. Her eyes were wide and her tail was still between her legs with her ears pulled back and her belly on the ground. How was she going to get out of this one?

Spud tilted his head and whimpered "Aww, you dont want to play? what if ah let you win?" he asked, rolling onto his back and wagging his tail, with a smile.

Name: Rayen (Lets see if you recognize her Addy)
Type of Canine: German Shepherd
Age: 3
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Very large, standing around 4 feet at the shoulder one can tell how this female mutated, the ends of ivory teeth poke out just bellow her lips. Nothing to seriously noticeable (She doesn't look like a saber-toothed dog) and many generally do not see her fang until she snarls. Like Apache Rayen has a thicker layer of fur around her neck and chest, this aids her in fights and winter, but can be her downfall in hot weather. Rayen is still growing, and she will never stop growing it seems. But because of this her body needs nutrients, to do so, if she does not have a steady food supply her rate of growth slows, but it is always there.

Personality:
Rayen is normally the silent type, only speaking when spoken to. This changes when she is around friends, able to talk all night; the normally imposing figure can become quite the comedian. With a great love of theatrics Rayen has created a far scarier image of herself, boosting her fame. Even though she is a dog Rayen admires explosions, getting a sort of mad glee out of it. (Although without the humans explosions are rare to come by.)

Although she can be quite pleasant, Rayen can also be very dark, seeming bloodthirsty, willing to kill over the littlest of reasons. Which for the most part isn't an act, though she does try to avoid killing when unnecessary.(Although she holds no qualms about ripping out one's throat if they get to close.) She is a very cunning animal, she does not take risk without factoring in all the possibilities. If the act would prove unfavorable to her she will most likely choose another course of action, or leave it all together. As stated before she loves theatrics and even in the most serious of time, playing jokes.

One often wonders how she's been able to survive for so long, as she appears not to take things seriously. It is not because she does not take the situation seriously, she above all understands the risks, but to act serious all the time can dampen the one's spirits.(And a saddened spirit is easier to break.) She prefers to show others that she is not fazed by the danger, that even in the darkest time one can find something good. Insults are also something Rayen will use, but she does not sling them around like some annoying punk. Whether it be to invoke an action from an enemy or an ally they always have a purpose. Since her since of humor can be quite strange, even a little dark, Rayen enjoys watching some of the more touchy canine's reactions.

She totally loves pups and won‘t pass up a moment to make a little one smile.Teenagers are another story, she will put up with them but she has a shorter fuze with them then a pup.Although she is harder on the teens then the pups, she is even more demanding of an adult. In her eyes teens are still pups so they're still learning the way of the world. But adult dogs, they have had enough time to figure it out, and so she expects more from them. Although she can be fierce when angry, it takes a while to get on her nerves. She is very patient, never fully loosing control of her emotions. She has not had someone push her buttons so much that she looses full control, she does not let it go that far.

Very aware of her surroundings, Rayen knows the city like the back of her hand. Its rare for someone to be able to sneak up on her without her knowing about it. Rayen is very loyal, she takes the words of others very seriously. So seriously in fact that if one were to break it they would not be alive long enough to regret it. Thus so she will not break her word when given. When creating a contract or deal it is always fare to both sides, giving both of them a way out of the contract if the other fails to uphold their end. Un-trusting toward strangers at first, it takes some time before Rayen will truly let you into her heart.

Rayen sees every one of her friends, as family. And no matter how much she may not always get along with some of them she’ll always have their backs. Rayen was never been treated with much kindness in the past, and so she appreciates it when someone extends such a pleasantry to her. Often returning a small act with a greater reward.

History:
Rayen had been going on two years when the apocalypse happened Rayen had still been growing, and growing, and growing. She had always been a street dog, and this has not changed, now she is a large three year old female who wonders the city as she tries to survive.

Riley raised an eyebrow as rather insane canine came bursting into the scene, taking once step back as he exclaimed a remark about tag. "Tag? I hardly think so," he replied, rather seriously, before shaking his head and refocusing his attention back to the other white canine. It's scent smelled to be female, and her behaviour skittish and almost fearful. Though he didn't drop his forward attitude towards her. "I was looking for a name, you," he barked towards her, seeing that she didn't answer his inquiry the first time.

The sound of voices invaded the dark blanket of sleep that had covered the female Shepherd's subconscious as she slept. Finally the female opened her eyes, fiery orange pupils scanning the park as he ears barely twitched. She remained in a laying position not quite ready to stand, she had been enjoying her nap- the short escape from the world.

But it seemed that who ever had decided to disturb her rest were not inclined to move on any time soon and leave her in peace. Sighing the large German Shepherd heaved herself to her feet and began to amble in the direction of the voices. Making sure to stay out of sight the stray found a bush large enough to conceal her bulk before turning her attention toward the group of canines.

Mint crawled from the the debris and shook her pelt. She blinked at the light and strecthed. She climbed to top of a small burnt building and gave out a dark territorial howl. Making sure she was alone she peered around the corners and sniffed the foul air. It was another hot lonely day. She decided to take a walk on the beach. Her heavy pelt dragged her down and was not ideal for the heat. She was used of the cold breezes in the icey climates. But she was the only one of her kind left. That she knew of. So she wanted to prove herself a legend and dominance of the canines.
