Post-Apocalyptic Canine RP

First topic message reminder :

Year 3084. The humans managed to wipe themselves out through their own complete disregard and carelessness of nature. They wiped each other out, the human race is now extinct except for small bands of survivors who seem cannibalistic and zombie-like. They eat anything they can get their hands on, it seems. All the other nature is slowly dying out as well. This story is set in the dilapidated city of New York. The buildings seem to be only skeletons of what they once were, and undrinkable water is on every corner. It's hard to find anything to eat- nevermind drink- and canines seem to rule this place now. Some have advanced to survive- survival of the fittest and natural selection, I'd say. Some will be left behind in the dust. Personalities are unpredictable- one second you might be best buddies with your friendly wolf neighbor, and the next second he's betrayed you and is gnawing on your leg. There's only one goal here now: survive as long as you can.

Because of how bad the pollution got, the occasional mutant may pass through and have grown and extra leg, eye, or even a head. Maybe they're a zombie now or have huge fangs that don't seem to stay in their mouths. Whatever the case, we're all in it together now.

Riley scowled, about to make a snide comment about Arya repeating her name, but her next sentence stopped him short. He dropped his lip over his teeth, though his eyebrows remained furrowed and his posture stiff. "And what might that something be?" he questioned. He now began to wonder if she knew more about what had happened to the city of New York. He knew she probably wouldn't tell him what she was talking about, not after his attitude towards her, but he pressed to know more information of the catastrophe.

"Greetings Arya," Rayen finally spoke, her calm almost musical voice cutting through the air with a quiet sharpness that demanded attention- it seemed that these dogs were quite determined to ignore her. Approaching the smaller lighter colored female, the Shepherd gave her tail a friendly flick. "I believe that I know what you are searching for." Nodding toward her collar indicating the fact that she was owned. The giatn dog raised an eyebrow at the overly aggressive male, he seemed quite eager to show he was the boss ready to snap at the scared Samoyed. "Do you mind lowering your heckles for a moment sir," she said rather then asked, " Its quite obvious that Arya is not a threat to you or your way of living, she merely is a canine in need of a assistance."

Rayen's voice was neither stern nor hostile, but within there was a quiet confidence that tended to cause animals pause. Like a human had once said, it is always the quiet ones you need to watch out for. And she agreed, many canines went around snarling and howling their strength to the moon, making sure all knew they were unafraid and would take on the world if they had to- or for merely the sake of good entertainment. But the quiet dogs and wolves, the ones that silently watched and observed, that held an air of confidence as subtle as a terminal illness, up until it is to late. Her body language did not show any hostility, nothing but calm and perhaps boredom could be felt wafting off of this stray, but she was ready for a fight. Fiery orange eyes watched all with a look of disinterest, only changing to something resembling kindness when they fell on the lost Arya.

Mint quickly consumed the meat quickly. She then flickered her ears towards the convorsation. But it did not concern her about the topic. It was just another lost and confused canine looking for their owners. She wagged her tail looking at the milky red sky. Mint's gaze casted over the large park looking for shelter.

Name: Leah
Title: The Dark Knight
Type of Canine: Karelian Bear Dog
Age: 9 months
Gender: Female
Physical Description: This Karelian Bear Dog is small and thin. Her mother and father didn't care about her, but did about her younger siblings, Josh and Anne. Her legs are shorter than most Karelians'. She is all black, a rare color in her breed while her siblings was black and white. Her eyes are a light blue and her tail is missing from an abuser who took her in, 3 months until his puppy mill was found. She has a feather that is stuck in her fur and it has stayed there through all battles and spars.
Personality: She is smart about scents, and fast at hunting and races. She is a really shy stray but is looking for friends.
History:
She was born to her parents Bullet and Zelda. They didn't care about her that much and refused to take care of her. She lived on her own and found food on her own. Sadly, she was captured in a snare by a puppy mill runner. He had starved her and cut of her tail because her tail was matted. The puppy mill was found and shut down 3 months later. When the humans tried to help her, she ran away when they opened her cage.

Now the 9 month old puppy is all alone in the city.

The dark female's ear twitched as she felt eyes one her, allowing her unconcerned gazed to roam looking as if she were simply bored and trying to ease it, the German Shepherd searched for the owner of the watchful stare. Unable to spy the stranger Rayen's ears flicked as if giving a 'huh' of curiosity and approval. She would have to be more alert, and she was, but to the others she looked just and calm and uninterested in their little lives as before.

This watcher had been wise enough to stay hidden, the question was why? Were they silently hunting them, or perhaps they were another canine mimicking Rayen's actions of observation she had done before. Determining whether or not to reveal themselves. The gaze did not feel malicious, so the dog determined this other animal was either doing the very same she had been, or merely too scared to approach. Either way she was curious to know who this other dog was, it seemed that perhaps someone else had at shred of sense left. Raising her head the female allowed her voice to carry through the air. "I can feel you watching us stranger, why not join us." She paused before adding, "I promise I don't bite, much." The last word held a tone of humor, and although she had been serious another animal could have taken it as a joke the way she had phrased it. Unconcerned with the ways of others and how they could read things the wrong way Rayen simply waited, curious to see whether this new comer would actually reveal them self to the crowd.

Mint staggered to her feet stretching giving out a yawn and shaking her milky flowing coat. She neared the shepherd and the Maned wolf. She blinked and nodded towards the wolf. Her fur was glowing a milky blue and mint she licked it sleek. Then she cleared her throat and spoke " We are just sticking together to give us a better chance at surviving..." She then trailed of and looked at all of the canines. It was getting late and they all needed somewhere to sleep.

A brow raised as the maned wolf answered her and approached the group, that eye brow turned into two raising even higher then before when the other wolf stated they had all gathered together to survive. Well if that was true then she was a peacock! last she had check she had simply come by because the smaller male was picking on the white female, she had not come here to band together with a group of canines she had never met let alone trusted.

Giving the Dire wolf and 'Oh really? Since when did this suddenly happen?' kind of look before turning back to answer the mane'd wolf's question, "I am not sure the wolf got the memo." She said, casting her another raised eye brow look before continuing, "But last I checked the Samoyed Ayra is searching for something, and is in need of assistance. The gentlemen there was offering his assistance in the nicest of ways, heckles raised and death bared as he expressed the utmost charm toward the lady. Miss wolf here had been hunting and has now decided to join the group, while I simply came here to offer the lost fluffy one some help." She paused, taking a second to look at everyone, catching everyone's eye before going on, "And that should sum everything up, unless I missed something?"

Throughout the whole conversation Rayen's tone had been matter of fact, but if one were to pay attention to her eyes they would have caught a glimmer of amusement before it was swallowed by the usual coat of boredom that seemed to constantly cover them, obscuring the German Shepherd's true feelings and inner soul.

Age: 4
Gender: Male
Physical Description: Cedric has a body made more for running, jumping, and swimming more than a body for physically fighting. His hind legs and stomach muscles are strong and sturdy. The pads of his feet are a soft pink though they are tough at the feel. His fur gets rather long in the winter while it is medium in the summer. His eyes are a soft blue that is like the color of the sky.
Personality: Rp it out~
History: Cedric was born on a farm in a litter of four. He had two brothers and a little sister. As they grew up, they were taught to work on the farm everyday by herding other animals, helping carry supplies or keeping their owners company. Cedric loved his life. He lived for a purpose, he lived to take care of things and others. But then came the apocalypse. Everything around him was destroyed, along with most of his family. He now wanders around, working his way through the ruins.

Cedric walked along the ruin street. His black and white pelt was damp and nearly all black from a pile of garbage he had to dig out of. The stuff was going all the time around these parts. Every morning there was more and more waist. He kept his head and tail down as he continued to walk. There was rally no point in stopping now, the only other way was through the pile again and he did not want to experience whatever had crawled over his stomach again.

Silently, patiently the german Shepherd waited for another to speak her piercing gaze slowly traveling from one canine to the other. Silence could be a dangerous thing, she above all knew that the most threatening animals, the most life endangering experiences often involved silence. But she was not one to break it, preferring to wait it out and see who succumbed to the pressure the quiet seemed to put on them. She had already spoken her mind, answering the maned wolf's question not it was her turn to either reply or walk away.

A female approached the 3 dogs now. She was a german shepherd, and when she spoke it was of confident and supporting words. Arya managed a kind smile towards the female, though she was still slightly shaken at the other dog's aggressive attitude towards her and the amount of 'yelling' involved. She didn't bother to answer the dog's question- he couldn't possibly expect her to now, anyway. The friendly attitude of the shepherd calmed her, and she no longer felt the need to escape, yet she was still wary of the male dog. She noticed the female's eyes flicker to her collar as she said those words, and the white dog nodded very slightly in confirmation. "I don't really know what's going on." She said. "I had just been speaking to some other fox creature when the rabid dog came chasing after me. I'm just looking... for them. They have to still be alive." Her eyes yielded some kind of desperation mixed with hope. She also followed the gaze of the Shepherd, and saw the tall-legged figure from the park she had first visited. "She was the one I had spoken to for a few moments in the park." Arya stated, seeing the creature join them. And then another canine stepped forward, one larger than she had ever seen before. It appeared ancient, tall, and proud (though of course skinny because of current conditions, Arya assumed). She had never seen anything like it. The tall-legged fox asked what was going on, and the german shepherd responded within a moment. Arya had nothing to add, so she remained silent for a moment. "I don't know what's going on. I don't know where everyone is. I don't know how long I'm going to be here. And surely I don't think I'd be comfortable with someone who is clearly disrupted by my presence." Her eyes flickered over to the dog that had confronted her, before back to the confident German Shepherd.

Rayen smiled at Ayra when she spoke, her eyes filled with understanding and sadness. Most likely this dog's humans were dead, and normally she would have said so but she knew that right now she couldn't handle something like that. So she left the words unsaid as she replied, " The city is large, to physically search every nook and cranny would be nearly imposable for one dog even if the conditions were ideal; which they aren't." She said, her voice reaching kindness for the first time ever since she had been here, "As for what is going on, the humans have finally pushed their war too far, and this is the result, many have died, the others have vanished, the rest live a life not even worth living. "

Her eyes became saddened as she watched the white female, she was so hopeful, so determined to find the ones she loved. But what she had just said would obviously not go unnoticed, her humans if still alive would be living a life not even worth it. When Ayra said the maned wolf had been the fox like creature Rayen couldn't help but grin at the reference, she did resemble an extremely long legged fox. Rayen simply nodded when the Samoyed spoke once more, feeling a sense of empathy toward the smaller dog, as well as amusement as she gazed at the Dire wolf, although she was large Rayen was nearly her same size, standing at around four feet she was a monster of a dog; and she was still growing thanks to the odd mutation she had been given thanks to the humans and their warring ways. "If you wish I can accompany you and help you search for, them. I have a keen nose and am certainly large enough to provide some protection if you were to run into some, unsavory characters." She wanted to spare the male a glance, but she did not knowing that it could easily cause a fight with a dog so high strung as he.

The warm breeze hit the young female like a baseball bat as she come out of her hole that she was hiding in. There was not alot of activity. She wagged her stub of a tail as she heard other dogs and some wolves also maybe. She looked around outside her hole that she had been hiding in from everyone and walked out slowly but surely. She raced across the empty junkyard and crawled through the fence hole. The nine month old heard barking and howling from the city. The Karelian Bear Dog smiled to herself and ran into the city.

She reached the city finally after hours it seemed, as the femme looked for some kind of life so she could have SOMETHING to do. She raced and saw many other dogs. She gulpped as she sat quietly and waited on the 'leader' to come. Or atleast someone could trust.

Rayen's attention was caught by a flicker of movement out of the courner of her eyes, turning the female dog spotted a young pup. Smiling she said, "Well hello there little one, out exploring the big bad world?" He voice took on a gentler tone then she had been using with the adults, he tail flicking from side to side in a slow wag.

She then staggered over to the pup who had just entered the clearing. Lowering her body she nodded hello.

The young pup heard the footsteps of others that was nearing her, seeking something from her that was unknown to the 9 month old. She sighed as she listened to the adult asking if she was exploring the big bad world. The Karelian Bear Dog watched the other dog walk over to her and nod in a hello. She smiled slightly and nodded also, in saying hello and answering the question of the fem. She spoke in her uplifted voice," I'm just looking for other to stay with. I've also been looking for my siblings, if they are alive." She sighed and looked up at the sky as that was where her parents was.

Her ears twitched at the pup's words. She gazed over at the dog next to her looking for a reaction. She looked around the clearing doubting her siblings made it through this.

Zodiac entered the clearing and sensed dogs. "What is it?" He asked them.

Name: Alyx
Type of Canine: She's a mix. She's even got grey wolf in there.
Age: 2 years, I'd say.
Gender: Female
Physical Description: Alyx is very thin. Her ribs stick out, but yet she is very wiry. Her legs are long, and her most prominent features are her enormous ears and her large, liquid-silver eyes. Her fur is pale silver, light brown, and white. She would be quite pretty, actually, if it weren't for the fact that she got a hint of radiation when she was a puppy and acquired long, vampiric fangs that actually make you think of a sabertooth-dog when you look at her.
Personality: She's very shy, but can be aggressive if cornered. She prefers to keep to herself, it is true. She's quite smart, although she mainly uses her intelligence for survival and stuff instead of figuring things out. She's an arguer, not a fighter, or, as she says, a 'barker, not a biter'. She does have a strange sense of humor, and is basically strange all around.
History: When she was a young dog, she was exposed to a heap of radiation for precisely six seconds before her mom seized her and pulled her away. Eight days later, she woke up with fangs. Her mum was horrified, but stayed with her until the tragic event when a mutated zombie wolf grabbed her mother and fought her, and the two plummeted into another radiation pile and died.

Rayen smiled sadly at the pup, "It seems we all are in search of something," She muttered, before straightening, "You are free to come with us, we are already going to search for someone I don't see why we can't keep an eye out for your siblings along the way. I cannot guaranty we will find what either of you are searching for, and if we do it may end up that it was better if we did not, but I offered my services and that offer still stands if you choose to accept it." When the maned wolf spoke Rayen could not help but smile, it seemed this canine did not like being referred to as a fox. When she asked for names Rayen simply cocked her head an raised a brow, as if asking her to first introduce herself.
