Post minimum?

Yeah so, I had this idea that each there is a rule where each RPer has to at least post a minimum of ____ sentences? I mean, RP is pretty fine the way it is, though it might be a good idea to make a small number of sentences they at least have to post.

I'm not saying a whole paragraph, like maybe just 2 or 3 sentences per post.

Well that makes things less fun but that means you have to type more words for crystals

Its not about fun, I mean posting one sentence... People can do better, I know of it. They aren't trying. As for those who do try always get ninja'd.

I'm just saying 10 words can also refer to one sentence. Sentence rather than words can be more better...

I'd really like something like this. I actually think it's more fun when you do have a minimum like this. It pushes people to write more in-depth roleplay, and makes it easier for other people to write longer posts. Writing long roleplay posts is more fun than you may think =D

10 sentences would be way too much, at least for this site. I was thinking three, but as Shadowpup just pointed out it can still be a bit too short. Maybe, 50 words?

There is already a set requirement, although it is not stuck to much. I believe it is 6 sentences.

And so there is, I didn't see that. It's five sentences. Since there's already a post minimum, maybe the rule should be upheld a bit more strictly?

I have updated the Role-Play Rules topic to 6 sentences, and removed the words about it not being upheld. In role-play you will now be required to RP at least 6 sentences, which is about a paragraph.

I'm fine with this, I know I can do better and we all have to try harder to write more descriptive things.

This won't be a concern for me, my teachers stress about DETAILS, DETAILS, DETAILS all the time. But i'm worried about non-literate Rpers. It might be kinda hard for them to streach out their thoughts and such. I mean, i don't have a problem with anything, just bringing this up and all.

I think it's a good thing for non-literate RPers. It may be hard for them now, but as they post and try to reach the limit, it'll become easier for them and they'll become better RPers in time.

I don't understand why I should have to post six sentences when I can sufficiently get my point across with less. All I'll end up doing is adding irrelevant details to my posts, which just clutter things up and make everything confusing. Heck, I don't understand the point of the limit at all. Posting more than is my usual for RPing on this site dosen't help me become a better writer, it stresses me to keep up with the limit and makes my RPing experience less enjoyable.

Yeah thats true caue your like "ugh why cant i get another sentence" and it relly annoys people. I dont do sites with sent requirements like rainpack

As for those who do not really like this idea, I understand it is a bit challenging, though it can also improve your literate skills. Its not really rambling if you go ahead with the details, and make it more... I dunno, but it can make it more better, as if you are in that exact moment living the entire thing.

Ex.
Fangpaw saw a bunny and hopped, but it ran away. Then the apprentice was sad.

Can turn into something like...

The Riverclan apprentice was looking around, with his all of his senses alert. The wind was carefully blowing downhill, thus giving him an advantage to this hunt. A scatter was made by a careless rabbit, and it was not far off as well. Dropping into a low crouch, he prowled slowly and swiftly, until he was about a few tail-lengths away. Pulling the edge of his lips into a small smirk, Fangpaw let his back legs spring, and his front paws ready to hold a death grip upon the animal; before realizing that he had failed to calculate, and was about a few inches off. Slowly cursing to himself as his prey scattered off, the apprentice was then disappointed at himself, and at the point that he had missed to catch prey for his own clan.

Fang, it's not just that. There are some people who just cannot write that long of a post without somebodies help. My brother, Shadowpup, at there for half an hour and he was confused after just 3 sentences, his words jumbling together and all.

I can see that can be a problem, but there are sites, and it also takes practice. Like there's thesaurus to describe things.

You don't really need a thesaurus - you just need to imagine the things around your character, how your character is feeling, things like that. Like, how's the weather right now? Does your character see, smell, or hear something interesting? How do they feel about it? What are their opinions on the person who just started talking to them? Do they have a history with that particular character? Is there something about them that your character just doesn't like for some reason?

The best part about roleplay, and all writing for that matter, is that you can write about anything that comes to mind. You can describe everything, even if you don't have a huge vocabulary or a thesaurus at hand. You can make a bird fly hop around a tree by your character, or a butterfly flutter by their face. Your sentences don't have to be long either, they can just be something like, "the wind was cold".

I don't believe it should be 6 sentences :/ Three at the most because not everyone can post so much when there really isn't anything going on. For example: say your wolf is play fighting with someone else, you can't really post so much because you're not alone with what you're doing. Six sentences is stretching it and not many people have the time to stretch out what they want to say in that many.
