Ends in one week, July 23rd, 2012

We're trying something else this time, something that's not an art contest and everyone can participate! This contest is quite simple and will probably be relatively quick :]

What's it about?
The idea is simple, simply pick a song for each of the Clans, as well as StarClan and The Four Clans as a whole. This will become their theme song, and if we create a playlist it will be listed. It should summarize the pack in some kind of way- whether spirit or history. You can only enter one song per Clan, so choose wisely! You may edit your post and change your song, as long as it hasn't been suggested before you edit your post.

For what are we using these theme songs for? What Clans?
A theme song is requested for ThunderClan, RiverClan, WindClan, ShadowClan, StarClan, and the Four Clans as a whole. These songs will become the 'official' songs for each Clan and if we decide to make a playlist, will be listed there.

What kind of songs can I not use?
You can not use songs that include any inappropriate language or suggestive themes. Keep 'em G or PG, kids! The song does not need to include words.

Prizes
We'll be doing prizes a different way this time around. If your song is chosen to be an official Clan song, you get a prize. Since there will be 6 songs, there will be 6 winners. If your songs are chosen more than once (for different Clans) then your song becomes the official song, however the second place winner gets the prize. Makes sense?

Prizes
If your song is chosen- Song becomes official Clan song, 20 loyalty, 5 symbol points, 15 crystals. Mod powers on chatbox for 2 weeks. A full body lineart of your wolf for you to color in, courtesy of Apachepaw

Additionally we are using Apachepaw's idea for this contest. If you want to give prizes to winners, you can create them (such as avatars, signatures, and the like) and offer them up for winners. This might be more difficult since there will be more than 1 winner this time around. You will get an award for helping out and giving prizes, as well as some recognition. If you'd like to help with this, also post below.

To suggest songs, simply post below. If you want to suggest songs, you can suggest them for only 1 Clan instead of all of them and that is fine. Please edit & compile all suggestions into one post, but you can keep replying on this thread with other comments.

As for prizes I offer a full body line art of the person's wolf for them to color for the winner, and a head shot line art for the second place winner for them to use. (I would offer full blown drawing or photo manipulations by my time has been cut short as of late.)

Why
I picked this song since it has a mysterious air to it, along with various bits of instrumental scenes that are rather fun and odd at the same time yet they still fit, these odd little bits I see as the many members of Star Clan and their personalities and how they all fit together to make the whole song. The song is rather calm and mysterious at first, like that of the image of Star Clan, but the beat picks up and becomes more sinister showing the visions and horrible prophecies they must see and the tension that rises within Star Clans as they discuss what to do, as well as what they must be going through as they watch their clans go through what they saw, helpless to stop it, this tense part could also be considered a look into how a Clan leader must feel or go through as he is given his nine lives. or something like that. xD

Why:
This music is fun and free spirited like the wind, peaceful like a gentle breeze toying with the long grass. To me this is the embodiment of Windclan, wild, free, peaceful, and loyal.

Why:
This song reminds me of the mysterious River Clan, the peaceful feeling of sitting by a river as it steadily flows by imagining the places where it must go, where it might end.

Clan: Shadow Clan
Why:
Shadow Clan has made a lot of mistakes, and is viewed as the villains by the rest of the clans. But they take it and they tough it out, never giving in even when they are knocked down. The other clans because of their views of SC often do not see the hardships they face, the tears they shed over lost ones, or the every day fears these wolves have. As long as they have a dream and a goal Shadow Clan will tough it out and survive even the hardest of challenges, never losing their spirit, never giving in.

Song Name: Heart of Courage- Two Steps From Hell
Clan The Four Clans
Why:
This song reminds me of the Four Clans, the courage in the hearts of every member, the hardships they face, and the bravery they show as they are given crap from mother nature and each other. This song has a haunting yet inspiring feel to it, we can feel the lose, the triumph, the sacrifice, and the love. We cheer when we are victorious, have picked ourselves back up when we have lost, supporting one another and mourning together when we have lost loved ones. These are the Four Clans, they are the same, even though they do not accept it.

Apachepaw, is this for each winner (since there will be 6 and 12 total possibly unless one person wins a couple of times) or just for those of ShadowClan?

It has a bright yet soft tone and is very trickling with feeling. It has a nice meaning behind it and the name fits the clan. Very nice rhtyme and it is calming just like the trickle of water.

Why

It has a static electric pulsing beat. It pumps and it has quick beats representing the flashes and thuds of a storm. The strength and power of thunderclan is represented.

Song name: Seven Nation Army by the White Stripes
Clan: Shadowclan
Why: Shadowclan is often portrayed as the most headstrong, arrogant clan, and this song gives off an overly-confident vibe. It talks about doing anything to achieve ones goals, and how one shouldn't care about those who think differently from them. At one point, it says "even a seven nation army couldn't stop me", which just reminds of me Shadowclan and how cruelly determined they have the potential to be.

Song name: No Church in the Wild by Kayne West & Jay-Z, instrumental.
Clan: Four clans
Why: I just think the song gives off a "powerful" sort of vibe, and at parts the beat gets very closed off and intense. There are a few moments in the song where it gets quirky and incorporates several styles of music, symbolizing the differences between the four clans and all their seperate personalities.

Song name: The Eternal Forest
Clan: Starclan
Why: It has a mystical and mysterious sound to it, which is fitting since the living only know so much about Starclan. Also the name itself offers another reason. Starclan Wolves are in a eternal afterlife, in an unchanging habitat. There are also parts that sound strong-ish, which represent the great power that Starclan has. Also, there are individual parts to the song that each have their own relation to Starclan, for the most part. They are as follows:

Part 1 - The Entrance : Wolves Enter Starclan after dying.
Part 2 - The Surrounding Darkness : The Dark Forest, where the evil reside after death, is a neighboring area to Starclan.
Part 3 - The Old Tree : Starclan Wolves are very old, and have served their clan for many years on end.
Part 4 has no relation.
Part 5 - The Hellgaze Lair : Starclan gazes upon two troubled worlds. The first is the world of the living, often fillled with conflict and fighting. The second is the DF, where evil dead wolves make the most sinister plans while enduring utter loneliness.
Part 6 - Moonlight : The Medicine Cats organize their meetings based on the moon phases, and during gatherings, Starclan has control over how much moonlight can be seen.

Song name: The Sacrifice
Clan: All Four
Why: It sounds like a mix of anticipation and worry, emotions often found before clan events such as battles and ceremonies. Also because the name alludes to the fact that Clan Wolves promise to defend their clan with their life upon death.

Why: Has a sinster and evil feel to it, just like the rumors surrounding Shadowclan.

Song Name: Beautiful Dawn
Clan: Thunderclan
Why: This song has a very calm feel to it, referring to the fact that Thunderclan likes to be very calm and unalerting while hunting. The Calm feel also refers to the fact that Thunderclan is not usually a 'mean' clan and is not particularly apt to start big conflicts of any sort.

Song Name: Wind Song
Clan: Windclan
Why: Has a 'wind-ish' feel to it, which relates to Windclan in both its name and the fact that Windclan can quite literally run like the wind in the process of catching rabbits for prey. The feel also seems to be asking for something, which refers to the fact that, in the warrior books' first series at least, Windclan is not always fully able to survive on its own and often has to ask for help from other clans.

Song Name: Kiss The Rain
Clan: Riverclan
Why: The name itself hints at a love for water, which Riverclan obivously has. It also has a lighthearted feel, and some of the notes kind of sound like raindrops, which obviously fits Riverclan. There are also several pictures of rain within the actual video, making it even more fitting for Riverclan.
P. S. I have checked through the whole video, and even though it is named "Kiss The Rain", there is nothing inappropriate in the lyrics, pictures, or actual music.

Clan: ThunderClan
Why:
I had asked others about the most heroic clan and they had mentioned the ThunderClan. I don't know much about the clans, but if they're heroic, this is the song for them. It mentions who's going to fight for what's right and also about who's going to help us survive.

I might post some later on also.

Song: M12+13 by Kajiura Yuki
Clan: ShadowClan
Why: It just kind of that "feel" to it. I don't even remember how I came across it - I've never heard of the anime, and I don't remember downloading the song. Oh well. I had a really hard time finding a good song for ShadowClan, and this was really the only one that stuck. I thought I had heard something better but I couldn't find it, if it even existed in the first place o.o

Song: Fairy Wars Symphony by dBu
Clan: RiverClan
Why: Prettier remix of what I had for RiverClan before~ I chose this because it has a nice light-hearted feel to it, which in my mind fit RiverClan quite well.

Song: Moonless Night Amaryllis by WAVE
Clan: ThunderClan
Why: I had a really hard time finding a song for ThunderClan until about 15 seconds into this one. I actually wasn't looking for a song for any Clan in particular, but when I heard this song I almost instantly thought ThunderClan. I don't really know how to explain why I think it fits ThunderClan so well, so I just hope you can hear why I came to that conclusion XD

Clan: WindClan
Why: It was nearly impossible to find something I liked for WindClan, but I managed to find this. I'm really not sure how well it fits, though. It made me think of WindClan, but that might be because it was the last Clan I had to find a song for. Oh well, it's a nice song either way. I guess it's kind of mysterious in some parts, bit like WindClan is in the books since you don't hear about them too much. I think it's time to admit that I have no idea what I'm talking about XD

Song: Mami's theme from Puella Magi Madoka Magica
Clan: StarClan
Why: It has a nice heavenly sound to it, which is always a plus for a StarClan theme in my opinion. I actually went back and forth between this and another song for StarClan, but the other song didn't make much sense for StarClan, but it would've been perfect if there was a theme for a wolf "praying" to StarClan XD I wish I could find something better for StarClan though.

Clan: ALL the Clans!
Why: This post wouldn't be complete without something from Doctor Who. Chose this one because it's just so epic, and I think it fits TFC quite well.

Why:
Wind Clan has to do with the wind. They usually feel like a candle in a hurricane. They will be blown out, but not forever. They are swift and loyal. This song fits them so well. Even though you feel like a candle in a hurricane, it will be alright.

'If Everyone Cared'. Those words really describe Thunder Clan. Thunder Clan is highly discriminated by most clans. Though, Thunder Clan always want to help. No matter what happens.

Why:
It has to do with Rain. Though, it meaning is much deeper. Behind the meaning of a girl standing in a rain, picture this. A riverclan warrior, trapped in Nature's rain showers. It's battle takes place there. Even though, they are made fun of for their unusual love for water, they still stand their ground.

Why:
This song is very well fitted. The title gives me the picture of Shadow Clan. 'Shadow of the Day'. I picture Shadow Clan as the shadows of the other clans. Although, they perfer to stick themselves, this song shows that you should never turn your back.

I think that this song fits it perfect because it refers to all of the clans as one. In the song, it is basically the clans directing the song to Star Clan.

Why: It's a very sweet song that asks you: "What's in your life?" to me. I think it would go well because when a wolf is dying, the memories of their past flood into their mind and they realize what their life was to them.
