Stoatpaw training w/ Magmafeather

First topic message reminder :

Pups may not wander in. Anyone else can though.

This is currently being used for Stoatpaw's training. Silverpaw/heart was a former apprentice of mine.

To apprentices: Note that if you don't come on for 72 hours, you will lose 2 points in each skill that you haven't mastered yet. Mastering means having a 60/60 value in that skill.

Skill Point Rubric:
Hunting Large Animals : 14 for hit, 8 for miss (0/60)

Hunting Medium-Sized Animals : 9 for hit, 5 for miss (55/60)

Hunting Small Animals : 4 for hit, 2 for miss (4/60)

Fishing : 4 for hit, 2 for miss (0/60)

Finding Prey : 4 for large, 8 for medium, 12 for small, 6 for fish (20/60)

Finding Herbs : 5 per successful find (0/60)

Scouting for Predators : 8 for successful scouting w/out injury, 5 for successful w/ minor injury, 2 for successful w/ major injury (0/60)

Offensive Fighting : 5 for Successful hit, 2 for unsuccessful hit. (54/60)

Defensive Fighting : 7 for Successful block, 3 for unsuccessful block. (60/60)

Stoatpaw nodded at the encouragement from his mentor, getting up to his paws and sprinting after the young deer. The deer glanced back at him before increasing its speed. However, the apprentice had managed to injure it, and like Magmafeather had said, it was slowing down as it ran. The young wolf took this chance to leap at the deer, landing on its shoulder and he bit down. The deer ran next to a tree, causing the apprentice to fall again. Stoatpaw got back up to his paws, limping forward slightly as he ran. He sprang at the deer, only just managing to avoid it as the deer kicked out with its hind hooves. The apprentice tried to bite at the deer's neck, causing it to loose its balance. It still moved forward, trying for the orange-furred apprentice to fall off; he held on, however, biting down on the deer and trying not to loose his balance.

Magmafeather watched as Stoatpaw continued to fight the deer. Stoatpaw was winning, but the deer was fighting back hard. Magmafeather hoped that Stoatpaw would be able to bring it down. The sooner he could catch prey, the more confident he would be of himself.

Stoatpaw growled at the deer, still holding onto it. The deer ran as quick as it could, then tripped on a tree root. It fell down, and Stoatpaw managed to stay on it. The orange-furred apprentice pinned it down, trying to bite it. After some time, the deer went limp. Stoatpaw smiled, sitting down. He didn't fully catch it, as the deer might have been able to escape had it not fell down; still, he'd taken down the deer anyways, and he was proud he had.

"Well Done." Said Magmafeather. "You should now be able to be a warrior."

(Training is now complete, as Stoatpaw has achieved the final training requirements of 45/60 in 2 skills, and 60/60 in 1 skill. This thread will no longer be monitored.)
