Fourtrees #8

Fourtrees is a group of four tall oak trees that the Clan wolves have held their Gatherings at since the early days of the Clans. Fourtrees is described as neutral territory, and is often used when wolves from different Clans want to meet outside a Gathering. There is a large rock in the middle of Fourtrees called the Great Rock.The Clan leaders use it to look down on the Clans and share their news during Gatherings. Also, there is a small opening in the rock with a space big enough for many small pups to fit into.

Thistlepaw raced to the Fourtrees yet still seemed to be the first to get there. The gathering was eerily silent and the trees swayed in the darkening sky. Cautiously padding down the hill and feeling the lush grass beneath his paws, he took a seat and waited for others to arrive. What happened at the last gathering flashed through his mind, the memory of the white wolf laying dead at the base of the hill burned forever into his brain. It was as if he could recall exactly where the wolf laid there. The evil wolves had caused that, and also killed Isenfire. He felt an anger fill him, something that rarely occurred.

Racing through the brush,she skidded to a stop at the start of the clearing. Her eyes sparkled with delight. She raced down. Joyously,she bounced around.

Direstar strode up with pride, he glanced at Snowpup and thistlepaw and smiled with pride. he began mentally making a list of the wolves that he had to make note of. he decided that he wouldnt acknowledge moonpaw or oakpaw.

Hawkpool steped confidently through the clearing. She had noticed Firestar had been missing. She knew that she would return. But for now,she jumped up onto Great Rock. She glanced at Direstar,and nodded to him. "Good evening Direstar. How is Moonwhisper? And I'm wondering bout Streak too." She blinked her one good eye.

Others began to gather beneath the trees. Thistlepaw saw his mentor come into the clearing towards the rock at the middle. With pale eyes he watched a SunClan pup come bounding down the slope in excitement and he watched the pup's process closely. Two wolves of ThunderClan then arrived. One headed straight towards the rock and leapt upon it. This was not the wolf he recognized from last gathering. Had something else happened to this leader?

Snowpup felt eyes onher. She glanced up and noticed an apprentice watch her. She blinked her eyes and dashed over. Skidding to a stop. She wagged her tail. "Hi! Who are you?"

Heatherpup bounded into Four Trees. What she saw made her stop dead in her tracks. Wolves. Many different looking wolves that all smelled strange. "Why are there so many wolves here?" She thought, starting to panic. Through the crowd, Heatherpup spotted her sister, Snowpup, talking to an older wolf. She ran over to her. "Hey Snowpup, Why are all these wolves here?!" She asked, casting weary glances at the strangers.

Falconwing padded into fourtrees, his head suddenly low and his ears laid back nervously. This was his first gathering since he had left and he was nervous about other reactions. Guloing the large brute sat down next to the tree by Thunderclan territory and sat his head high. He would not show how nervous he wa. The male was proud to be abck and he would show it. Yet the look of sadness did not leave his eyes. Icefrost was gone, forever...

Otterpup leered at his siblings before he walked over and sat beside thistlepaw. he began licking his fluffy pelt ignoring any glances. he had decided that he had liked the apprentices manner and was going to follow him around. his still blue eyes gazed around rather accusingly.

Heatherstar enterd the spowly filling clearing confidently, her head suspended proudly in the air as she stood upon the hill on the WindClan border of Fourtrees. From the scents that met her she could tell that some of ThinderClan and SunClan had already arrived, but she was the first WindClan wolf. Spying Direstar sat near the base of GreatRock and padded over to him, her tail held high in greeting. "Greetings Direstar." She barked as she approached, and smile painted on her muzzle.

Snowflower smiled at Direstar and Heatherstar. "Heather's back!"she said to herself. The fae greeted Dire with a head dip. She looked around. Hawk pool was there of course. The female sat down and waited.


EbonyFur looked up at her leader. She looked to her sister and smiled. "Hello."she said to her sister. The ebony furred fae was looking every where around her.

Snowflower sensed something from Ebony. "She's in love."the female thought to herself. "With who?"she wondered. The female flashed a smile and looked to the her sister again.

The wolf slowly stepped forward to the place as she looked around carefully. None of the wolves from Stormclan were here. Some of the leaders already arrived which made the single Stormclan warrior feel uncomfortable. Once again she found a quiet, dark and mossy place far from the others and sat down. She curled her tail around herself as she began cleaning her chest fur. When she was done she glanced at the wolves and hopped that another clan-mate of hers will come soon.

"I am Thistlepaw," the apprentice replied, looking down at the pup. This was one of Streakfire's litter, yes? Soon the pup's other siblings seemed to congregate nearby and he felt suddenly uncomfortable being around so many other wolves. Looking up he saw the familiar leader of WindClan arrive and address Direstar with a friendly attitude. He knew he should probably avoid the leader, for she had not known of Thistlepaw's plan to sneak out with Shadowstorm. Speaking of that, he should avoid the StormClan leader Shadestar as well.

Heatherpup whipped around. She had thought she heard someone barked that Heather was back. "Are they talking about me?" She wondered, baffled. The she noticed a proud, brown She-wolf strut forward from the Moorland. Heatherpup gasped. "Is that Heatherstar?" All her nervousness was gone in a flash as she trotted towards the leader. "Hello!" Heatherpup called to the She-wolf. "Are you Heatherstar?" The admiration clearly in her voice.

Jadepaw padded into the area with her thoughts all jumbled up. She could see that only Heatherstar and Snowflower were here out of WindClan so far and Jade wrinkled her nose a little at the thought. Padding over to sit in the shade of a tree at the edge of the hollow, Jade decided to wait for more WindClanners or wolves she knew to turn up that she could speak to. Big crowds always made Jadepaw feel a little nervous and she rolled her shoulders back and forth to keep warm. A smile appeared as she watched a pup staring at Heatherstar obviously excited about something and wondered what was going through the pup's mind.

Heatherstar's eyes peered curiously down at a pup as she trotted over and questioned her eagerly. By the smell of it she was a SunClan pup, and by the time the WindClan leader had processed what the pup had asked her, her face was beaming. "Hello there." Heatherstar replied cheerfully, her gaze bright and welcoming. "Why yes I am. Now who might you be?" Heatherstar flicked her tail contently as she watched the female pup interestedly, always glad to meet and greet new and friendly wolves at every opportunity she had.

Heatherpup could hardly contain herself. She fluffed up her fur to make her look taller and hopefully older. "I'm Heatherpup! I was named after you!" She replied beaming. "One day I'm going to be a great leader, just like you!" The pup was excited that she finally met the wolf she was named after.

Heatherstar grinned at the pup and winked down at her as she addressed herself. "Beautiful name, Heatherpup." The small leader chuckled, feeling relaxed and humerus within the presence of the young pup. Hearing Heatherpup's ambitions for the future her interest intensened and her smile broadened. "Ambitions are a good thing to have, Heatherpup." The leader began, her voice soft yet serious and full of knowledge as she continued. "As long as you don't let them get the better of you or get too ahead of yourself, you can achieve anything." As she spoke, a realisation dawned upon her at the familiarity of Heatherpup's appearance and she began to wonder. "Might I ask who your parents are, young one?"

Heatherpup nodded at her words of wisdom. Then Heatherstar asked who her parents were. "They're Ripplestone and Stoatblaze." She replied. "I have other siblings too. They're Obisidanpup, Rainpup, Twilightpup, Hazelpup, Snowpup, and Otterpup." She stood up a little taller. "But I was the only one named after a clan leader, except for Rainpup. I think she was named after Rainstar." She looked back up to the Windclan leader again. "Anyway, what's it like to live in Windclan?" She asked.

Heatherstar nodded as Heatherpup spoke, her suspicions now confirmed. Lowering her rump to the earth and assuming a comfortable sitting position the slim female listened to the pup as she listed each of her siblings in turn. She certainly seemed oto have a lot of brothers and sisters, and Heatherstar felt a pang of sadness twinge inside her chest as she realised that she would never really have someone such as a sibling to confide in. Twitching her whiskers she reminded herself that she always had her friends to look out for and vice versa, and when Heatherpup asked what it was like in WindClan she was fully focused once more. "Well my friend, it is very open and windy - rather ironically- and you can run and run until you can run no more, and you will not come into contact with any kind of barrier or stopper in your path. As you go you can feel the wind rushing through your pelt and hear things from great distances as the wind carries the sound unto you. You can also see for miles around from the right place so it is easy to spot attackers." Eventually finishing her explanation, realising that she might have dragged on as she relished herself in the thought of her home land she returned her attention to Heatherpup. "It is very different to the rocky expanses of the SunClan territory, as you might have gathered."

Thunderpaw limped into the clearing. Different scents flooded his nose like the flooding of a cave at high tide. He blinked in surprise as he was caught so off guard. His fuzzy ears flattening he made his way quietly and hid under a bush. He hadn't expected so much activity.

"Yeah, that sounds neat." Heatherpup replied. "But I still like to be in the mountains on Sunclan's territory." The pup sat down and neatly curled her tail around her paws. She glanced around, only spotting 2 other Windclan wolves. "Is Windclan a big clan?" She asked her.
