"The Dream"

It seemed like only moments, but it could have been hours since he had passed out. Waking up, Shadestar's head felt sore, perhaps where he hit it? He felt groggy as well. Wondering what even happened, he stood up shakily, putting one foot on the rock one by one and standing up. What met his eyes scared him to his core.

The wolves were all collapsed as if they were dead. Every single wolf. What could have even caused this? But that wasn't what alarmed him the most. All the trees, all the foliage, everything.... Was burnt to ash. Gone, like that. He couldn't have been out that long could he? Stepping down from the rock, he trotted to the edge of the clearing. Something didn't feel right here, as though it was a dream, though it felt real enough certainly. It was just something didn't fit right in his mind. Perhaps he was just attempting to cope with what happened. All of his home, everyones home, gone in the course of a second. What the heck was going on? Confused, he ran back to the rock and stood there, his golden gaze protectively watching the rest of the collapsed wolves, especially the ShadowClan ones. They would have to come together, whether they wanted to or not.

Nettlepup stayed as close as he possibly could to the others. He was frightened of all the different voices, scents, and just the sher size of the warriors. The little pup crept beneath the paws and legs of his clanmates. It was his first gathering, ever, so what was he to do? Was it right to talk to others around here? he asked himself. With little motion, he raises his head up to look at the faces surroundings him from above. A little glance furthur up, he had spotted another pup, Tallpup and an apprentice, Rosepaw, from his clan. Quickly now, Nettlepup darted in their direction to talk with them instead. he kept hoping he would not get stepped on or snapped at by any other.

Magmapup walked around cautiously, trying to figure out why everything had changed and what had caused Shadestar to jump into the gorge.

Lilystar looked behind her to witness several others, including Swiftstar. Shaking her head in worry and guilt, the female began to pace. "S-Shadestar... He j-jumped.. And I d-dunno what's going on... H-He's been weird since we all a-awoke." She mumbled, stammering her words. Looking over the cliff, she saw the rapids going along, but no scents nor signs of a dead leader anywhere. Looking over now at the Shadowclan members, Lilystar had no clue what to do. She was traumatized.

Lightningpaw heard her mentor's words but simply twitched her ears. She wanted to know several things. Why had Shadestar jumped? Was he okay? Did he have a plan he was performing? Was she now leaderless? What had caused damage to the forest like this? And was the damage done the reason Shjadestar jumped? Lightningpaw didn't know. As she stared down the gorge, paws planted firmly so that she wouldn't slip yet also ready enough that if the ledge began to break off she could easily leap away. She twitched her ears again and flicked her tail anxiously, waiting.

Dustypup twitched an ear, staring up at all of the canids around him - yes, the small pup didn't even know what was gong on, and seemed even more confused than the others.

Squirrelpup winced. What had caused Shadestar, the noble Shadowclan leader, to jump into the gorge? Curiously, he inched closer

Magmapup, confused, walked over to Lilystar and said "Why did Shadestar jump? Is he fully dead or did he just lose a life?"

Once Jetpup had recognized the ThunderClan leader, he had ran up to her and stuck close, still immensely afraid and confused about what had happened here. He heard others speaking, but he didn't register what they were saying, and instead kept himself hunched down, almost in a little ball, moving along with and following the ThunderClan leader whenever she'd move.

Nettlepup flattened his ears when the words about Shadestar struke him. The pup was so confused. He recalled hearing the stories of most of the clan leaders. What caused him to jump? Was he fully dead or did he only lose one life? Nettlepup took steps back, still remaining beneath the paws of those in his clan. He stopped when he came up to the young warrior, Owlfrost, again. "Owlfrost... what's going on?" he asked with widened grey eyes.

The Riverclan leader nodded to herself mostly, but listened to the ThunderClan leader's voice. Looking around, they were pretty far from the river, but before she made her way to gather her riverclan wolves, she looked over the ledge first, seeing no trace of Shadestar. "Okay." was all that Lilystar said, before padding over to the riverbank to gather up her clan.

(basically everyone woke up and went to the river and then shadestar jumped into the gorge. soyeah)

Magmapup looked toward the gorge, looking for any sign of Shade making it to Shore. Worry grew in him as he continued to see nothing. Perhaps Shadestar was gone for good?

Skypup closed her eyes and kept them shut tight. She had not heard Shadestar had jumped off the edge and into the gorge. He just wouldn't have! But the fae had to admit, Shadestar was acting very strange after he woke up, worse than all the other wolves.

Magmapup walked over to Skypup, and said "There, There. I'm sure everything will be all right."

But in all reality, Magmapup had no clue if things were all right or not, and was trying to act positive.

Skypup shook her head at the other pup's words and buried her head in her paws. She said nothing but let out a small whimper.

Magmapup knew that whimpering would solve nothing, and shook his head at Skypup.

A shimmery figure stepped out from behind the ruined tree trunks. Only a slight figure remained of the once proud leader. His eyes carefully watched the other wolves milling about near the gorge, the place where he 'died'. He shook his head, as if sighing. They hadn't taken his advice when he had given it. Perhaps he should not have jumped and told them first, but what if he had been wrong? It was the only way.

His acute hearing heard the words of the wolves. Going back to the Fourtrees would be helpful for gathering, however perhaps backtracking. He simply stood there and did not approach. It wasn't as if he had anything to say, anyway. If they saw him, they did. Or if each one of them saw him, he should say. (Or if it saw him? Who knows)

All Apachepaw could do was stare on horror as his leader leaped into the gorge, he wanted to cry out, wanted to go over after him. But his body remained frozen to the spot he sat, this could not be real. Everything was so strange, a fire that did not leave a scent, that left a group of wolves safe as it destroyed the land around. it was also like it was some sort of, dream....

Blinking the young wolf tried to work things out in his mind, his leader never would have flipped out and leaped to his death. he was a sensible and strong willed, the whole forest could have fallen down around him-like it had- and he would have still remained strong. Could it all be a dream that the mysterious thing that made everyone fall asleep concocted? The idea was so crazy that normally he would have brushed it aside, but nothing made sense any more. Quietly the pup muttered, "it's all just a dream, it has to be."
