Fourtrees #2

Fourtrees is a group of four tall oak trees that the Clan wolves have held their Gatherings at since the early days of the Clans. Fourtrees is described as neutral territory, and is often used when wolves from different Clans want to meet outside a Gathering. There is a large rock in the middle of Fourtrees called the Great Rock.The Clan leaders use it to look down on the Clans and share their news during Gatherings

For this gathering, we will also be visiting an abandoned carnival. The topic will be opened once it is mentioned by Shadestar and everyone travels there.

Russetpup's eyes sparkled playfully, but then he mock scowled at her when she got his own black tail. "Now we're in a pickle,' he replied, muffled by his friend's tail. He was about to tug again when she tugged. He yelped, instantly cutting it off in embarrassment. "So what are we going to do now?" he asked the female.

Rain smiled triumphantly. She shrugged yawning, "I have no idea." She walked back to Featherpup still talking, "I'm tired though." She yawned again. She looked over her shoulder to see if Russet was following, she smiled and yawned once more.

Russetpup got up, seeing that Rain had let go of his tail. "Me too," he said. Even the super-hyper male was beginning to tire. "I mean, it would be good if they actually started the gathering, rather than just hanging round here." He made a little yawn, showing his small, ivory-white incisors. "Do you want to go exploring?"

Rainpup stopped in her tracks, she nodded her tiredness forgotten. "But we have to come back quickly when it starts." The black female followed he golden friend, her head still high.

Russetpup grinned. "I don't think it will start in a while, and we may find something interesting." He looked up at the moon, still high overhead. "It's not even moonhigh yet, so we've got plenty of time." He wagged his tail, trotting ahead. He looked back at Rain, waiting for his friend to catch up.

Rainpup bounded forward and stood shoulder to shoulder with Russetpup. She sighed happily breathing in the crispy night air. The soft breeze cooled her down a bit as it ruffled her black fur. She walked forward her four white paws seeming as if they were glowing in the moonlight. She looked around, looking or anything that would interest a pup.

Russetpup watched as Rainpup came over, and he too looked around. He twitched his ears, hearing something ahead, but it turned out to be a sparrow. He had a short attention span, and together with his hyper personality, he wanted to find something interesting.
His eyes fell on a massive tree, one of the four which made up Fourtrees. The pup bounded over, his eyes sparkling. "Hey, Rainpup," he called the female, putting his paw on the massive tree, "Look at this!"

Rainpup watched as the sparrow flew away and ran over wondering what had caught her friends attention. She looked at the tree but didn't see anything quickly, "What? I don't see anything."

Russetpup prodded his friend and pointed with his nose towards the bottom of the tree. "Not the tree...." he moved a few leaves that were slightly covering what he had seen. He pointed his muzzle towards the find; a small stone with a little fish skeleton in it. It was a fossil, though Russetpup didn't know. "It's a stone fish..."

Rainpup looked at it. "A stone fish, I have never heard of one. Do you think the fish is ok?" The sight of the fossil amazed Rain and she believed that the fish was in pain.

Russetpup looked at the fossil, and poked it with his paw. "I don't know....it's not yelping or anything....wait what noise do fish make?" He frowned, as he had never seen a live fish, having never been out of Camp apart from today.

Rain thought about it, "I have no idea. but maybe you should keep it just in case it does make a sound, so we know what fish sound like." She prodded the fossil with much curiosity.

Russetpup shook his head. "Don't you want it? I'd probably loose it or something." He pawed at the fossil. He didn't want to admit it, but he didn't know if fish roared or made another sound he considered scary.

Rainpup looked at him, "Are you afraid of a rock fish?, 'she pokes the fish with her nose, "Ican keep it if you want." She looked at her friend and smiled.

Russetpup grinned. "Course not...." he pokes the fish gingerly. "If you don't want it, I'll have it, but it's just because I'll loose it or something. You know what I'm like when it comes to loosing things." He pawed it again, and looked back at Rainpup. "Okay, okay. I don't want a rock fish roaring at me. Laugh all you like."

Rainpup smiled and butted his shoulder with her head, "I'm not going to laugh, I mean I mght chuckle but I will take it with me and we can hide it! and then no one will know about it and it can be our secret," She kept talking as she ran around in a circle excitedly.

Russetpup looked at Rainpup with surprise, as he had thought she would've laughed. He smiled, nodding eagerly at the idea. "Yeah, that's a good idea," he replied, smiling at her running in circles. "Our secret."

Rainpup stopped and ran the other way. "And then no one will know about it and then we will know all about it because its ours and then," She stopped in her tracks, "I think we should tell Featherpup too, I don't want her to feel left out." She looked at her friend.

Russetpup watched with amusement how Rainpup was so energetic. He nodded. "Yeah, we should tell her," he agreed, looking around for the female pup. "Can you see her?"

Rainpup looked around, "Hmm no, but Io bet we will find her." She carefully picked up the rock fish, and walked around looking for Featherpup. She waited for her friend to catch up, her tail wagging a mile a minute.

Russetpup watched as Rainpup picked up the rock fish. He bounced after her, feeling hyper once again. "She can't be far," he said when he got close enough to speak with Rainpup. "She was near the weird thing...."

"Oh yeah!." Rain ran over to the thing that floated high above the ground. She didn't run to fast letting Russet catch up to her sudden sprint. Once close enough she looked around.

Russetpup raced after her, panting a little. He stopped beside the female, looking around the area. "Where is she? Can you see her?"

Rainpup looked around, she shook her head. she set the rock fish down, "Maybe she moved?" She then picked up the fossil and looked around. She whined in frustration of not finding her friend.

Russetpaw frowned. "Wonder where she is..." he mused. "Don't worry, maybe she went back to the Camp. We'll see her after the gathering's over," he reassured the female. "Maybe she was tired."
