Panthera

In the African plains, the zebra graze calmly, their foals playing chase between the adults’ legs. The stripy Equines are relaxed, not knowing that their archenemy is waiting in the grasses only a few metres away. However, this enemy will not kill a mere zebra today; she has far more important prey to catch.
A lioness waits in the grass, swishing her tail impatiently. Her sandy pelt, covered with dust, provides perfect camouflage. She is still, like a statue, ready to pounce on her quarry, the wolf a few metres away. A bird calls from a tree behind her, and her amber eyes look up anxiously, her heart skipping a beat, however, seeing nothing, she calms and focuses back on her prey. She moves towards it, slipping through the grasses. She must not be seen, and not be heard; for the Canid will notice her and run. She cannot afford that. Her cubs are starving, and she must kill today.
The mother lion’s right ear twitches as she hears the roar of another lion nearby. Her heart goes into her mouth as she sees the wolf look up, snarling at the creature. She will have to do it now, for else it could be too late and the wolf will have gone.
The lioness’ paws thud against the ground as she gains speed, not caring anymore. Her muscles strain. When she is near enough she pounces, her razor-sharp claws extended, ready to slice into the flesh of her prey. A roar escapes her lips, her golden eyes loose all their intelligence, and in their place is the fabled red mist of old, of the mighty, deadly predators in their element.

Welcome to Panthera, a feline big cat RolePlay. The RolePlay is set in a fictional landmass named the Shadow Lands by the human inhabitants which live on the outskirts. There are many different terrains in this area, from mountains to plains, and it is famous for it's many breeds of felines which live there.

Right then, onto the felines your character can be. To avoid wasting time, any type of feline's allowed. If I list them all we'll all be ninety years old and probably not interested after having waited all that time, so yeah.

The usual stuff (like different coloured eyes, etc) is okay, just avoid flying, pink tigers with multicoloured wings with a marking on it which looks exactly like a white parrot in flight, please. Albinos, etc are okay. All the TFC rules apply, so nothing inappropriate.

Note: The actual term "Panthera" is a genus containing the tiger, the lion, the leopard and the jaguar, however in this roleplay you can be any size of any species of cat, from a domesticated to a lion.

Tundra crept out of her cave, and eyed the cliffs around her suspiciously. The snow leopard checked the coast was clear before running out and taking refuge on a snowy hillock, overlooking her territory. The female was timid by nature, and was extremely nervous of the outside world. She had heard that many other felines were out and about by her mother, but until now she hadn't had the courage to go and take a look. Today was different however, she was going to do it.

Joey prowled about. The large male was looking for an easy meal, as he searched he thought about everything people said about tigers. How they were evil and untrustworthy. He shook his large head and kept stalking his prey.

Tundra shivered in the cold air, before quietly moving down the slope, her paws crunching on the fresh snow. She looked up, her grey eyes glancing around the cliffs above for predators, but seeing none, she continued onwards, seeing the edge of her territory come into view.

Joey kept walking, he scowled as he scared small prey away. The large male gave up his hunt and walked around looking for something to do. He walked silently thought the snow leaving large prints behind.

Tundra stopped, hearing the distinctive crunch of snow. She was the lone owner of her territory, so someone must be prowling about in it. She nervously swished her tail before creeping around a corner, her grey eyes anxious. She widened her eyes in surprise as she saw the large male tiger walking about, and she tried to stay hidden.

Savira opened her bright blue eyes. She was perched up in her favorite tree, resting. The sun pokd thrugh the branches of this tree and made her pelt shine beautifully. A movement caught her eye and she turned her head slightly to see it. /Time to get a snack./ she said spotting a young Thompson's Gazelle coming near her tree. Slowly the cat crept along the branch to get into position. She settled down, in perfect position, ready to pounce. The little prey came closer and closer and as soon as it's head bent low, Savira launched herself from the tree and landed perfectly on the young tommy. With a swift killing bite that silenced her prey, Savira then dragged her kill up the tree, her powerful muscles helping her to accomplish the task. Once her food was safely in the tree, the leopard began to eat at her pleasure, bright eyes scanning the area.

Joey stopped and sniffed the air. There was someone else around. He hated being spied on but he wasn't about to break his streak, of not attacking out of shear anger. Slowly he turned and sat, waiting for the other animal to appear. His tail flicked behind him a bit impatiently.

Tundra noticed that the tiger could see she was here. She stayed quiet, hoping not to provoke the tiger into attacking. She knew tigers by reputation.

Joey frowned, as the creature did not come out. Stretching he lied down in the snow and rolled in it happily. He lied there paws in the air. "You can come out you know. If I wanted to I would have attacked you already." He pawed the air waiting to see if they would come out. He wasn't going to hurt them, he had a good reputation with him, only he had no friends and he wanted friends, desperately.

Tundra heard his words, and crept out into the open. She looked extremely small, standing there, and as she looked up at the large tiger she wondered if this was a good idea. "Hello," she said quietly, her white fur being blown about by a cold breeze that came through the region.

Joey smiled, but stayed on the floor so that the snow leopard wouldn't feel threatened. "Hi, I'm Joey, who do I have the pleasure of meeting?" His voice was smooth and pleasing.

Jade slithered from the bramble thicket letting the horizon glow warm her pelt. Letting a large yawn escape her maw and taking a strecth bow. The wind trickled her nape, eyes fluttering the territory she flicked her thick tail. Then sitting to groom the brambles from her sleek beautiful pelt. Her eyes were still submerged from her pelt looking at the still grass.

"I'm Tundra.....who are you?"
Tundra had forgotten any manners, and was backed up slightly. She was still nervous, and tales were running through her head which her mother had told her about giant tigers that eat snow leopard pups for breakfast.

Savira, after finishing her meal, licked her jaws and crept down from her tree, stretching once she reached the bottom. She looked around, bright eyes scanning the area. Like a shadow the young leopard slipped away from the tree for a stroll. Soon the leopard spotted a cheetah. The young cat looked at the smaller, faster cat and slowed her pace. She advanced lazily, heading in a direction that was more past the cheetah than actually at it. She faked as if she had not seen the cat and simply walked at a leisurely pace.

Jade stopped as she spotted the flicker of movement. Her eyes followed she wasn't a normal cheetah but a king a bit bigger than a normal cheetah. But she did not snarl all but growled softly keeping it to herself.

Savira stopped and flicked her ears at a sound. It was soft and hardly noticeable, but it sounded like a growl. The leopard looked at the cheetah, amused and sat down, grooming her chest fur. Her tail was curled, an indication she was not in the mood to hunt. And her lazy yawn gave an indication she was not interested in attacking or growling with a cheetah.

Jade was beginning to feel hunger grapple her stomache. Dropping the stare she stood and looked at her home. Then stalking off her haunches relaxed her toes spread each time they hit the ground. Her back lowered and eyes alert for prey.

Savira watched as the cheetah looked around the drop into a hunter's crouch. The young leopard, wondering for yet another easy meal, followed behind at a good distance, low to the ground so no creature would see her. You know leopards, they hate being seen. Her tail was curled up a little as she walked behind the cheetah, ears swiveling to catch sounds.

Joey smiled, "Nice to meet you Tundra." He looked at the Snow leopards expression, he flattened his ears and frowned still lying on his back. "You think I'm going to attack you don't you?"
