In the African plains, the zebra graze calmly, their foals playing chase between the adults’ legs. The stripy Equines are relaxed, not knowing that their archenemy is waiting in the grasses only a few metres away. However, this enemy will not kill a mere zebra today; she has far more important prey to catch.
A lioness waits in the grass, swishing her tail impatiently. Her sandy pelt, covered with dust, provides perfect camouflage. She is still, like a statue, ready to pounce on her quarry, the wolf a few metres away. A bird calls from a tree behind her, and her amber eyes look up anxiously, her heart skipping a beat, however, seeing nothing, she calms and focuses back on her prey. She moves towards it, slipping through the grasses. She must not be seen, and not be heard; for the Canid will notice her and run. She cannot afford that. Her cubs are starving, and she must kill today.
The mother lion’s right ear twitches as she hears the roar of another lion nearby. Her heart goes into her mouth as she sees the wolf look up, snarling at the creature. She will have to do it now, for else it could be too late and the wolf will have gone.
The lioness’ paws thud against the ground as she gains speed, not caring anymore. Her muscles strain. When she is near enough she pounces, her razor-sharp claws extended, ready to slice into the flesh of her prey. A roar escapes her lips, her golden eyes loose all their intelligence, and in their place is the fabled red mist of old, of the mighty, deadly predators in their element.

Welcome to Panthera, a feline big cat RolePlay. The RolePlay is set in a fictional landmass named the Shadow Lands by the human inhabitants which live on the outskirts. There are many different terrains in this area, from mountains to plains, and it is famous for it's many breeds of felines which live there.

Right then, onto the felines your character can be. To avoid wasting time, any type of feline's allowed. If I list them all we'll all be ninety years old and probably not interested after having waited all that time, so yeah.

The usual stuff (like different coloured eyes, etc) is okay, just avoid flying, pink tigers with multicoloured wings with a marking on it which looks exactly like a white parrot in flight, please. Albinos, etc are okay. All the TFC rules apply, so nothing inappropriate.

Note: The actual term "Panthera" is a genus containing the tiger, the lion, the leopard and the jaguar, however in this roleplay you can be any size of any species of cat, from a domesticated to a lion.

Tundra giggled, before taking another piece. She swallowed, and added, "I'm glad I met you, Joey. It's nice having someone to talk to."

Joey swallowed and smiled, "Thanks Tundra, its nice I met you too. I've been lonely too long, even though tigers are solitary." He winks, "But whoever said I was a normal tiger?" He chuckled and kept eating.

Tundra smiled. "You do indeed seem....unique. Most tigers would have eaten me by now." The female took another piece of the carcass, relishing it's succulent taste.

Joey nodded, "Oh yeah, if I would have met you a bit before, my sister would have killed you. But she's gone..." He stopped and looked at Tundra worry filling his eyes, he shook his head and kept eating.

Tundra looked up from the kill. "I'm sorry...." she mumbled, looking down at the meat.

"sorry for what?" Joey looked up a bit confused.

Tundra swished her tail nervously. "Did - did she die?" she said, looking down at the ground.

Joey chuckled slightly, "No we got seperated. Actually I seperated from her. I'm not as old as I look. Our mother left us and I travelled with my sister. But she changed." He smiled, "No need to worry about her." He kept eating

"She - she- she changed?" Tundra echoed. "S-s-sorry for b-bringing i-i-it u-u-up." A cold breeze was filtering through the area, and the small snow leopard was shivering. "C-can w-we go i-i-inside? It's c-c-cold."

Joey nodded and took off one more piece of the buck. He stood up and stretched, he no longer wanted to talk about his sister so he smiled.

Tundra looked up, surprised to see how quickly the breeze had worsened. "W-w-we better g-g-go inside," she shouted over the wind, quickly running towards her den, up the old slope. She waited for the tiger, the snow almost making her vanish from view.

Joey ran after her and gave her a slight push with his nose, to go inside. As soon as he was sure she was in he followed her, looking around befor going in and lying down

Taryn looked across the land from the hill with the wind buffeting her fur and threatening to knock her off her paws. Her white pelt blended into the whirling snow and she was only slightly phased by the icey chill that seeped through her fur.

Tundra followed the male, glad to be out of the cold. She shivered, snow flying off her coat in all angles. Her claws clacked noisily as they touched the stone floor as she entered, and she curled up on her little nest, covered in moss.
"I thought tigers lived in jungles....so why are you all out here, in all places?" she asked, looking at the tiger curiously.

Joey rested his large head on his paws and looked at Tundra. Sighing he told Tundra, "I came here to escape." He stopped and smiled.

Tundra decided not to ask any more questions, for fear of angering the male. Instead she put her head on her fluffy, spotted paws, nearly drifting off to sleep.

Joey smiled and stood up. He walked to the entrance and sat there looking outside. Yawning he walked back and lyed down, quickly falling asleep again.

Taryn suppressed a shiver and made her way down the hill, her paw-prints being quickly covered up with a new layer of snow.

Joey perked his ears to a crunching sound, he remained motionless and waited.

Taryn's ears perked up, listening for the sound or smell of anything that was possibly edible or a threat. The tiger padded onward.

Joey stood up slowly making sure not to wake Tundra. He walked to the entrance alert, and observed everything.

Taryn was suddenly alert at the sound of something moving and looked around. She crouched low to blend in better and peered through the snow with narrowed eyes.

Joey stepped out of the den, and looked around. He sniffed the air and caught a slight scent from uphill.
