Grayheart trotted into RiverClan territory, a breeze blowing past her as she sprinted through the grassy ground. Once she had reached a clearing, she stopped, and glanced back for her apprentice, Snowpaw. It would be time to train, and Grayheart was excited to be training her first apprentice. Letting out a short howl, Grayheart waited for her apprentice to come over to where she was.

Grayheart let out a yelp as she stumbled, Snowpaw having succesfully tripped her, ending up landing on her side against the grassy ground. She was quick to get up to her paws, however, and sprang at Snowpaw, trying for the apprentice to loose his balance. River battle technique can wait for now. She thought as she leaped into the air.

Grayheart hadn't expected Snowpaw's move, so she stumbled backwards. "Alright Snowpaw, try a few more offensive and defensive moves, then we can try something else." The gray wolf said, panting slightly. She watched her apprentice, waiting for him to try another move.

Grayheart watched Snowpaw, expecting the apprentice to leap at her again, yet instead he tripped her, causing the gray wolf to fall onto her side. Before she could move, Snowpaw had pinned her down. "Excellent, Snowpaw. In battle, any warrior would have thought you would leap at them, yet instead you surprised me by trying to trip me. I think that should be enough fighting for now, we can work on another skill." Grayheart nodded, moving slightly away. Waiting until Snowpaw probably wasn't focused on battle, Grayheart crouched down, and sprang at Snowpaw to see how her apprentice would do in a surprise attack.

Grayheart nodded, looking at Snowpaw. "You've got to be prepared... for nearly anything that could happen." With that, she leaped away, and then ran at Snowpaw to see what her apprentice would do, perhaps battling a wolf of WindClan considering how fast they could run.

Grayheart fell onto her side as Snowpaw again tripped her, and looked up at her apprentice as he pinned her down once more. "Good work, Snowpaw. I think that's enough fighting for now, correct?" Grayheart waited until Snowpaw moved away before she got up to her paws, shaking out her ruffled medium gray fur. Blinking her golden eyes, the wolf looked around where they were, trying to see if any prey or predators would be nearby depending on what Snowpaw would want to do. "You can choose what we do next."

Grayheart nodded to her apprentice, noticing how he still was prepared for a surprise attack. "Tracking for predators, or prey?" The RiverClan wolf asked her apprentice, her gray fur ruffled by a breeze. "You're safe for now, I won't surprise you with more battle practice." She added, sitting down to show that she wasn't prepared for battle.

Grayheart nodded, scenting at the air. "Okay then, to track a predator, you first need to scent the air to make sure there are, or hopefully aren't if we weren't training, any predators on our territory. You then must follow the scent, being downwind is very important. Once you're nearby it, usually you'll want help if it's something dangerous like a bear. Or if the predator's a coyote, you can probably chase it away without too many injuries." She looked at her apprentice to see what predators he would find on RiverClan territory.

Grayheart trotted after Snowpaw, also scenting the coyote after a while. "Try to chase it away from here. Be careful for it not to bite you; though as wolves are larger than coyotes, it should start running after you growl or try snarling at it." Grayheart said quietly, being careful to be downwind of the coyote as she looked at the apprentice.

The gray-blue wolf nodded, going over to her apprentice. "That was good, Snowpaw. Try scenting for more predators then, and do the same. If anything happens, I can help you in battle if it's needed." Grayheart said, looking around to see if she could see more coyotes nearby. If one happened to be found, it was likely it might have had a small pack somewhere in RiverClan territory as well.

The wolf nodded in response to Snowpaw, trotting after her apprentice quietly as he followed the scent of a coyote. Only it seemed different; Grayheart's golden eyes grew wide as she realized it wasn't just one lone coyote they had scented. The she-wolf walked over to Snowpaw, staring at the pack of coyotes in the clearing. They hadn't seemed to notice the two wolves yet. "Snowpaw... we'll need to be more careful this time. Here, try to hide further downwind of the coyotes." Grayheart flicked her ear in the direction they had previously came in. "I'll go and scare the coyotes, or at least get them to chase me over to where you'll be hiding. Once the coyotes are nearby, you can leap out and startle them. Together, we'll fight them away." Nodding to her apprentice, Grayheart sprang out towards the coyotes, letting out a fierce snarl. These coyotes were on RiverClan territory, they were a danger to the Clan. She would not let them stay here, even if it meant getting injured a bit.

Grayheart snarled at the coyotes; for a few moments they appeared scared and startled, before they realized they were a pack and Grayheart was only one wolf. They snarled in return, walking towards the she-wolf slowly. Quickly, Grayheart spun around and ran as fast as she could; a rather fast speed as she was quick on her paws. The coyotes decided to race after her, perhaps deciding they might be able to chase Grayheart out of 'their' territory. The wolf bolted over to Snowpaw, the coyotes right next to her.

Grayheart watched as the coyotes went running away. She let out a howl after the coyotes, trying to convince them that more wolves would soon be coming. What would keep the coyotes away for a long time? Perhaps if there were some prey, the coyotes would rather eat it than attack these RiverClan wolves; though where would Grayheart catch something that would feed this pack, and why would she want to give RiverClan prey to those coyotes? No, there would need to be another way. "Let's chase the coyotes to the river, Snowpaw. Then we can corner them and chase them past the river." The wolf said, bolting after the coyotes and trying to direct them in the direction of the dark blue river.
