The apprentice was solem. He held back tears. He would be strong for her he would stay by her side. He looked at the pretty wolf.

"Ah, okay. I just dozed off while coming back from the borders." He gave a small chuckle before placing his kill on the Fresh-kill pile. New-leaf...

Pups. For a moment, the thought lingered and she smiled. "Yes, I want to talk to you about the Clan and about other things but can we do it while we walk, Wind. Also I have an idea on how to deal with the thundersticks." Looking at Rocky. "Come on, Rocky. I'll show you the borders first." The fiery female paused for a moment then gave Otterpup a slight nudge and moved on. "When Rain's time comes, I think that she'll be alright, because Feathersoul is here", she said. She passed her brother standing firm and true by Echopaw. "Don't worry, Stormpaw. I'm sure Echopaw will be fine." She gave him a reassuring nudge before flicking her tail at Windstorm and Rocky and padding through the tunnel.

Feathersoul sighed, finished mopping up Nightowl's blood. "You'll need to rest here until your blood replenishes and your wound scabs up. After you're stronger, you can go out in and around the camp and maybe take a trip to Sunningrocks for resting, but don't over do it." Her belly swaying, she sauntered over to the small round bullet and scooping it up in her jaws. The bullet carefully lodged in between her teeth, she padded back over to Nightowl's side, spitting it out next to him. "I thought you might want to have this..." she said with a small smile.

Echopaw breathed roughly, her heart thumped violentley. Her gaze wavered until she saw Stormpaw.
"Help me..." she whimpered.

Hearing a small and fragile voice from outside, Feathersoul poked her head outside of the den, startled to see Echopaw awake. She dashed over to her store as fast as her swollen belly would allow and she was soon by the apprentice's side. "Shh, its okay. Just concentrate on breathing, okay? Good, good, now tell me what hurts."

Echopaw breathed slowly, she was complteley dazed.
"Legs... numb..." she said, her voice as soft as a whisper.
The she-wolf tried to find the words to comfort Storm, to comfort herself.
"I'll be strong... for the both of us.." she promised.

Nodding, Feathersoul pawed out some rushes, stinging nettle and comfrey. "I'm going to need you to be brave for me," she said, placing her paws on Echopaw's legs, feeling along it for a break. She mashed on different spots, starting at the top and ending at her paws. "Tell me when it hurts, okay?"

Echopaw nodded. Fear surgured inside of her. What if she could never be a... a... warrior? She wouldn't let that thought cross her mind. She braced herself as Feathersoul jabbed at her legs. She yelped as she hit the middle of her leg.

Stopping, Feathersoul examined the middle section of Echopaw's legs. It was badly bruised and swollen, but she couldn't tell if it was broken or not. Regretting what she would have to do, the Medicine Wolf stood, padding over to the edge of camp and grabbing a long, thick stick. Hauling it over to the apprentice, she set it down beside Echopaw's mussel. "Don't look and bite down when the pain comes, alright?" She sat down beside her leg, streaching her claws.

Flci,Ing her tail at Rocky,she nodded to Feather as she spoke with her. She heard Firestar speak to her,but she was so glum she didn't notice. She then stood up and glanced around. She noticed Rain and Flacon,with Otterpup tossing around a moss ball. She blinked and sighed. She then sa Hawktalon come back I'm camp. She felt bored and went to the warriors den she yawned and laid down.

Echopaw held the twig tightly in her jaws. She braced herself, yet again. Even though Feather had told her not to, she glanced anyway. Seeing thd medicine wolf's sharp, streched claws; she almost screeched. She bit her lip though for she was no coward. Thats what had gotten her into this mess to begin with, Hawkpool too. Echopaw dug her fangs into the stick, wsiting for the searing pain she would feel.

Knowing that the apprentice was already in a huge amount of pain, Feathersoul acted quickly. She sliced open the skin above the bone, sinking her claws down in the flesh until she felt bone. She winced as she felt blood pooling around her paw. Sticking her other foot in, she forced open the slit until she had a horrid, bloody view of the bone. She scanned it until she found what she had been looking for; a hairline fracture. She let the skin fold back into place, coating the bleeding slice in cobwebs in moss. After thickly layering it, she tied rushes around it tightly.

Echopaw yowled in horror. The stick in her mouth split in half from the extreme pressure of her jaw. After seeing the blood and feeling the pain she was dazed.

Feathersoul backed away from Echopaw's leg, wiping her bloodied paws on the ground. "Shh, its okay, its over now." rummaging in her herb pile, pulling out some Chamomile and Poppy seeds. She shredded the Chamomile with her claws, making it easier for Echopaw to chew. "Just swallow these for me and everything will be okay."

Feathersoul had made everything seem "okay" when she knew it wasn't. She sighed and ate the shredded herb anyway. Tired and stressed she shut her eyes to rest for a bit.

Hawkpool heard an ear splitting shriek. Se jumped up and whipped her head around. She saw the big pile of blood beside Echopaw. She clenched her jaw. And dashed over. She noticed Echopaw in pain. And Feather shove some hearts to her. Shae laid down beside her,and watched her. Her ears pinned down.

Stormpaw saw her love wake up. He also saw her shriek in pain. Hawkpool had laid down beside her. he growled,"Hawkpool is isn't going to be better if you lay right next to her! It is one thing for me to be here but for you to tell me to leave her alone and then you lsy right nnext to her that is a whole other thing!"

Hawkpool ignored the apprentice. Feeling terrible for Echopaw. She just heard the slow thumb of her heart. She sighed and blinked her orange eye. And closed her blind one.

Echopaw heard the quarrel and she tucked her nose into her fur. She wished she wasn't so stupid to run into the street. Now her life was in ruins; all she knew was being challengened by fate. She shuffled closer to Stormpaw and shivered; she might have lost her legs, but would she lose him too?
(She means her legs are injured badly, not gone lol)

Hawkpool saw Echo scoot closer to Stormpaw. She then curled up and shut her eyes. She then sank her claws into her tail. Not screaming as she saw the blood flow through her newly made wound. She sheathed her claws. And sighed. Curling tighter.

She could feel the tension; grief filled her heart. What had she done? She scented blood and had a terrible flashback of her sliced leg. She yelped and jerked her head. She stared at the horrid wound and wondered if she could ever be the same.

Away from the pain and the loss. The pain that she had caused. She then opened her eyes. And watched woefully at her blood-stained fur.

Echopaw jerked her head back. She shut her eyes and fell into a sleep. A deep deep sleep. Or atleast she thought she did.
