Dragonpaw training with Stoatblaze

Stoatblaze ran through the clearings and grass, heading towards where he'd train his apprentice. He was glad Dragonpaw was his apprentice, as she seemed nice and full of energy; like himself. The wolf stopped nearby the river, in a clearing. Letting out a quiet howl he waited for Dragonpaw to show by the river.

Stoatblaze managed to walk over to the hole in the ice, and he held on to the badger's scruff. He tried to pull the badger onto the ice, trying to help his apprentice. "What do we do after the badger has been brought onto the ice?" The warrior asked his apprentice; the ice could just break again, sending them all into the river water. He would think of what they could do, though wanted to see Dragonpaw's response to the question he had asked.

Stoatblaze had helped Dragonpaw move the badger onto the ice, and twitched his ears in acknowledgement of what Dragonpaw said. He watched as the badger got up, going over to its kits and nodded to them before going away. "I'm glad that worked." He said, and stepped over to where the shore was. Dragonpaw had looked around, probably scenting for prey scents; Stoatblaze thought he might be able to scent some birds, though looked at his apprentice to see what she had found or would try to catch.

Stoatblaze's blue eyes looked in the direction of his apprentice as she looked for prey. His pelt bristled as he caught scent of a fox, though he supposed the fox scent might have been a bit stale. This apprentice, he responded; "I haven't seen those that often, but I'm going to guess yes, they could be dangerous. It would probably be a bit hard to catch one, as it could always charge at you like the badger, except this time it can hurt you further." The mentor glanced at the apprentice. "Why do you ask, though? Did you want to catch one?" He thought those birds he could scent would be easier to catch, though Dragonpaw had already caught birds before. Perhaps it was time she learned to hunt something else, something larger that couldn't fly off into the sky.

[I suppose it could be, although it's probably more of a prey animal than a predator; I gave you points towards finding medium-sized prey for that, if you want I could give you points towards scouting for predators also]

Stoatblaze nodded. "You'll have to be prepared for it to charge at you. You'll probably need to use some fighting skills to take one down." He said, also scenting at the air. The warrior waited for his apprentice to try and hunt something.

[Alright, I gave you 4 points for finding the boar in scouting (since it is a prey-predator)]

Stoatblaze waited until Dragonpaw had gone out of sight before following her, staying behind snowdrifts so he could watch his apprentice without being seen. He looked up as he could scent the boar, wondering if it would try to injure the apprentice. He would be sure to help Dragonpaw then if that happened. Stoatblaze watched as Dragonpaw leaped at the boar, and it had tried to throw her away, ready to leap over to Dragonpaw if the boar hurt his apprentice.

Stoatblaze watched his apprentice and the boar. The boar had thrown her off, and charged at her, so at this Stoatblaze was prepared to help. Dragonpaw had leaped to the side, avoiding it and instead managed to claw it. Stoatblaze's apprentice had then leaped onto the boar's face, and he frowned. It might be able to throw her off and then use its tusks against her, though the wolf hoped that wouldn't happen.

The warrior padded out from behind a snowdrift, smiling at his apprentice. "Good work, Dragonpaw, you've caught the boar!" The SunClan wolf said, his orange-and-white fur spotted with snow as it slightly began to fall. "We can bring that to camp or bury it somewhere in the snow for now, anything you'd like to work on next? Maybe on your battle training?" Stoatblaze asked, looking at his apprentice. They hadn't gone over battling yet, although Dragonpaw learned some from battling against the badger and boar.

Stoatblaze nodded, looking at his apprentice. "You shouldn't attack others first, though; rather instead use battle moves as defense or in battle." The warrior said, quiet for a few moments as he planned his next move. Quickly the SunClan wolf sprang at Dragonpaw, his paws stretched out, aiming for his paws to land near her shoulders. He was hoping that would give him time to plan out his next move before Dragonpaw.

Stoatblaze growled as Dragonpaw had moved out of the way, ending up landing on his side. As soon as he had got up to his paws Dragonpaw went under him, her claws slightly raking at his belly. Stoatblaze glanced over his shoulder, and tried to grab onto the apprentice's scruff. He had thought about practicing an actual move, perhaps after she had tried another battle move on him also.

Stoatblaze held onto Dragonpaw's scruff as she struggled, though when she began aiming at his chest with her paws he lost his hold and let go of the apprentice. He realized he had actually tried out a real move; the Teeth Grip, he thought it was called, perhaps Dragonpaw would learn of it as well. Stepping backwards to regain his balance, having nearly fell over, the orange-tan wolf tried to hold onto Dragonpaw's tail instead. He knew this move wasn't the best, as Dragonpaw could easily get out of it, but he wanted to practice more actual fighting moves with her; this one being named the same as well.

Stoatblaze nearly lost his balance as Dragonpaw moved away, letting out a yelp of surprise as she landed a blow on his muzzle. Stoatblaze fell onto the ground, his dark blue eyes blinking for a few moments. "The Front Paw Blow, I remember when my mentor taught me that. Good work getting that on your own." He said a bit quietly. Shaking his head, the warrior glanced back at his apprentice as he prepared for her next move and got up to his paws, still feeling a bit dizzy from that fighting move.

Stoatblaze watched as Dragonpaw charged at him, going low and trying to grab onto one of his paws. Quickly he lifted up one in the air in an attmept to avoid her move, however he lost his balance. Stoatblaze fell onto his side, his dark blue eyes glancing back for his apprentice. He tried to quickly get up to his paws, and leaped for Dragonpaw. He hoped she would be able to try a move in defense, of which she could practice more to perfect it.
