Fourtrees #7

Fourtrees is a group of four tall oak trees that the Clan wolves have held their Gatherings at since the early days of the Clans. Fourtrees is described as neutral territory, and is often used when wolves from different Clans want to meet outside a Gathering. There is a large rock in the middle of Fourtrees called the Great Rock.The Clan leaders use it to look down on the Clans and share their news during Gatherings. Also, there is a small opening in the rock with a space big enough for many small pups to fit into.

Isenfire found herself in the familiar forest, the trees and everything so refreshing. She hoped that SunClan would take her back, she'd gone off to find her sister. Storm was pup-napped at birth, she hoped to find her, but to no avail. She followed the scents of her clanmates. Shadowpaw she searched for, unaware of the name Shadowstorm given to him. She smiled as she saw the gathering of crowd. Why is Firepaw on the highrock? She wondered as she traced two familiar scents to hear Hawkpool speaking to her love. "Its ok. If you loved her enough,you'll let go. I miss her too. But,you'll see her again.... I promise." What had happened, was all the words he told her lies? Was he cheating on her? She ran off with tears streaming from her face.

Hearing crying,she turned and saw a pelt flash and run off. She then turned to Shadowstorm. "Who's that? It smelled like Sunclan. But I'm not sure..." She sighed and looked back. "We could go look if you want." She decided to try and take Isen off his mind. Since all that caused him was sadness.

The grumpy medicine wolf yet still warrior trudged into fourtrees. he lifted his lips as he saw all the lovey dove couples everywhere. oh how disguisting, well at least as a medicine wolf he had a reason not to have to fall for anyone. however he was still a warrior as starclan had decreed that he could be both. he lashed his tail and glared around. he noticed spottedpup now spottedpaw and trudged over to her sitting down he gave an annoyed huff. "dont go falling for anywolves spottedpaw, all it does is cause hurt and pain". The grumpy medicine yet warrior stood and noticed hawkpool and Shadowstorm. lacking things to do he padded over and said "mind if i join you two?"

How long had it been? She normally refused to go to gatherings. Too many wolves all in one place, too many possibilities for arguments. Lightdawn really did hate arguments, it was one of the many reasons why she would have preferred to become a Medicine Wolf to a warrior. The sister of the ShadowClan leader recalled what had occurred at the previous gathering she had attended, where she had helped a RiverClan wolf. Her mind went back to those times and she wished for them. Now she had something else to do, StarClan had decreed it.

The white wolf wondered if this was her ancestor's plan all along. She would become Medicine Wolf for a more direct contact and mentor a ShadowClan pup until she was ready. Then she would disappear without a trace, not even speaking to her brother about it. All along the way she hoped her brother was coping. Lightdawn really had been his only support for so long. She knew he would react badly, but hoped he would be so caught up in leading the Clan that soon he would forget for the time being and that nothing would remind him. Many StarClan would send him comforting dreams, or he would even find a love to help him through it? The thought almost warranted a chuckle from the injured she-wolf, Shadestar, love? That was absurd. But hope was the only thing she had right now and the only thing she would have. Now in the paws of StarClan themselves, she hoped everything would go well.

Now her thoughts turned darker. Had she been a good enough pawn in the chess game that had been put before her? Had she been a good messenger for the dark evils of those who were supposedly good? How could they just sacrifice her, force her to be alone, and now do this? The only thing that saved her from becoming insane when thinking these things was the only thing that spurred her on: to save her brother. Nothing else was on her mind as she limped through the forest, crossing through territories and between trees and over hills. The full moon rose high above her. Fur fell off of her skinny body in tufts, her golden eyes dulled and no longer stood out on her emaciated frame. Her right ear was torn and there was a bleeding cut on her left shoulderblade. Stumbling over a root, she forced her screaming body to its feet and moved towards the scent of the familiar clans. Lightdawn's breath came in gasps and it furled upwards towards the heavens. Whining in pain because of the effort, she watched as the slopes of the fourtrees grew larger. She could hear an unfamiliar voice inform the wolves below of an unfamiliar Clan. There was no time to dwell on such unimportant matters as the past of the forest, what mattered now was the future.

Reaching the top of the slope, her eyes looked down upon the wolves sitting below. Large and small frames, males and females, pups and adults, apprentices and warriors. All sat unawares beneath her, not knowing of the deaths possibly awaiting them and the dangers approaching. Lightdawn managed to choke out a howl from her parched throat as she walked unsteadily down the slope and to an open area of the clearing. "My name is Lightdawn," were her first words as she stood there. "I come bearing news of danger." The older wolf's gaze turned wistfully towards her brother Shadestar as he stood on top of the rock before her.

Shadowstorm shook his head in disbelief as he scented the fae as she disappeared. "It can't be... IT'S ISENFIRE! That's her scent." He said, taking in the scent again to be sure. "She must have a message. She must be down here by Starclan's power! We have to follow her!" He murmured running after her.

-SunClan camp-

The ignored medicine wolf snorted through his nose, he turned and stared at lightdawn. with a highly irratible sweep of his tail he turned and plumped his rear down. he glowered up at the leaders. he admire shadestar the most. he was the one who was the most like Owlscreech. he loathed soft kindhearted wolves. he wanted to be a medicine wolf and a warrior. and so he was. he flicked his tail and shook himself free of the ever pressing down snow. he snorted and glared around.

Out of the shadows an evil emerged from hell itself. Blending into the darkness was a mastered art where she came from. A plan was calculated in her intelligent mind, her gaze watching every move her escaped prisoner took. Everything was going according to plan. Her advisor had informed her of the white wolf's "disappearance" and then in which direction she had gone. The poor thing led her straight where she wanted and needed to be. An easy infiltration.

The territory of the wolves was surprisingly silent. No one was patrolling the borders and hunting. All of them were gathered together in one place, being addressed, not realizing anything that was happening around them. Now, Duskshadow had always been one for making an impression, and this seemed the perfect time to do it.

Following slowly behind the old Clan wolf, she waited on top of the slope for her to reach the bottom and begin speaking. Waiting silently, her tail flicked back and forth and she looked at all the wolves with disdain and a slight interest. There were many, that could not be denied, but they were a monarchy, not a democracy. Either way its government was easily interrupted, but perhaps even more-so now with one leader for each Clan.

The wolf had managed to choke out its stupid words warning the Clans of imminent danger. A smile curled the female's jaws as she realized how right Lightdawn really was. A shooting star crossed the sky. A sign. Show time.

Duskshadow barreled forwards down the slope past the wolves surrounding her. Nothing else was there except the shimmering white figure standing in front of her. Leaping forwards, she jumped at the female and forced her to the ground. Before she could even speak, her throat was ripped out, blood gushing from the wound. Duskshadow then took her leave, disappearing out of the clearing and into the night as if she was smoke. It had begun.

Owlscreech howled a fury and a battle howl before he turned and placed hsi paw against lightdawns throat. he roared "i NEED COBWEBS AND MOSS NOW". his eyes glittered as he struggled to keep lightdawns life within her. she was a fellow medicine wolf. He was bound by duty to aid her. he gave an annoyed lash of his tail as the leaders still sat apon their rock. he had noticed the falling star and understood what it meant. the downfall of the clans unless they did something. he growle

A joy rose in Shadestar's chest as he recognized his sister Lightdawn. She had returned to the Clans! Then he noticed her gaze. Her injuries. Her limping. He listened intently as she stopped, a curiousness and caring in his gaze shown to no one else. Her words ran through his brain clearly. Danger.

Then suddenly a wolf came towards his sister, and before he could do anything was on top of her. Then the shadow was gone, leaving a bloodied female wolf lying in its wake, a red staining her beautiful pelt crimson. A vicious growl ripped from the leader's jaws as he leaped from the rock and ran after the one who had done this. Anger surged through his veins as he reached the top of the slope. Darkness opened up before him, and he knew it was no use.

The call for cobwebs echoed behind him, and the leader looked around and caught sight of some on a log. Quickly gathering them all up he raced back to the Medicine Wolf and gave them up. Leaning over his sister he pushed his face into her fur, murmuring quiet encouraging words. She could not leave him. There was no way. He couldn't be alone again with no more family.

As he laid there, a fury unknown even to him ripped through his body. He would find who did this. He would rip out their heart and throat and leave them to die. Personally.

Owlscreech gave a quick nod in thanks and began using snow to slow the bleeding, he then heavily applied the cobwebs. his eyes glittering with worry he said "the shooting star was a sign! the clans will fall before this new darkness". his Amber brown eyes stared at shadestar as he said "i must go to the moonstone and speak with starclan". he said to shadestar, "keep the clans here, we may need to work together on this occasion". he turned and headed toward highstones. his head high as he stepped through the snow. he had done all he could for lightdawn. now he had to take her place as a medicine wolf, though in his heart he would always be a warrior.

Ripplestone appeared with fresh sunclan kill between her jaws. she had forgotten all about the gathering! she flicked her tail and padded silently over to Stoatblaze and Fangclaw. she sat down and dropped the kill, her white pelt moving a little in the breeze she asked "what happened?"

Jadepup had been about to follow Fernpup into the gap but had been pushed aside by another pup from another clan. She glared at him as he played with Fernpup and she sighed. I'll go find someone else..., she thought and spun around heading back to where Okamipup had last been. She was surprised to see the pup was no longer there and she started to look around the clearing for her. Hope she's alright, she pup thought and flicked her tail.

Luna smiled at Bluestorm's words. She was happy that he will be by her side. She really liked him and she was glad that her feelings were shared. She nuzzled him then she gently touched her nose with his. She looked at his red eyes with her grey ones. She enjoyed spending her time with him but a sudden howl interrupted the pleasant feeling. Her ears perked up as she calmly said. "Let's go and check what's going on at the gathering." She flicked her tail and took a step forward. She looked at the warrior and smiled waiting for him to come.

Snowflower smiled at Duskfang. She turned back and heard the news of Sunclan. The white femme scented an odd scent, as if of dead. She sniffed the air, "what in the name of StarClan?..."she mumbled. She shook it off. "If my mother turns up, I know I'm going crazy."she murmured.

She listened to Direstar's words thoughtfully. The firey leader spun round as she heard growling and then saw a dark wolf attack a medicine wolf and then dissolve into smoke. Springing off the rock and landing on the ground, she made her way over to Shadestar. Her mind teemed with questions Who was the dark wolf? Why did she hurt Lightdawn? The shooting star was a sign from StarClan, I think.

Wind padded into the area still smiling about his encounter with the female. He looked around and saw lots of wolves. Hmmm, not exactly the environment he liked. he remembered how some of the other clans spoke to him. Looking around, he looked for that brilliant firy coat, but didn't see it. sighing he sat and curled his tail around his paws.

Blackpaw (Sorry for late post) ran up to the injured she-wolf. He got nauseous at all the blood, he took a deep breath and saw another wolf getting cobwebs. He decided to look in the bushes were the wolf had disappeared. A growl from deep in his throat emerged, though a shaken one, to try and warn off the wolf thy had done that.

Wind saw some clean snow and gathering some, brought it to the ingered wolf. Gently, he pressed some of it onto the bloody areas. Looking around, he was still disapointed not to see Firespell. He didn't know she was leader now..

Firestar heard paws approaching and her eyes lit up as she spotted a familiar pelt and smile. "Hello Windstorm, she said, padding up to him with joy. "Lots of things have happened since I've seen you. Phoenixstar's dead and I'm now leader." She flicked her tail at him. "Are you alright?" she asked.

Duskfang lay down as Direstar started to make his announcements and snorted. What this SunClan wolf drooling on about now? He had no interest in other Clans' bussiness, unless it involved battle, in which case he would be one of the first up. He kept his ears perked, catching only the key words to get the general idea of the announcement, but let his attention wander around the clearing. It was then he saw it. A ghostly wolf with large fangs and an intensely malicious glint in it's eyes. However he was powerless to do anything. Before he knew it the wolf was charging down a StormClan female...then it had killed her...now it was gone. Duskfang jumped to his paws, his fur bristling furiously. Glaring after the wolf he let out a vicious snarl, baring his teeth. The white female who now lay, lifeless on the ground, had been a medicine wolf, and however much he despised the other Clans, he had nothing against their medicine wolves - and pups for that matter. He stood for a moment, wondering what to do.

Magmafeather listened to Direstar's Speech. Nothing out of the ordinary, it seemed. He wondered if Shadestar or Graystar would bring up the rats. It would be exposing a weakness, but at the same time, the other clans would want to be prepared for any sort of danger the rats could bring.

"It can't be... IT'S ISENFIRE! That's her scent. She must have a message. She must be down here by Starclan's power! We have to follow her!" She heard, her ears perked up at his excitement, what had happened in the time she was gone? She padded back over to them. "What are you talking about Shadowstorm? How would I receive my warrior name. Let alone a message from StarClan?" She asked, nuzzling his gently. "It's good to see you again Hawkpool. I apologize to both of you for my absence. I learned of a twin sister I had, I went looking for her, over the mountains." She said again.

Shadowstorm looked at her in disbelief. Surely this was a dream.. no it couldn't be. "But--- but we saw you fall into the gorge. You cracked your head open.... Oak and I.. we carried your body away after Direstar sent you to StarClan as a warrior. If that wasn't you, then who was it. she smelled like you, she looking like you and she even acted like you Isen." He said in a confused tone. He simply went up to her, tears streaming from his face as he went up and nuzzled her gently. "I missed you." He whispered into her ear.
