Fawnpaw watched at Keaflight came and took Thunderpaw away to train with him. He head cocked to the side silently at the exchange before shaking it and turning to her mentor. "Alright, what do you want to start with first?" She gave Fernshade a shaky grin, actually nervous for her first training lesson as an apprentice. Especially nervous as Fernshade had Thunderpaw as an apprentice just before her.

She shrugged. "Where do you want to start? Your the apprentice. Learn the skills you wish to learn." Fernshade smiled and flicked her tail.

Fawnpaw paused to think for a moment. "Battle training," she said with a grin. She had always beaten Rowanpaw in fighting and now she wanted to see if she could hold herself against a warrior. She stepped closer to Fernshade, awaiting the rules that she would have to follow in the lesson.

Fernshade nodded. "Alright." Fernshade flicked her tail. "Now come at me. I want to see what you can do." Fern bunched up her muscles. Ready to dodge or dash away at any given time.

The fae nodded and began to calculate her moves on Fernshade. It took her a moment but soon enough she sprang. Fawnpaw first jumped left before using her hind legs to kick dirt up, aiming at her mentor's face, and springing onto her back. It was a move she used often on her friend and was suddenly glad of his lanky form, without it she would have been struggling to aim for Fernshade's back. Shortness did have its disadvantages as well as advantages.

Seeing Fawn aim sand at her. She closed her eyes. The sand plopped harmlessly on her chest. She shook her pelt,thence ed her eyes. She saw Fawnpup leapt at her. Fern yelped and jumped away.

Fawnpaw landed where Fernshade was just standing, panting softly from the movements. She knew she would have to work up her body and stamina quickly as an apprentice but her smaller than average body made it difficult. Taking a small moment to suck in a breath, the she-wolf kept up her battle attack. She used her smaller body as an advantage and easily ducked under the other female. She then tried to kick at her chest, mindful of her claws.

Feeling a kick in her chest,she landed in the sand. The wind knocked out of her. She couched out dust. Then flicked her ears. She spun around and darted to the side. She raced towards Fawnpaw. Trying to ram into her.

Fawnpaw let out a small gasp as her mentor rammed into her side, sending her tumbling into the dust. She slowly got herself up with a small wince. Her side had a twinge of pain, shooting up her thigh and down her back. With a careful shake of her fur, Fawnpaw shifted on her feet before leaping at Fernshade again, this time head on and hoping to catch the warrior by surprise.

Seeing Fawn come at her. She stood infront of her.then at the last second,she stepped aside. She saw her tumble into the ground. She picked her up by the scuff. And coughed. She shook her pelt and glanced at her apprentice. "Good job. Now lets start on some basic moves." She flicked her tail and stood up.

Fawnpaw skidded to a halt as Fernshade moved to the side but didn't try and attack again as she spoke. The fae panted softly and nodded her head. She stood in front of Fernshade before giving a shake of her fur. "Okay," she said simply.

She nodded. E kicked out her back legs. Leaning on her front legs. Then putting them down. "Back-kick." She blinked and flicked her tail. She then claws at the ground with her hind legs. "Belly rake. Onky that your raking a belly. Not the ground."

Fawnpaw nodded and tried out the moves slowly and carefully on her own. First, she put all of her weight on her front paws and kicked herself up, also kicking behind her. After a few more tires of that, the brown fae maneuvered herself onto the ground and onto her back. She lifted up her hind legs easily and slashed at the air above her, claws unsheathed. "Like this?"

Fernshade nodded. "Good." She flicked her tail and blinked. She watched her apprentice carefully. She then glanced around for something. Noticing a log,she dashed at it. She then leapt into it. She dug her claws deeply into it and raked her claws though it. "Leap and hold. But be careful. Your opponent may roll,so you'll have to jump off." She then gracefully hopped off.

Fawnpaw rolled onto her stomach and heaved herself back on her legs with a small huff. With another nod to her mentor, she eyed the log. Taking in the distance she was from the dead tree, the fae stepped forward a few steps before running at it and jumping. She immediately felt the log under her paws so she quickly dug her claws into the bark, gripping the wood tightly for a few seconds before hopping off of it and back onto the ground.

Fernshade flicked her tail,and nodded. "Good." She then blinked her yellow eyes,then glanced around. She then turned to her apprentice. "Want to learn how to hunt?"

The young fae nodded her head. "Sure," she said with a grin. Fawnpaw turned to face her mentor fully, giving her her attention. She wondered what she would be learning how to hunt. There were many types of animals and prey in the forests and caves.

Fernshade nodded,and quickly crouched. She began to creep forward."Ok,so first of all,you'll need to learn the hunters crouch." She then sat up. And wrapped her tail around her paws. "But it usually comes naturally,since wolves are born hunters." She blinked and watched her apprentice carefully.

Fawnpaw immediately dropped down into a hunter's crouch, having done it so many times playing. She held herself as close to the ground as she could get without dragging her fur across any leaves or dirt and kept her tail straight so that it wouldn't brush up against anything. Slowly, Fawnpaw brought her right paw forward and stalked across the dirt. She took a few more strides before bouncing back up and looking over at Fernshade. "Was that alright?"

Fernshade smiled and nodded. "Good. So now,lets see of you can scent any prey." She took a deep breathe. Then watched her apprentice,Fawnpaw carefully.

Fawnpaw's tail twitched as she went on alert, eyes closed and her nose working quickly to pick up all scents around her. She could smell shrubs and flower buds not far off to her right and the fading scent of rabbit surrounding it - possibly a few hours old. The aroma of her mentor's sweat that clung to her fur filled her nose for a moment before she looked beyond that. Behind Fernshade, a few fox lengths back, there was a mouse scurrying about, unaware of the wolves as it collected new leaf food. It's tiny paws made scattering noises on the hard earth as it moved about. Fawnpaw's tail flicked over to the direction of the mouse. "Over there, a mouse." She paused for a moment and opened her mouth to taste the air around her. "And over there," she nodded her head to the right, "is a couple of birds." The fae nodded to herself before opening her eyes to look back at her mentor.

Fernshade smiled and nodded. "Good. Now do you smell anything else?" She had already scented some horses in the distance. She had a keen smell. But she didn't know how her apprentice would react.

Fawnpaw closed her eyes again to take in more smells. There was something strange and foreign to her nose. It was sweet? Yeah, sweet with a bit of staleness to it. Her ears flickered back and forth as she strained to hear the animals off in the distance. There were hooves hitting the earth and faint whinnies. THe fae opened her eyes, "What are those animals?"

Fernshade blinked. "Their called horses. But no need to pay attention to them." She then flicked her ears. "Now,try and take that rabbit." She flicked her ears towards a bush. With a white rabbit nibbling a seed in front of it.
